- Q: I just moved into a brand new house to then spill bright red nail polish all over the carpet any ideas on how to get it out without ruining the carpet?
- This happened to me a few weeks ago. Mine was the ENTIRE bottle that my cat knocked over while I was asleep!! I got it out though!! You have to use a lot of nail polish remover....this will make it spread a little, but for me that was ok.. Once I got out what I could with the nail polish remover, I put a mixture of 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide and 1 tablespoon ammonia on it and saturated it. After that, I put saran wrap over it and then put a stack of books on top of it and left it over night. This helped tremendously! Then I just used boiling hot water, carpet cleaner, and a little more nail polish remover to get the rest out. It worked too. - Dirt is one problem, pet urine, and pet feces is quite another. You can use a scrub brush on a worst places in the carpet, then rent a carpet cleaner to finish the job. If your carpet smells like animal urine, you will never get the odor out. Just rip up the carpet and thoroughly wash the floors underneath.

- rob has a good answer, also check around with friends and family, what they have bought, what they recomend for wear and cleaning, because they have lived with thier carpet for how long.... also don't forget about industrial carpet, you can get some really nice ones these days and they are Very hardwearing and can be quite beautiful. also don't forget the underlay, this is where the quality is not seen but felt!

- Carpet doesn't get Air Bubbles - it's just not possible. What you have is a badly stretched carpet. It's bunching up... You need to either have it stretched or replaced.

- For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/Gmwh7 I'd try to get to the store and get non-acetone nail polish remover. The acetone can melt the fibers in the carpet leaving you a bare spot instead of a blue one. I've heard lighter fluid, alcohol and sugar/water kind of paste.....I think I'd go with the non-acetone remover if you can get ahold of some. Or if worse comes to worse.....go over it with blue nail polish....
