Q: Hey guys I have a '96 ducati m900 and it's got 2 front discs. Right now the line goes to a line splitter mounted to the frame, I dot like it. Also the lines are old black rubber. Where can I find some nice metal braided lines with a t-split in them? I think that's what it's called just where one line splits at a T to go from one line equally to two discs. Also it would be nice if they fit my bike, where there any other monsters that had this? Thanks guys
for your own safety check this out with your local dealer, dont mess with brakes unless u r sure u know how to do it.
Q: Motorcycles
The 03 levers will not work on an 09. The piovt pins are different diameter and if the 09 has a clutch safety switch, the 03 clutch lever doesn't have the actuating tab. The pins were changed in 04 on the new rubber-mount engine/chassis and I can't remember what year they started using the clutch safety switch. You will need to get levers made to fit an 09.
Q: I PUT A SET OF FRONT BRAKES ON MY MOTORCYCLE, IS IT NORMAL FOR THEM TO WHINE WHEN STOPPING?
sometimes i don't think it's bad did you get any of that stuff that makes them not do that? i forgot what it's called it's a little packet you put on the brakes before putting them on haa
Q: Thanks for looking. I have a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R 600 and my brake light isn't working. I turn on my bike and the brake light stays on.... Any ideas? Hand brake and foot brake don't do anything.
Either your rear brake light switch or the micro switch on the handlebars has gone bad or needs adjusting most likely.Check them with a multimeter set for continuity.Apply the probes to each side of the switch contacts. The meter should show infinity unless the brake lever or pedal is applied.
Q: I have a Honda 250 and I want to learn to ride it without my husbands help. I think the right side lever that looks like a handbrake is the clutch but where are the brakes then? Any other basics that would get me on track would also be helpful. This bike has a kick-start.
The right side IS the brake, the clutch is the LEFT. Wear lots of protective garb to learn by the CRASH COURSE method .HELMET boots and gloves plus jacket.
Q: Can we skip the answer that go you never stop learning or after __ years I am still learning. Yes I understand you are always improving, you are always learning and what not but you know what I am asking so can I get real answers here? (not trying to be an as*hole just trying to get answers).I generally pick up on things rather fast, I learned how to drive a stick in a couple hours and by the 2nd day my shifts were smooth. so I learn pretty fast.
I learned how to drive a stick in a couple hours and by the 2nd day my shifts were smooth. so I learn pretty fast. That long? That is not driving though is it? Operating the controls is not riding – a monkey could be trained to operate the controls.
Q: Electric Motorcycle restriction questions?
i think of you may desire to strike the notice scooter out of your wording on an identical time as you're thinking approximately this. in accordance to the Minnesota handbook it form of feels notably sparkling. After a speedy overview of Minnesota's regulation, it looks like something over 50cc is assessed as a motorbike and something 50cc and under is a motorized bicycle (Moped.) Scooters are the failings that have tiny autos and you stand on on an identical time as you trip. Please examine the link under. trip secure.
Q: Well I‘m 14 but wanted to start thinking what type of vehicle I wanted when I turn 16 and I‘m not a car guy--I don‘t dream about them, I don‘t think about them, I just don‘t much care. But I was thinking of trying to get a motorcycle to save gas (seriously, close to 100 mpg ?!?! that is insane!). But I‘ve always been fearful of motorcycles cause they just look more dangerous (I‘m sure flying off motorcycles in GTA doesn‘t help at all lol)
Riding a motorcycle isn't dangerous . crashing one is. So its largely on you the rider to prepare yourself skill wise to avoid accidents, and gear wise to protect your body if you do meet pavement. First thing you should do is look into taking the MSF beginners course in your area to build a really strong, educated foundation for how to operate a motorcycle. There are a lot of little things you don't want to try and figure out as you ride. They will teach you as well how to brake effectively and manuver at slow speeds. This is important because if you can handle a bike a slow speeds when the gyroscopic force holding up the bike is weakest, then you an handle it at higher speeds for sure. Also when you gear up, always wear full gear and the best you can afford. Trust me it, its much cheaper than a stay at the hospital. You can't avoid drivers that do stupid things but you can prepare yourself to deal with them.
Q: I know there two brakes. Front and Back. How do you break from 50mph on 5th gear. Please tell me step by step and how to brake and shift the gear when slowing down. which do you use most front or back and do you have to use both.
Breaking form 5th to first (street) – This will depend on the situation and the type of bike. Because you are new and I will assume you are not on a sport bike here is the basics. 1) Practice coming to stops in a parking lot. Practice it slow and fast with the intent of building muscle memory. That means you should be doing this without thinking about it. 2) At 50 you see the stop light ahead turn red. Pull in the clutch and down shift and let out the clutch. Use the engine to slow down. When the engine is no longer slowing you down fast enough down shift again. Repeat until you are in 1st gear and apply breaks. Your left foot should be out a second or two before you stop. Then just lean to the left and rest the weight on your foot. To stop faster do the same thing but faster. To emergency stop grab the clutch and brakes and forget down shifting. (practice this too) I don’t want to get into it but if you are on a sportbike the rear brake does not need to be used unless you are on a track squaring off corners and I don’t think you will be doing that soon. The rear also helps with low speed (parking lot turns) otherwise I NEVER use it. As for the front brake only techniques I know what you all have been taught in MSF and by all means please do that. I am speaking from a racing and track background on this and it only applies with performance bikes with performance breakes. On a sport bike your front brake is strong enough to raise the rear of the bike in the air; what is the rear brake doing other than causing a highside? Let the rear roll! When you brake into corner hard enough to lift the back off the ground you will know what Im saying.
