Q: We're looking to buy new carpet for a home. We want to buy nice, durable, long-lasting carpet, but, like everyone, we have a budget and are middle class.Any tips, pitfalls to avoid, good brands, avoid these brands, etc...?: Long lasting carpet, over all is 100% nylon. Whether its a berber, plush , textured or a frieze. Watch out for free labor ( I never worked for free do you?) I have all the faith in Mohawk they covered their warranties. Very important, don t skimp on pad. Get the best you can afford. And have it in writing the pad will cover the manufactures warranty. Some sales and advertised sales will include a cheap pad. Pads support the carpet and prevent the carpet backing from breaking down premature. Vacuum every few days. Carpet makers say to do it every day. Have carpet clean professionally by a certified cleaner. Have it done on a regular basis. Have every thing in writing. This will include the type, color style what weight pad, whos doing the rip out and disposal of the old. Q: my doctor prescribed me this benzoyl peroxide gel for my face and i accidentally got a big glob of it on my rug. I went to clean it up with these red tissues and it started to turn my rug red! The next day, I put this carpet cleaner on it (one that has to sit for 15 minutes then you vacuum it) and it turned it orange!: Also if there are no scraps you may be able to go to a carpet store or Home Depot with a sample and get a remnant. You can also cut out a section from where it won't be noticed such as the back of a closet and then just switch the sections.

Q: cannot stop cat from urinating on rug. i keep washing and nothing helps . the smell is driving me crazy: so some distance as getting rid of the scent, sturdy success!! in keeping with risk try something like Odo-ban. Alot of daycares use it. The cat prolly keeps urinating on the rug because of the fact it smells the place it has went formerly, the reason cats use muddle bins. bite the rug, in case you get a clean one, take care of any 'injuries' at present with windex or different ammonia cleansing products to dissuade the cat from persevering with the habit.
