- Q: Just a simple question is there any carpet cleaner thats okay for ferrets the room my ferrets play in i rearranged and was gonna clean the carpet. - Bissell makes a Pet formula for steam extracting machines. It is about $20 and it smells great. I have 3 cats and a dog. I use it with my steamer a lot.

- Carpet Tile is great. We did that for our finished basement and it looks just as good as any other carpet. It washable, which makes it easy to maintain. I'm at work, and can't remember the brand name. I'll check when I get home and let you now what it is. It fits together like puzzle pieces. Once you vacuum it you can't see the lines.

- I did this a few weeks ago when I was cleaning my toilet. We have blue carpet that is variegated, but there were several dots where the bleach had dropped on the carpet. I don't know if it would work for you, but I used a purple colored pencil and covered over that with a gray colored pencil. It's not perfect, but it's no longer visible to the naked eye. Unless you're down on your hands and knees looking for a spot :) Hope this helps somewhat. Try a tan colored pencil on one spot and just see what it looks like.

- Quick fix: Febreeze. Won't clean it, but will hide the smell. Real fix: Clean with rag water then wash the whole rug in a (large) cold cycle with Woolite--NO dryer tho... hang it on a line somewhere. (Usually they're ok to wash; check for a tag on the rug that actually says it's ok first.) Also, don't overload your washer or you may break the washer. If the rug looks too big for your washer, you can always take it to a laundromat (won't get nastiness in your clothes washing machine either).

- Yes, you are being overprotective but its understandable. You don't want the rug to get spoiled and the best way to ensure that is to use it minimally. BUT. Its your home. And if you buy something to make your home look better, you're doing that so YOU can live in a better, prettier home :) the rug isn't there for your guests to appreciate it, it's there for you to appreciate it :) so maybe you should just leave it there and not roll it up and put it away'
- Q: As you can see from the lower half of the picture its slightly yellow. There are afew yellows spots(3-4 1'x1') through out the rug. How would I go about cleaning/reversing the effects?THANKS!
- That depends on what the stains are from. If they are from food, some oxygen type cleaners can lighten them, If they are from bleeding of the dyes in the rug colors (which can happen with some inexpensive wool oriental type carpets), there is not much you can do. If it is pet stains, a good professional cleaning company can often remove them. I have owned a lot of oriental carpets and I highly recommend finding a professional cleaner who specializes in cleaning them. It usually costs about $100 to have an 8 x 11 carpet cleaned, but they can make them look (and smell) like new. I don t think you should try to clean the rug with any water based cleaners or shampooing. Some one I know had a rug very much like yours and when they tried to damp shampoo it all of the red color bled into the white areas and ruined it.
