- Q: i do not want a zebra print rug, i want wall to wall carpeting.i'm not sure where to buy it so please help!also how do you think it would look hot pink walls with the zebra carpet?
- Carpeting isn't cheap, so when you have it installed wall-to-wall, you should make it so that it can transcend fads, trends, and personal taste periods. I understand your design concept and support it wholeheartedly. Having said that, I'd suggest getting carpeting in an off-white or black, then getting a zebra area rug. In a few years, if/when you're 'over' the zebra-ness of the room, you only have to replace an area rug and not a whole room of carpeting. Insofar as the pink, I'd use it as an accent color in the space. Pop it in with pillows, lamp shades, etc. Those are less expensive, too, to replace down the road.
- Q: they are 4months old, a boy girl, fixed.they keep scratching and pulling up the edges so that its coming up in strings/scrunched threads. I've tried blocking the area with objects, and a scratching post, b4 but they just go behind it somehow or go find somewhere else to pull up the rug. i've tried to remove them from the area when they do and say things like no off..but of course being cats they dont listen to me :(how can i make them stop????????????? any help would be amazing! thanks in advance!!
- In general, cats don't listen. You have to beat them at their own game. Make sure they have a scratching post to get their scratching needs out. If they don't seem interested, rub some catnip on the post. If they continue to scratch the rug, sit by with a squirt bottle and squirt them the next time they do it. Cats hate water and it won't take long before they learn to leave it alone.
- Q: I have these holes in my carpet in multiple places (dog). To replace it, I was going to use the carpet in the closet. How do I do that (step by step instructions)? Where can I find carpet remenants?
- Take a utility knife and cut out a piece of carpet large enough to cover the hole from the closet. Be careful not to cut out the padding underneath unless you need it where the doggie made the holes. Place the carpet plug over the hole making certain it meets the remaining carpet. You can secure the plug using a hot glue gun or running double sided carpet tape around the edges. Now use your fingernails to blend the fibers on the plug into the fibers of the surrounding carpet. You can find carpet remnants at almost any carpet store, just ask. Also for larger remnants they sell end rolls at the Home Depot and Lowes.

- Q: My 5 year old son and i are moving into a flat that has an existing carpet which the owner refuses to lift. I had a carpet cleaning company come in to clean the carpets today and they now seem ok. MY question is : Can carpets cause respiratory problems in young kids? If your carpet isn t glue down now and its a standard install , it will run from free rip out to 50 cents a s/f (about 100/125 $) One thing you may run into is disposal of the old and that can run from 75 /100$ All these prices vary from area to area but your looking at 1000$ for all you ve listed.
