Q: Bought 60 Inch Full HD LED LCD Smart 3D TV by Sony while stationed in Germany. it came with a european a/c socket attached, so currently searching for an American socket replacement however I can't seem to find one with the same specs! Model is KDL60W850B: 1- if it is a DVB tv (german system), it will not work in the usausa system ATSC . 2- a power cable is determined by x volts y amperes for example 250v and 10a it means you can use it on 250v maximum .more voltage than that damages its insulation material and 10a current maximum more than that current causes the cable gets hot so risk of fire . 3- fortunately the power supply is SWITCHING MODE. so you can use it on 120v .

Q: Included in my EVGA 8800gs box was a 6 pin to 2x 4 pin molex power cable. My current power supply already had a 6 pin power cable.My Cooler Master 500w power supply has dual rails pushing 16amp each. The requirements for the EVGA 8800gs are:Minimum of a 400 Watt power supply.(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 22 Amp Amps.)Notice the 22 amp. To supply this power, am I supposed to connect the 6 pin to 2x 4 pin molex power cable to each of the 16amp rails from my power supply therefor providing 32amp? How am I supposed to get 22amps to the card?Most all power supplies I see that are dual railed go no higher than 20amp per rail.Any thoughts? Thanks,Brad: If you already have a 6 pin then your good to go. The 2x 4pin molex connectors are for the case if you didn't have the 6pin. The rails on a PSU are not independant, they are combined. Look for the maximum loading of your PSU.

Q: I just bought a Sandisk MP3 player e200 series. It come with a USB connector which according to the product manual, its also used for power charging.Unfortunatly, it doesn't work with my laptop. I've tried to used the USB cable to charge but no power transmit to the mp3 at all. I guess my USP port in my laptop has too low capacity.I would like to buy a separate power cable for my MP3 but I am not sure if it is available. I can not find information in the Sandisk website either.Anyone knows that is there a seperate cable power for this model and where can I buy it?: No it charges through the USB cable. You can use a powered USB hub or buy a USB wall plug to charge it.

Q: Have a 480 volts 3 phase 16 amp motor. Need 400 ft of extention cord. Is is OK to use a SOOW 10/4 cable, the voltage drop is 2.67%(12 volts). Machine is powerd by a generator that I can run at 500 volts to counter the voltage drop.8/4 cable cost twice as much, but the voltage drop is 1.7%(8 volts).: I suppose this may work, just remember make sure you don't overheat your cord, and your motor runs ok with this setup, over or under voltage is hard on a motor. try using a volt meter on the motor while under load in order to find the proper voltage for the generator, that % is calculated and may not be acurate in real life.

Q: I am upgrading a two-year-old higher end HP tower to include a mirrored hard drive. I did a little vacuuming and inspection and plan to order the exact model drive which is in there now. I noticed that the SATA cables used include a simple plastic latching mechanism in the connector. I checked CDW and found quot;latchingcables made by Startech which I assume should work (but the latching part is made of stamped metal). My biggest question is the power connector. The factory installed molex-to-SATA adapter also has this latch mechanism (on the black hard drive side), but I cannot find a cable anywhere mentioning a latch on the power connector. THANKS: Running 2 seperate power cables is fine. In theory the current will split and each cable will carry the same amount of current. In reality, it will not be exact but it will be so friggin close that it doesn't matter!!! Yes you can run multiple cables, but two lengths of 4ga is going to cost you more than one length of 2ga. Unless you already have the stuff laying around, just get the larger cable. Besides, if you run two seperate cables, you will need to use some sort of distribution block to tie the two cables back together at the amp then have a conductor capable of carrying the current to your amp, or all your heavy cable doesn't mean squat. Less money will be spent in the long run by using one larger cable! As for how much current a size cable can carry: 14ga = 15A 12ga = 20A 10ga = 30A 8ga = 80A 6ga = 105A 4ga = 140A 2ga = 190A 1ga = 220A 1/0 = 260A 2/0 = 300A These wire ampacities are according to the NEC (National Electrical Code) and are set for wire to be used in any structure. The wire can actually carry more current than what I have listed, taking consideration that the wire is in an environment that it can be cooled or is in an open-air environment. If you run two 4ga wire to your amp, you have the ability to supply the amp with 280A of current (by multiplying 140 * 2). Do you need larger wire running to your amp? Only if you are having a voltage drop at your amp. The idea is to be able to supply the amp with 12V at its maximum current. If you run too small a wire to the amp, as you crank up the volume the ampacity of the wire will be maxed out and your 12V turns into something like 11,10,9... volts and your amp no longer amplifies your tunes.
