Q: My cat is getting hair all over the white chair she is clawing the chair aii up.: The only way that an animal can learn what it can and can't do in it's living space is by it's owners teaching it. I would try squirting him/her with a water bottle - that seems to work well. There are several other options...check with your vet or at the pet store.

Q: I plan on making some chair covers for a reception next summer. I would like to try to make them myself, but was wondering how many yards it would take for each cover. I want to use cheap white fabric as long as it's not see through.: If you're going to the expense of having cloth chair covers, DO NOT use plastic table cloths. It will look incredibly TACKY. The best way to handle this situation is to find a seamstress who can sew the necessary table cloths. You can find great fabric on sale then pay the seamstress to make the table cloths. Doing so will be cheaper AND will give a more personal touch to your decor since you can really pick fabric that ties your decor together.

Q: I am needing to reupholster my dining chairs, and I found some fabric that I really love. It is woven cotton (quilting weight). Can it be used for the dining chairs if I use a protective treatment on it to protect it?: 100% cotton is not a great fabric for upholstery, upholstery fabric is much thicker and tested for durability. Cotton will also absorb a lot of dirt dust and is hard to spot clean. Treating it may temporarily make it more durable.

How else can I improve my riding off-horse?: You can straddle a chair and practice rising up and down. This is of questionable usefulness for practicing posting because when you are on a horse, you are supposed to have the horse's action lift you out of the saddle (mostly). What doing it over a chair will help with is your thigh strength, and the feel of being balanced, with your heels under your hips. Overall, I don't think it will help you improve your riding very much, but if you're bored and wish you were riding, it can do no harm.

And do you know what your guests will be looking at during your vows? Besides looking at the woman in the big white dress (you), they will be staring at the back of the head of the person in front of them. They will not be looking at the chair covers. I would save my money and bypass this needless expense. I can guarantee you that none of your guests will be thinking...gee this would have been a nice wedding except that the chairs weren't covered at the museum.
