- Q: There are a few small pieces of carpet in the home, I want to splice into one piece. How to do it? Use the line or glue?
- I once bought a sutured carpet, sutured piece by piece, then paste plastic gummed paper on the joints preventing the joints from being scratched or brought back, and then the lay carpet flat, suture seams with dense villi in curved needle. But I now feel that the carpet is not very good, although relatively small, but very beautiful. I prefer the floor, because the carpet is dirty, bacteria will be more too.
- Q: I have an area rug that my poodle urinates on when she's mad at me. Long story short she did it again while I was out and I didn't find it until it was dry and smelling up my apartment. Does anyone have tips on how to clean the rug myself without renting a shampooer and maybe how to deodorize the rug. I've tried fabreese and the baking soda stuff you leave on the carpet and vacuum up later. they didn't seem to work before so If anyone has anything else to suggest I'd be most grateful.Thanks
- Baking soda is a good one which you've already used. Mix baking soda and ammonia together and hot water. Put a few heavy towels or something absorbent under where your poodle urinates and just pour the solution onto the urine places and allow it to sit on those spots a good while to soak through it. Pull the heavy towels you had under it and put them into your washing machine. Grab more dry towels and put them under the spots again. Now pour white vinegar and hot water over the same spots and allow that to soak through again. Grab those towels and wash them too. It should have cleaned the area rug as much as possible this way. A lot of work but worth saving your area rug and getting the oder out. I bought a small green spot bot steam cleaner and use it on spots and the suction for pulling out solution works great for these jobs. You might have a lot of use for one these machines around your apartment. Best of Luck to you.

- Iron it is the best way but make sure you turn the rug over and iron it on the bottom side. Ironing on the top side does not solve the problem.
- Q: I have a Large area rug that I need cleaned. A woman that had a HOUSE TRAINED dog gave it to me. I want to clean it as the dog walked and layed down on this rug as well. The dog never urinated on this rug which is good. It just smells like dog so I want to get it cleaned. I don't think a rug doctor will do the trick. Does anyone out there know where I can take it to be cleaned. Again this a LARGE. thanks. Or if you have used a rug doctor or s specific cleaner to remove (not cover up) the odor please let me know what works for you.

- I have never heard of disposable kitchen rugs. Perhaps just buy s really cheap rug and then you can always throw it away when you are done. Some cheap area rugs are available at the following places:
- Q: we moved into a new house...the carpet is really very very messy..my apartment guys refused to change the carpet....looks like it has not been cleaned for months...they are number of stains on the carpet(very old ones).....i have new bisell carpet cleaner...but it is of no use.....i hate to see my carpet like this...is it possible to make it look like a new one....plzzzzz help
- there are two ways to go as i see it- either hire someone to clean your carpets- one of those companies that has a van/truck mounted system can do a good job- if they will take the time to DO a good job- not just a quickie. you can pre-soak some of the stains with a low-sudzing, preferably enzyme based soulution like a laundry pre soak sprayed or poured on before they get there. bleach is not a good idea. they will move furniture for you. The other way, less costly, but good exercise, is to rent one of those machines at the grocery, home improvement store etc. they are about $20-30 for 24 hours- so do it on day off so you can go back over areas that need it since you have the machine for a while. the machines are usually one piece, simple to use, heavy any you are supposed to buy the rug shampoo that they sell with the machine. I have used Mr clean just as well, costs less though they of course dont approve of that. Do the pre soak spots thing the same, put as much furniture in another room, put legs of sofa up on a big cooking pot or mixing bowl to let air underneath for drying. rent the kind of cleaner that sprays the water/soap on, also has a vibrating brush, and then you drag the whole unit backwards with the vacuum area in contact with the carpet. it really gets the dirt and water out. Berber carpet is a little harder because it is bumpy, i have used these many times, i am a do it yourselfer and it is easy. use water as hot as you can get it out of the tub faucet, dump the dirty stuff down the toilet. i have a home rug cleaner and it is lousy too for anything major. your back may be sore when you get done, but it will work great. - molded floor carpet should just lay down maybe some spray trim adhesive for the jute backing. but only a little. I prefer 3M brand at auto supply stores

- Trust me throw it in the wash and set it to the setting you usually do to wash colors it`ll turn out just fine . Don`t bleach it though just use laundry detergent. And to dry it throw in the dryer. I have the same rug I tried this before I reccomend it.
