Q: can we install power 480 VAC and control 120 VAC cables,,, each one in different conduit but in parallel and adjacent ?also for two control cables ,,,, can they installed in one conduit ?: it isn't the final thank you to do it. there may well be some capacitive or inductive coupling between the 480 and one hundred twenty circuits that would adversely influence the controls. An unintentional short between the 480 and one hundred twenty circuits may well be a disaster on your controls.

Q: the light on the power cable box is orange when the xbox is turned on does this mean the cable is broke or the console? thanks: try taking all the cables out from the back of your xbox and tv and re-attaching them properly. If this does not work, consider going to the microsoft website under the help section, and see if you can find the answer. If not, then ring them up for free and they will tell you.

Q: I live in the UK and I am going on holiday to Taiwan/Japan where the voltage is 110/100v as opposed to 220 here (i think).I was wondering if I could use a power extension cable (with multiple sockets) so that i would only need one adaptor to connect the extension to the mains and then I could just simply plug my 3 pin plugs into the cable saving me money and sockets. As it would be a lower voltage, I assume that there shouldn't be any problems with power however, if there are any electricians or anyone who has done this before I would really appreciate some guidance just to ensure that this is safe.Thanks is advance.: Using your 220 extension cords and outlet strips on a lower voltage will not damage them or your devices, which of course will be receiving whatever voltage your cord is plugged into. You will need a transformer if any of your item(s) won't work at 100 volts. The same is not true for for running surge protected outlet strips intended for use at 120 volts in countries where the mains voltage is higher. Don

Q: Why is my 2 Gage power cable from the battery to my amp is to hot and makes a big spark and burns the wire when you meet one end to the other end?: Too hot means the current is very high. Probably in excess of 200 amps. I suspect there is a short in the amp, specially if you tried to connect it hot and drew a spark. That will kill a lot of electronics. .

Q: I looked on 3 of my friends plus mine and looked at the cord that comes from the big block power supply thing for the xbox 360 and every one of them looked differant. Why is that?: one of them are for a regular tv and the other is for hd. if you look at the top of the cord( where it gets pulged into the xbox) there is a switch that says tv and hd. if you pulg in tv and switch the switch to hd you will notice you can't see anything

Q: trying to install new amplifier; running cable from battery through firewall to the trunk; done on several cars before; looking for advice or best practices...: if you look under the hood, facing the cars windshield, the far right corner against the firewall, there's a dip in the sheet metal. if you drill there at the lowest point, the hole will come out behind and a little above your brake pedal. run it through there , under the side trim. not only will this seperate power from rca wires (eliminating ground noise) but it will be easy to run. if you want a professional job, take out your seats (all of em) and run it under the carpet, but i'm sure you have to remove the center console. my buddy ran the wire under the car and drilled through the floor and ran it under the rug but that is such a bad idea because if the wire corrodes from weather you will have a fire.

Q: Acoustic Audio 10 inch home theatre powered subwoofer use speaker wire or subwoofer cable?: As you used the phrase The wire that was included for the subwoofer, I'll presume that we're talking Home Theater in a Box here. As someone above mentioned, sub frequencies can use a lot more energy. In a larger system where you are consistently running several hundred watts over longer distances, a larger wire would probably be benificial. For a HTIB system such as yours the wire that came with it would be more than adequate over the short run that would typically be needed. Having said that, there is nothing wrong and nothing will be damaged by going to a larger gauge wire. Just not a lot of benefit.

Q: where do i put the wire through from the inside of the car to the battery located under the hood?: you have to find a hole in the firewall and make your way through.. I have an 02 explorer, i found a plastic cap where some electrical wires went through to the engine, so i drilled another hole in the cap, (very carefully) and used a rubber washer to seal the gap. Make sure you dont leave any gaps in your firewall, and avoid drilling a hole in the actual firewall AT ALL COSTS!! hope that helps!
