- Q: It's about the size of the cotton part of a q-tip/cotton swab... It's just a regular shiny black color, but then again this is the first time I've seen something like this. I found it crawling on the carpet, so I ran across the room to get something to kill it with. By the time I was back, I saw it digging into my carpet! I was astonished, and disgusted, so I got my vacuum cleaner, and went over the entire room it was in. A little later I saw it again! What is this, are there more beetles, and WHAT DO I DO?!
- its a carpet beetle, and if you let the suckers go they will ruin your carpet ! just vacuuming wont get rid of them completly. there are sprays available for em !

- Definately take his wet rug off before you put the waterproof one on. Can you put the horse in a shelter whilst you swap rugs so you can towel dry his coat before putting dry rug on?

- Resolve High Traffic Foam , This stuff works good on many things , like My dad is a mechanic and I have white carpet and he wore his work boots in the house and had grease tracks all over and where he sit down and scrubbed his feet back and forth I just knew the carpet was ruined , but I used the Resolve High Traffic Foam , and It made the carpet the original color it was when we got it , so then I ha to clean the rest of it ..That is how good that it worked for me .This also cleaned stains from where my cat got sick and had bad diaerea Also baking soda works good at removing stains , You mix three parts baking soda with one part water (adjusting for consistency ) you want it tobe a thick paste but be able to spread it over the stain , and then with a brush scrub it and add more if needed , It may take more than once but It does work just not as good as the other stuff above , Once you have removed the stain you need to clean and rinse , just wipe it up with a rag , and rinse and repeat , What baking soda that you did not get up once dried will come up when vacuumed
- Q: They prefer dry food to wet. I am feeding them IAMS kitten food....I have washed the throw rugs but what is best to use on the carpet and how do i keep them from peeing again? They were just at the Animal Coaltion in June...and were pronounced healthy....
- Wash the throw rugs in a normal wash with a cup of white vinegar, followed by a regular washing. As for the carpet underneath, I have given a link that gives you several alternatives, all cheap and easy and fast. If the odors are not totally eliminated, they will return there over and over. In the event there is a litter box issue, I have provided a second link. I would also suggest you get them a fountain to encourage water drinking, even through that is not high right now on your agenda. And, just mentioning IAMS will draw out some strong haters of IAMS, but I don't see anything wrong with it, provided plentiful water is available.

- Yes you can. You pad should still be in good shape. When you order your carpeting just tell them you want to use the existing pad. There should be no problem.
- Q: Always been as natural as possible with my horses inc rugging, deciding if it's time to rug my old guy (I say old but he's 18 which isn't that old I know!). He's a warmblood, 18yrs used now as a pleasure/trail horse. Things to consider:I live in Queensland, Australia - the lowest the temperatures been since we've lived here is around 1-2 degrees celsius (that's 33-35 Fahrenheit) but it is quite windy (it doesn't snow here - I wish!)This horse spent most of his life in Victoria where the temperature got much lower much windier but he was with a large herd to snuggle up too.We have a run in shelter with just a roof minimal trees.He's a good doer keeping his condition (if anything slightly chubby!).Thanks for your contributions :)
- If he is a good doer and it's staying above freezing, I don't think you have to rug him at all. If he was older and having trouble keeping weight on, then maybe. For my horses (ages 27, 14, 14 and 3) I keep them natural until my 14 year old mare starts to shiver (usually at about 10 degrees Fahrenheit), then I'll blanket the three older ones. The 3 year old is a pony with a shaggy coat, and last winter was my first winter with him and I don't have a blanket to fit him.

- I just bought some carpet at Lowes, I don't even know the brand. I do know that resista is about the best for durability.
