- Q: I am redoing a little iron vanity chair that at one time had a pillow back. I don't have the orig hardware for it and would like to know how to do this.
- So are you asking how to reupholster the back of a small chair? Cut a piece of fabric at least 6 bigger on all sides, get a piece of batting 1/2 smaller all around than the area being covered and a staple or glue gun. Put the batting on the area to be covered, cover it in the fabric and pull the fabric to the back, securing with staples and or glue. Standard upholstery. Other wise, make a pillow the right size and shape and then tie it in place. I would add more detail to the question, maybe a pic of the chair?
- Q: I keep find these wads of long hair at the edge of my office chair fabric seat. It is so disgusting. Why do so many hairs gather in that spot?
- You slide down the chair to get off or while you're working. Your hair falls out.. or somebody else's hair does, and they land onto the chair into the seat. You somehow manage to get them underneath your butt and you slide down the chair and this sweeps all the hairs togehter into clumps at the edge of the chair.
- Q: Describe your chair.
- It's a swiveling office chair with adjustable seat, arms, and back. Dark red fabric seat and back, black frame and base. I've had it about 10 years.
- Q: Anyone else does this? After about 10-15 minutes of sitting on a chair, I notice my butt is right on the edge, so I have to stand up and sit again properly. Getting very annoying.
- most likely cuz your original 'sit' is not proper...you are suppose to sit with your tailbone against the back of the chair, not on the seat of the chair...most of us sit with the tailbone on the seat cuz we'll feel foolish to sit like a 2y/o with our feet up in the air since the cushion's depth fits a 6'8 male thigh...once you sit with your tailbone on the seat, your upper trunk posturing is actually behind the line of gravity...so then our shoulders blades start slowly adding more pressure, therefore more pressure curvature to the lower spine, gravity starts to slowly pull you down until your almost anything but falling off the seat...sit upright, like your mom bopped you on the head for a million one times..in those real deep chairs, ya need an extra cushion behind you until manufacturers start getting sued over their dysfunctional setup of chairs sofas...we think we're comfortable there, but it ruins everyone's back...car seats are not an exception either....
- Q: i have a power wheel chair i need to know if i can make a plug to fit the chair and be able to connect it to my laptop to change the settings to make it stop faster and make it faster cause i need the speed to cross the hiways where i live at or a place where i can buy the controller to do this with
- Drop him a line, I'm sure he'd have a answer for you. You'll see from his site, he can access his wheelchair's settings via his computer because there is a screencap of it's settings. Somewhere on that site it's bound to say how he does it. If not, ask him 3
- Q: I need to get a high chair for my daughter because feeding her solids while she's in her bumbo is killing my back. Do any moms have any advice for purchasing a high chair? any recommended brands or types? any features to look for?
- Since a high chair isn't a high injury risk thing (like a crib or car seat), buy it used. You'll save tons of money. Check Craigslist and garage sales.
- Q: every time i go to sit on a chair in my loft my cats sitting in it all strait with this creepy grin on his face lol he always does this why.i could i understand if he thought it was comfortable but he sits in it straight so hes not really laying down and why does he have the creepy grin on his face lol?
- Every cat has it's own unique personality. Your kitty just happens to be plain obsessed with the chair and likes to sit straight, is it in sunlight? Because cats will often sit in the same spot and sit up straight if there is sunlight gleaming in the spot. The creepy grin is showing he is loving sitting there and enjoying it. He may also like sitting there because it's your chair or he thinks it comfy.
- Q: I have a desk chair that leans back and one of the arms broke. When you lean back in the chair it puts alot of stress on the arm and it finally snapped after a couple of years. Now when you sit in the chair it twists and it really uncomfortable. I can solve the problem by putting the arm back together and was thinking that i could make a splint kind of thing for it, but the arm is a weird curvy shape and any straight material won't work. Any suggestions for materials that i could use would be appreciated or if you have another idea of how to fix it, i would happy to hear them. Please don't say super glue or tape because it will not work. Also, i'm not buying a new chair so please don't leave that as a response either.
- You are wrong about using a glue. But then glue is not the right word anyway. Use a material called PL Premium Construction Adhesive. Tube section at many locations. Just don't spend much time breathing it and do not get it on your skin. This adhesive is used to stick most anything to anything - forever. Builders and masons have used this stuff for decades. The old joke is that PL will stick a Volkswagon to a brick wall. How strong? Well, if you use PL to stick two large boards together, you will never be able to break the bond - even with an axe or a ten pound sledge. The wood will be smashed to pieces and the two adhesive faces will still be solidly stuck together. As it relates to your work, I have used it to repair runners on rocking chairs and legs that have snapped apart. Still going thirty years later.
- Q: i've got a 5 year old Staples deal that cost about $120 and it's not cutting it any more. If i want to get serious about a home office chair, what is a good brand/model?
- If you can afford it, Steelcase chairs are great. I've bought two over the years and they offer great back support and have many adjustments available to fit your body type. They aren't cheap but you get what you pay for. I figure with as much time as I spend in an office chair, it's a wise investment.
- Q: Last night on Smackdown, as Batista was beating on The Undertaker with that chair, Tod Grisham made the comment that we've never seen The Undertaker beaten like this before (or words to that effect). Yeah I know, announcers generally say things like this to build hype for an upcoming PPV match, but Grisham would have us believe that nobody ever had the guts before to repeatedly hit Taker with a chair.I know the Undertaker has been beaten down before by at least one chair attack that was worse than what Batista did. I won't name it because I want to hear from you. Does anybody remember that chair attack? Who was the perpetrator? And can you list any other times when Taker was beaten down by a repeated chair attack?
- i am not too sure about the names i will give, but i am pretty sure Edge beat down Undertaker with a chair attack last year when they were feuding. Brock Lesnar ''broke'' Undertakers arm back in 2002 with a chair,i think(might have been a pipe,i forget sorry) Mick foley did i think....when they were feuding back in the 90's (was only born back so i ain't sure)
