Find the length and width of the rug.I don't really need an answer, but the process I would use to get the answer would be helpful. I'm assuming you have to wet up two equations to solve it. Q: can someone give me an estimate on replacing carpet with wood 10ft by 10ft =100sq.ft.: Ripping out the old carpet will cost less than 50$ if its a standard pad/carpet combo. Often for a job that size you can get an installer to toss that in as part of the job but don t assume so. Easy enough to do yourself . Carpet disposal is always a problem too. Check on whats available in your area , through a disposal company , your local landfill or recycling center. Wood installation does go from 3/ 3.5$ a s/f depending on the rate in your area. As far as the wood itself, it can go from 3 $ a s/f for basic 2 1/4 oak to as high as 20 $ a s/f for exotic woods. So your in the ball park or 7$ a s/f ( and up) ..This won t include any unseen floor prep. This is always a good idea to pull the carpet up yourself and inspect the floor. I have one in an upstairs bedroom and had to have the carpeting cut around it when I re-did the room. The l heat vent is 12 inches square. Q: are there any home made recipes i can use for removing stains out of the carpet?thanks.: It will depend on what the stain is, rubbing alcohol will remove some stains, oxy clean, greased lightening, dawn dish washing soap, penetrate the stain and blot up with old towel until stain lightens this may take several applications, then use a soft bristle brush to scrub, blot up excess moisture and soap rinse well and blot... There are also stain and spot removers that can be purchased but I have found that most don't work as good as they say...all else fails rent a rug doctor!
