- Q: I just bought a new roll of Reptile Carpet. I've never used Reptile Carpet before, but I decided that you have to experiment with substrates to see what your reptiles like best. Anyway, I want to know how to clean the carpet. The roll I bought came in a kit with other things made by Zilla (reptile supply brand. and it didn't come with any instructions on cleaning the carpet. I know you can clean it, because I've read online comments on Zilla being a very good brand of carpet because of it's eco-friendly (made out of recycled bottles re-usable by washing). Could tell me how they clean their Zilla Reptile Carpet, or any other brand that is basically that same as Zilla's carpet? I would like to know how you clean it, what detergents/soaps (if any) to use, and how to dry (is it machine dryable, or air dryable?)
- Yes, you can wash it I'm not sure what detergent you can use however. What I do is I see if there is any feces (i trained my dragons to poop on the newspaper), and if there is, I pick it off and throw it away. Next I scrub it really good with a wet sponge, scrub every side of it. Then I re-check it, go over it again, but if it is completely soiled with waste I have a spare carpet (most people like myself have two). A scrub brush may be needed to clean the poop and such. If you see any loops, make sure to cut them off, this can result badly. If you have the carpet with loops I'd suggest getting rid of it, but Zilla is a trusted brand if I'm correct. I hand wash it with soap and water. Just a suggestion, I think it's easier because I don't really trust the washer machine -_- as the other person said, let it air dry. My beardies rest on my shoulder on the couch and watch TV with me as their carpet dries :D

- Is it a playroom or is it your adult family room? That makes a difference. It shouldn't be both. His room however is a different story. In his room put in carpet squares that are flat and can be removed and replaced as necessary. In your adult family room the carpet is your choice and not your sons. Every room in your home is not dedicated to what your son needs but what you need as an adult. Having children does not mean that every room in your home is dedicated to what they need. You have to have an adult living space that has nothing to do with children. Give him what he needs in his own room and nothing more.

- When I did a search for ivy gold, I found cars. Is this a carpet in a car? If so, try you local junk yard for a replacement carpet.

- If the carpet cleaners couldn't get it out, you may be out of luck. One thing you can try is shampoo. Try just a tiny, tiny little bit on a washcloth, and try to get down into the fibers. Work on a small stain first to see if this method is successful. The shampoo will lather up, so you'll need to remove the suds afterwards. If you have one of those hand-held spot cleaners for carpets, try that. These handy little machines can either scrub a spot, or suck the water and cleaning product from the carpet. I spilled some liquid make-up on my light colored carpet, and I tried everything I knew to do - to no avail. Out of desperation, I tried shampoo, and it worked. Another idea is to call a company that makes hair color, like Clairol or Revlon, Garnier, one of those. They usually have a customer help service, and they may know something we don't. I'm sure there's a 1 800 number on the box, or you could Google Clairol Customer Service, maybe. Good luck.

- You most likely could do that if you add about a 1/4 cup of anti-foaming agent to each batch of soap solutuion. It is available at the carpet cleaning rental station at most grocery stores. It keeps the foam from overwhelming and damaging the machine.
- Q: I collect HAND MADE wool, silk, and cotton Carpets / Area Rugs from Iran (Persian Rugs like Qum silk prayer rugs that I display as a wall tapistry, plus floor rugs like Tabriz Kermanshah), Pakistan (Bukkhara)...so my question is what are the classical Turkish HAND MADE CARPETS callled (please no cheap Belgium machine made crap) and I've heards that they are sold at Instanbul's Old Bazzar (if I'm saying it right, and provide info on how to bargain with vendor)...please give description by NAME (generally carpets know by city/village), PATTERN (ex geometric, medallion in center), and COLORS if possible, thanksp.s. in the event I'm most likely to get Trolled at, YES I did say Persian Qum silk PRAYER rug, but NO I don't pray on it I'm not Muslim, it's just a breathtaking piece of art
