- Q: What do you know about Armenian rug history?
- Sera, my understanding is that you already know about this, just want to inform people , which is very nice... but I asked my teacher and he gave me the following Sources: Weavers, Merchants, and Kings. The Inscribed Rugs of Armenia, by Dr. Lucy Der Manuelian and Dr. Murray L. Eiland, Kimbell Art Museum, Fort Worth, 1984. Rugs of Armenian, Their History and Art, by H. M. Raphaelian, Anatol Sivas Publishers, New Rochelle, New York, 1960. Oriental Rugs and The Stories They Tell by Arthur T. Gregorian, 1967, Nimrod Press, Boston. Oriental Rugs, by Murray L. Eiland, Expanded Edition, New York Graphic Society, Boston, 1976. The Color Treasury of Oriental Rugs, by Stefan Milhofer, 1971. Caucasian Rug Images found at earth.oconnell /RugNotes/Caucasia.htm
- Q: does anyone have this carpet cleaner? I saw some good reviews on this and it is in my price range. But in the reviews it didn't say much about cleaning up pee stains. I need need this carpet cleaner to specifically clean my dogs pee stains. If you don't know about this carpet cleaner any other suggestions on another carpet cleaner?
- Cleaning up pee isn't much different than soda pop or orange juice, etc. It's a matter of steaming to release, then a wetvac extracts the substance and steam. Repeated passes will increase the effect. If you have stains in the carpet, the pad underneath may be compromised, in which case no steamer will get all the ammonia out. Best thing to do in that case is to have the pad replaced. If that's not feasible, at least find the enzyme treatment which helps break down ammonia -- usually it's at the vac rental area of the store.
- Q: Carpet has rich patterns, gorgeous colors and diversified shapes, which can not only become the coordination agent of space, but also integrate space to improve texture. For example, the overall tone is monotonous. Paving a carpet with rich colors can not only make the space less empty, improve the sense of hierarchy, but also meet the personalized needs of residents.
- The foot feeling of the carpet is comfortable, such as wood floor, marble, ceramic tile and other ground materials. In the cold and humid environment, the foot feeling is not so comfortable. Paving the carpet can well alleviate such problems.
- Q: im putting new carpet in my camaro..what glue do should i use and how do i seal it?
- molded floor carpet should just lay down maybe some spray trim adhesive for the jute backing. but only a little. I prefer 3M brand at auto supply stores
- Q: trying to refinish a 98 buick park and avoid having to but new carpet in, also any tips for leather?
- spray carpet cleaner and a stiff brush and if it doesn't come clean enough for you dye the carpets. For leather go to autozone or pepboys and get a cleaner for leather and then put on a leather protector.
- Q: Does the rug doctor help get the pet smell out of the carpets. We have been watching a few dogs and cats within the past year, and it is taking a toll on our carpet.
- Yes a rug doctor will do the trick. The rental for 24 hours is 16.95 and shampoo runs about 15. Unlike a professional carpet cleaner that cost just over two hundred. I know this becuase I live on a military base and we have to have our carpet professional cleaned before we move out. I also know the rug doctor does a good job because I have had two puppys and rescued a couple dogs that were not potty trained.
- Q: im a new rider, and next week i will got my first pony. i wanna buy some rugs for him. Couly you introduce different rugs and good brands.im in UK.xx
- Is he coming with any rugs? See what he has before making any purchases. In terms of types, it depends on whether he is going to be field kept, stable kept, on a combined system and if he will be clipped in the winter. It also depends on the individual - some horses feel the cold more than others. It also depends on the storage space you have at the yard. My Connemara is on a combined system (in at night, out during the day) and has a hunter clip in the winter. These are the types of rugs he has: -Lightweight turnout -Middleweight turnout -Heavyweight turnout -Detachable neck cover for turnout rugs -Fly rug -Fleece coolers (we have a few of these as we like to keep one worn and the others clean for after bathing him when we are going competing) -Lightweight stable rug -Middleweight stable rug -Heavyweight stable rug -Duvet-type under rug -Summer sheet In the winter we layer rugs depending on the weather and the clip he has - he often starts with a blanket clip and once that starts to grow out, he has a hunter clip and requires more or different rugs. Rugs that are clean and not currently in use are left in the bags the cleaning lady put them in (we send rugs off to be cleaned a couple of times a year) and are stored in a wardrobe in a container provided by the yard we're on so they stay clean and dry. The rugs we currently use (fly rug, summer sheet, fleece, LW T/O) are hanging on racks in his stable - it may be summer, but the weather has no idea what to do so he is occasionally wearing a summer sheet or fleece at night. As for brands, it's trial and error. Our turnout rugs are Amigo and are about 12 years old and in excellent condition; our fly rug, under rug, summer sheet and one of the fleeces are Masta (again quite old - fly rug on its last legs though!); and his stable rugs all came with him. He did have two turnouts that came with him, but they got torn in the field - we tried patching them up, but they eventually died on us.
- Q: I used a carpet shampooer along with a solution of natures miracle and a small scoop of oxy clean to clean my carpets. My cat had peed a spot in one of my rooms, so i just went ahead and shampooed all the carpet areas. I know that the Nature's miracle says that the carpet has to be 100% dry for the odors to go away. Well it has been over a week and I have noticed that everywhere I shampooed now smells horribly like cat urine! It is overwhelming! The carpet shampooer is kind of old, it was given to me, and I am wondering if it had some odors in it. I took the shampooer outside and took it apart and sprayed it with vinegar but I am scared to use it again because i think that it distributed the urine odor all over my house :( I don't know what to do, the cat urine odor is just everywhere now! What do i do to get rid of it....do i just need to get a new shampooer?
- To freshen carpets, sometimes I use baking soda and a few drops of essential oils. I put about half a cup or so of baking soda in a container (jar or bowl that I use for that purpose only) then, add a few drops of your favorite scented oil. (You can get it at places where they sell scented candles). After adding the scented oil, shake or stir to distribute. Wait a few minutes, then sprinkle the mixture onto carpets. The mixture should be quite dry, not wet, so use only about 4 or 5 drops of the scented oil. Let it sit on carpets for about an hour. Then vacuum. Baking soda is a natural odor absorber. I hope this works for you. Good luck.
- Q: Ok so my friend threw up on my other friends carpet so she freaked and grabed toliet cleaner and put it on the carpet and then it hardend now its stiff on the carpet. We tryed everything I tryed a steam cleaner and lots of other cleaners and no luck can some one help do you maybe know a remedy please help
- Probably the fibers are now chemically burned. No remedy. If the closets are carpeted, cut a patch from the back corner and exchange with the damaged section. Use double sided carpet tape to hold down the patch. In the future have some enzyme carpet cleaner for vomit and use that after cleaning up the chunks. Actually club soda works wonders.......
- Q: I have stains in my carpet and I have used everything there is. So I want to know can I spray paint my carpet?
- Suggest you could have the carpet dyed, but sometimes that needs to be done by a professional such as a carpet cleaner .
