The vacuum will be more powerful, so it's preferred, the only trouble is that in order to make sure you don't re-infect with more dust than before is to use a water based machine, such as a rainbow. I highly recommend that you DO NOT use typical filter/bag based machines with electronic equipment. Anyway, once you have your air-duster of choice, use an extended paperclip to reach into the vent and hold the fan still. Blow from one side, so that the air pressure forces the dust out the other side of the vent. Depending on the make of your laptop, it's often advantageous to simply take it apart for a good cleaning every 3 months or so.
- Q: Ok so our Dyson hoover has finally given up. We want a new hoover that isn't as heavy as a Dyson. We tried the smaller Dyson's today but they aren't powerful enough because we have 2 pets you see. So we tested the HOOVER DM6228 and that seemed ok. Any reviews or any recommendations of vacuum cleaners? I live in Britain by the way.

- I got to tell you these are the easiest things to repair and maintain. Go to the library they should have more then enough information. You'll need very little tools and some brushes. Grab a few from the trash and practice with them chances are you'll be able to fix them. They are all basically the same.
- Q: crazy. Although I empty my bags or canister frequently, my vacuums only seem to last a few months. I just got a Dirt Devil about 2 months ago and its suction is just horrible now. Can anyone recommend a vacuum for under $500 that will last? Thank you.
- Look, I had the same problem as you. I bought a Kirby vacuum and I am making payments on it. Now I had added the cost of the vacuums together and it was worth getting the Kirby because it come with a warranty that you can't beat. If it breaks they will fix it and if they can't fix it, I get a new one. I know it is more money than you intended on spending, it was for me to but it is a life saver. It also comes with a shampoo attachment that gets out all the old pet stains so I also saved money on replacing my carpet too.

- I have a Dyson and I love it! I have never had a problem with it. I have the DC14 and I've had it for about 10 years now.If it ever breaks down or gets worn out I'm gonna get another Dyson for sure. You can't go wrong with either one you choose but I'd ask a sales person what the difference between the two is.Have fun, nothing beats a Dyson.

- The best vacuum is the one you will use. I had my mother's 1960 canister vacuum, and it was a pain to store and use, so I didn't use it. I bought an upright Electrolux, and it was heavy and I had to get my husband to carry it up and down stairs. I've had an Oreck, and I've had several Hoover's. Right now I have 2 Eureka Optimas--one for upstairs and one for down. They are identical and bagless. I use one or the other almost every day. Easy to store, lightweight and easy to use. Save your money; buy something lightweight, bagless, and with a 12 amp motor. Good Luck!

- if you are concerned with a vacuum at work in a company with the qualifying number of employees and you want to know whether a licensed electrician has to do the repairs the answer is no. the NEC considers it an appliance. if the cord is damaged it should be replaced. Taping it up will not pass for OSHA
