- I just use cheap plastic fishing tackle boxes or tool boxes. Cut or drill holes in the sides or ends for your cables, roll the cables up and twist tie them inside the box, allowing just enough on the outside of the box to reach their connecting points. Works great and it's easy to find black or gray boxes to match your computer so it doesn't look bad either.
- Q: ...suction cup mount?There is a port on the side of the device that the vehicle power cable fits into, but the manual says the vehicle power cable is designed to plug into the suction cup mount. What happens if I plug the vehicle power cable directly into the gps unit? Does the unit operate, but not charge? Does it not operate at all? Does it operate and charge? Before trying it, I'd like to know so I don't harm the device.
- According to the Nuvi 370 instruction manual - this unit appears to be designed to receive power only through the suction cup mount. In other words - the vehicle power adapter connects to the suction cup mount, and when you attach the device to the mount - it receives the power it needs to operate. Looking at the photo in the owner's manual and the identified ports and controls - the device does not appear to have a direct connect power/charge port to which the vehicle power cable can directly connected. If your device does in fact have a charge/power port on its side that the vehicle power cable can directly connect to, then you should be able to make that connection without any problem. It should operate and charge your device just fine. Note: Your unit has a USB port for connecting the device to a computer for updates and for charging (via the USB port). If you want to charge the device without using the suction cup mount (and therefore the vehicle power cable to which it connects), you have the option of buying a vehicle USB power converter/adapter that plugs into your vehicle's 12V power outlet. Then you would simply connect a USB cable from the USB power adapter to your device to charge it. Update: Reading the instructions in the owner's manual a little more closely - it would appear that you can certainly plug in the AC power adapter directly to the unit, although they are not really clear about it. (The manual could have been written a little more clearly in my opinion.) So again, I will reiterate that if the vehicle power adapter connector will mate directly to the device - then it will power and charge the device without having to use the suction cup mount, if that is your desire. BTW, congrats on your new Garmin 370 GPS unit. Really nice!

- you can always get one on OKorder but it may not be exactly the right kind. Just search for that model and power cable and you should find something. Just make sure its exactly the right fit for your printer. You can screw up the jack if it is not. You can also search for the part number on the HP website. if you buy it from hp however, it is likely to be overpriced and it will take a long time to ship if it is not in stock.

- Q: i cant seem to find a place to put my power cable to the inner part of the car.i dont seem to find a decent place to drill a hole to or the firewall i think its what itscalled, im using a buick regal 1992.... i was thinking of putting it through the door, is that safe?is it done sometimes or not recommended at all?
- I've gone through the door with 6 gauge wire, I wouldn't recommend this at all, but especially with anything larger than 6 gauge. It didn't really let any water in at all, but I must have gotten lucky, I've heard a bunch of horror stories with that. I'd say just look harder or if absolutely necessary, go through the floor, but make sure to seal it up good. Note: I was running a 450 watt amp at the time I had the 6 gauge wire, now I've got a 1000 watt mono amp with 0 gauge wire running through the firewall :-)
- Q: This is the second time the power cable has burned up. The cable itself frayed from overheating I suspect.
- It would have to be a combination of things that made it fray. Like, for example, being bent at an extreme angle while in use for long periods of time. Power cables get hot from normal use. The plastic insulation gets soft. If the power cable is laid in a comfortable position, if it is allowed to cool before being wrapped up, and there are no problems with the power adapter port on the laptop, a power adapter cable will last for the life of the laptop. Now, if you are using a Universal power brick, that is part of your problem. This laptop only requires a 65 watt adapter. Universal power adapters will push more juice to your laptop... up to 90 watts. This will cause the cables to get hotter. So, if you have not replaced it with a 19 volt 3.42amp brick specifically designed to work with your laptop... then you should do so. And feel free to buy one off OKorder. Same brick as what you get from Toshiba, for a fraction of the cost. end of line
- Q: so my old psu fryed itself, and i just ordered a new one, i have another psu that i can use but its only 350 watts, it has no gpu connector, can i still use my computer without the power for the gpu, i have no onboard video and i have a radeon hd 6850 256 bit gddr5. and my cpu is a amd phenom 2 x6 (six core) 1045tthankyou
- Please note HD 6850 is a high end gfx card and requires 6 pin power connector. if you want to fry you mobo - then use gfx card without 6 pin power!!!? while running the gfx card will try to take power fm mobo and that time to give support to gfx card your mobo will fry for sure. thanks
- Q: Only the ground cable is green, the two other cables are gray and I noticed that one is with stripes the other is not... The maker is Smart Choice. - there is more clue, one cable end is coded with a letter Z , other W , than G .... the G is probably the ground ( green ) . I need to know which one will connect to the black wire and which to the white one. Please help. Thank you
- stripe to white black to plain wire green to chassis. The white is neutral black is line bare wire is green
