- Q: Hi, everyone, Last friday night accidentally I park my car near gutter and it was raining very hard. Any way my car was flooded, the water level.thank God the car is working great except that the air bag light is not going off. I am planning to take it to body shop. Anyway my question is about the wet carpet in the car. I tried everything from using wet/dry vacuum to hair dry to leave the car open in the sun for few days. For some reason the moist is still there and has a bed perfume. Does anyone know how to fix this problem.thanks
- Things You’ll Need: Automotive carpet shampoo Carpet brush Carpet steam cleaner or wet/dry vacuum Step1 Pull out all floor mats and remove all trash, child seats and anything else that can be removed. Mats and other objects should be cleaned separately from the carpet so you aren't just transferring dirt around. Step2 Wipe down or brush off the ceiling, the interior side of the doors and the seats. This way, dirt from the interior of the car won't fall off into the car's carpet and undo your hard work. Step3 Vacuum the car carpet (do this dry). Vacuuming first gets all the loose grime up out of the carpet fibers so that you don't rub it in deeper when you later shampoo the carpet. This is a very important step that should never be skipped. Step4 Spray automotive carpet shampoo on the carpet. You should spray it on the most heavily soiled areas first so that it will have more time to penetrate the fibers. Any carpet shampoo should work, but automotive carpet shampoos are created specifically for the heavy grime commonly found in car carpets. Step5 Work the shampoo into the carpet using the carpet brush. Pay extra attention to stains and exceptionally dirty areas. Step6 Let the shampoo sit on the carpet for a few minutes and then vacuum with a wet/dry vacuum or a carpet steam cleaner. Afterward, touch the carpet to make sure it is not too damp. If it feels wet, open all the car doors and direct a fan toward the car interior to speed up drying. ________________ Pick a mild, dry day to shampoo car carpet. The carpet should be dried as quickly as possible Frequent vacuuming will lengthen the time between shampooing your car carpet. The sooner you get loose dirt up, the less time it has to penetrate the carpet fibers. Always read the directions on the carpet shampoo before using. Different shampoos may require different techniques.
- Q: The yellow rug's area is 59 Sq feet greater than the green's. Find the length of each rug. Please help i missed this day of school and my teacher quot;Forgotquot; that we did that that day. It is the only problem on my Algebra final I do not understand. Solve it algebraically and please show the steps. P.S. it is a 2 day test, I didn't check the test before we took it haha. I would teach myself, but I don't have my book because it's at my dad's house and my teacher isn't available tomorrow to teach me..
- Lets say: The length of green rug = GL The length of yellow rug = YL The width of green rug = GW The width of yellow rug = YW The areas: Green rug = GL*GW Yello rug = YL*YW What we have: GL = YL+7 YL = GL -7 GW = 3 YW = 5 YL*YW = GL*GW + 59 YL*YW = YL*5 = (GL-7)*5 GL*3 + 59 = (GL-7)*5 3GL +59 = 5GL - 35 5GL -3GL = 59 +35 2GL = 94 GL = 47 YL = 47 - 7 = 40
- Q: My carpet in my living room has become stiff. I regularly shampoo it and it is rinsed thoroughly. Any suggestions as to how to make it soft again?
- Your carpet is loaded with dried soap. As you may know, these toy home style carpet cleaners were invented by a practical joker and carnival magnate named P.T. Barnum, who once said, there is a new sucker born every second.
- Q: What if the carpet is dirty?
- If it's wool, you must take it to the dry cleaners. If the chemical fiber, and their cleaning brush in the household can also be
- Q: I spilled Sunny D on my white shag carpet any ideas of how to get it out?
- If it were me, I'd take the opportunity to get rid of the shag carpet and replace it with something more practical. Otherwise ... blot the area dry as quickly and thoroughly as possible, insuring you also absorb the fluid from the padding. Once the bulk of the liquid has been removed, I'd spritz the area with water and allow it to sit for about five minutes, then repeat the blotting. Repeat until no color remains. Consider an inexpensive shampoo suitable for shag if needed.
- Q: This must sound like a really dumb question, but...I'm still a novice with horses, and one of my stable jobs is putting rugs on the horses to be turned out.And I have quite a lot of trouble getting the rugs on, especially as the horses are 17-18 hands, and the rugs are volumus! I end up with them spilling about in my arms, and by the time the thing is on the horses back, it's inside-out! I feel such an idiot when people are watching me!I wonder if anyone here could give me some tips, especially on how to have the rug before putting it on, and how to actually get it up on the horses back in the first place, without getting in a mess.
- it is a bit of a case of trying to flip it up onto horses back, just takes practise with the big boys!!!! to do it the bhs way fold the rug in half with the tail flap on top of the neck bit, flip it onto the horses neck, well up on the neck, fasten front buckles/clips. fold the back half of the rug back into place over the bum and fix surcingles/clasps at side then any fillet string/leg straps at the back. you can tug it back a little but dont pull it back completely snug against the horses chest as th rug will pull back during the day so its good to have a bit of give to start with. this is tghe correct way to do it (albeit ithout the pinickity little bits like clipping up the unused straps etc!!!) definately before putting it on have it folded in half across the way tho - working with a half size is much easier. hold it halfway down as you flip so the momentum carries the far side of the rug over the back then use the front bit to give a bit of a tug and push to get it squared up!!!! dont worry about the people watching - nobody looks cool putting a rug on a massive horse!!!!! just practise and finding your own routine will make this job go quickly (you'll be doing it all in 30 seconds or less before you know it).
- Q: the dog has picked out a portion of the rug that he likes to pee on. so i get mad, spank him on the butt and put him in the garage for the night. there are so many urine stains on the rub, that im going to have to buy a new rug. how do i train him not to pee on the new rub. his name is benji and even after all this, hes still part of the family. suki
- 12 yrs old. and you want to sapnk it? shame on YOU! There is something wrong like a UTI (urinary tract infection) or she just cant hold it that long. Think about getting old and having bladder control problems. EFFF the freaking rug. Your dog doesn't care about that, neither should you. Get your dog to the vet and see what is up. Bet there is something going on, and your dog has been trying to tell you, you just don't get it!!!!!!
- Q: I had a bad stain on my carpet that nothing would remove. So I tried peroxide on it, and it took it out. So I was wondering if peroxide, baking soda, and things of that nature can be used in carpet cleaning machines?
- It depends upon the stain, if your carpet has a light color you can use the hydrogen peroxide , but it is not advisable because it has a little amount of bleach. in using baking soda this will only absorb the awful smell. yet very effective.
- Q: I need to shampoo my carpets but I want the best results possible. I know that the rug doctor is a commercial rug shampooer but do you think it has the same results as a professional coming in to clean them or would I get the same reults doing it myself?
- If okorder / . It has the best, top qulity, brand name products at a great price. If you clean your carpets often I would recommend buying a cleaner. But if you don't a little mom and pop vacuum shop sometimes will rent out better machines.
- Q: The other day I just found out that I had a hand-made rug that was made in Iran and bought by my grandparents about 10-15 years ago, the rug is about 6x8 and they paid around $2000 dollars for it.My question is what is the proper way to clean a rug that is hand-made? It has not been cleaned in years only vacuumed... and also is there a market place for these rugs? if I do decide I want to sell it.
- Hi, If your rug is worth that much I would have it professionally cleaned by a reputable person that specializes in cleaning persian or oriental rugs. It usually cost from 1-2 dollars a square foot. These companies have special tools that they dust the carpet with. They use compressed air with special tools that get out deeply embedded dirt that can make the foundation of your carpet dry and brittle. Often these companies have washing pits that the rugs are cleaned in that mimic how they were once cleaned in flowing rivers. They can dry your rug with air flow which is important to not leave a rug wet. They can inspect your rug for damage. Chemicals or steam cleaning should not be use as the natural oils of the wool are removed. Yes there is a market for these rugs so you should have it appraised by an experienced persian rug evaluator. Then you will have a market value if you decide to sell it but also for insurance purposes. Hope this helps.
