Q: There's a nice hole in the carpet that's pretty deep. How do you fix it?
make the hole in the carpet an even circle and replace it with a piece of carpet from somewhere else in the room under something your not planning to move like a bed dresser t.v etc. You can cut the carpet with a razor blade and glue the piece in to the problem hole with gorilla glue
Q: I only lived here for one year and my dog left some poo stains on the carpet that i cant get off, and I didn't pay any pet deposit. Is it mandatory for all apartments to change the carpet?
I have never heard of the tenant changing the carpet. Usually the apartment complex will look at and assess the carpet to determine if it can be cleaned to a reasonable degree. This is done after you have moved everything out and handed in your keys. If the carpet is older than six years (at least in my complex) when the renter is moved out then it is automatically replaced, saving whatever we can for patches in other apartments such as flood damage or burn holes. I recommend having a professional carpet cleaning company with a truck mounted steam cleaner come and give you their assessment on the carpet. Ask them if they think they can get the carpet clean. If not, don't have them do it, as you will be wasting your time and money. As far as the carpet replacement goes, depending on your location ( I'm located in the Midwestern United States) You can figure on about $10.00 a square yard, depending on the installers agreement with the complex and the quality of the carpet and pad it could be a little more or a little less, but $10.00 is a pretty safe estimate.. This is then deducted from you deposit check before it is sent to you. If the carpet is in reasonable condition then you are not charged anything for the automatic steam cleaning that takes place when a tenant moves out. GOOD LUCK!!!
Q: I am thinking of buying a carpet shampooer. We just bought a house that has a lot of carpet. Is it smarter to buy a shapooer or keep having someone come in and do it for us? And if a shampooer is ideal which is the best brand?
Depending on how often you shampoo your carpet, you will definately get your monies worth in just a couple months or so. My daughter and I have asthma and I have 3 kids...that's enough said, so I clean my carpets about every 6 weeks due to the asthma whether they need it or not. I bought a bissel from wal-mart for about $80 so I had gotten my moneys worth in just two cleanings. I've now had that same bissell about 5 years so it is very worth it just purchase one. I love mine and my sister n law and friends had borrowed it a few times and decided to just buy one for themselves and have never been sorry!!
Q: Water was spilled on his rug a few days ago and now the smell of skunk where the water was spilled is becoming overwhelming. Tried scrubbing it with soap but once it dried the smell came back. And there absolutely was no skunk in the house. No animals in the house either. Wondering if my daughter peed on that spot ( she pulls her diaper off sometimes). Please suggest something to get rid of the smell I can't afford the steam cleaner right now but I have a wet/dry shop vac.10 points for best answer thanks in advance for your help
Boys track all kinds of smelly things into the house on their feet. It could be skunk smell. Everyone who has told you to use plain white vinegar is right. If you want to heat it to near boiling, that could not hurt either. Then dry as best as you can with white towels or color fast towels. Use the shop vac to extract as much water as you can and put a fan on the spot. You want to get it as dry as possible. Health food stores and pet stores sometimes sell safe enzymatic cleaners for pet stains. They really do work on all kinds of animal or urine stains and odors. Tomato juice works because of the enzymes in tomatoes. I would not put it on your carpet. It will smell like rotten tomatoes over time, and stain your carpet red. If your son did get into a patch of ground where a skunk had been, some of the smell might also be lingering on his shoes and clothes. Sometimes time is the best solution to bad smells. Time, fresh air and sunshine all work wonders. If you can't pick up the smell right away, just keep the room picked up, open a window when you can, run a fan to keep air circulating around, and open the blinds.
Q: I have recently noticed that my cob's rug is rubbing slightly so I am going to buy her a Rug Bib to prevent this. She wears a 6'9 rug so what size would u recommend?
Hmm. A perennial problem is rug rubbing! First of all, look at the style of the rug and see if there is another style you could get. Some rugs are better for different shapes of horse than others. Horse and Hound did some articles on different types of rugs. Look them up on horseandhound .uk and go to archives. Also rub surgical spirits into areas that are already rubbing to toughen the skin and prevent sores. Also good to put on the saddle and girth areas of an unfit horse a few days before saddling him. I think from the length of the rug that he is a pretty large horse, so I would go for an extra large if he has a particularly wide chest, or large if his chest is not so wide. or measure him from shoulder to shoulder and from withers to tops of his legs and phone the company and see what they suggest. It is difficult to tell without seeing the horse.
Q: I have a Rainbow vacuum (which, in my opinion, is the best vacuum EVER). However, I've noticed that no matter how many times I vaccum my carpet (which is only about 5 months old) the water is always disgusting and dirty. Even if I vacuum 4 times in a row, changing the water in my vacuum each time, the water never gets clear. My friends have said that is what happens to carpets, that the dirt just never really comes all the way out. Is this true, or is it time for a new vacuum?
I know that under the carpet the spongy part never stays clean . everything that gets on top of the carpet dirt... drinks ... spilt food whatever tends to go to the bottom of the carpet all the way to the spongy part and theres nothing you can do about it unless you get the carpet ripped up ... carpets are really bad to have when you have pets because of this and the stink part stays for years ... next house i get is going to have nothing but floor due to this !!!!!!
Q: can Pulling the Rug kill Jinzo?
No, because Jinzo's effect DOESN'T activate when he is summoned, unlike the monarchs and gadgets. His effect activtes right away, but it is also a continuous effect.
Q: The toilet overflowed the whole bathroom, and it left a huge puddle in the hallway. The carpet is completely soaked. It's clean water though, it's been doing this for days now, but we've been catching it before it reached the carpet. We have a shampooer that is currently sucking up the water, but I need more than that. Also, taking up the carpet from the ground is not an option. One more thing- any good ways to clean it once it gets dry?
Hi,I agree with wains world, borrow someone dehumidifier after you,ve gotten up all water possible and run th dehumidifier for a few days.Have a plumber fix the water control valve and pipes or replace!
Q: I need a good turnout rug for my delightful stallion as he manages to break every rug I put on him, wether it being ripping off a belly strap (which I don't know how he does because he is in a field with post and electric fence, so there is no barbed wire or anything for him to tear it on) or he breaks the clips on the leg straps, then the rug slides. I need a proper turnout rug, with a bit of quilting for winter, not just a thin sheet. It obviously needs to be fairly sturdy and hardy but because of the number of rugs I have already bought him, then I can't afford to spend a fortune on it. if it was under ?30 that would be great, but absolutly nothing over ?40.So does anybody know any good brands or can find me links to good ones? Thanks in advance
It doesn't matter so much what brand you get, just look for the denier count (don't get blankets with denier under 1000 as they're easily ripped). Some of Pessoas turnouts have a denier of 1800 while the average blanket is only around 800. Pessoa blankets cost a little more, but it's cheaper than buying a new rug every year! Hope this helps!
Q: dried into wool rug
I'm a floor manager in a Specialty Pet Food Store (Not Petco or Petsmart, a very high end store), and allow me to give you a few tips... Trust me Simple Solution will work, even if its soaked to the carpet pad.... there is no need of replacing carpet. Simple Solution is amazing, its not only bacteria fighting enzymes but they add a bacteria fighting bacteria. This bacteria only works when its at least moist. the best way to clean is to use simple solution, let it soak in all the way to the carpet pad. Then clean up with a wet rag. Then spray a little bit more, making the area just slightly damp, this will kill the bacteria that cause odor. Do not be afraid to repeat a time or two. DO NOT DRY IT OUT!!!!
