Q: Does lime wire add a lot of pop-ups and slow down your computer?
Yes it does. Those are called Malware, for malicious software. 1 in 9 downloaded files are malware, or have some type of virus in them, or are just a virus by themselves.
Q: I am installing an amp in my '04 Chevy crew cab truck and am running new wire for the speakers. I was able to get the fronts wired but when I broke into the back doors there is a feedthrough connector where I need to put the wires through. I am sure this connector contains the wires for my windows, door lights and the current speaker wires. My question is how do I get my new 18 gauge wires through to the speakers, am I missing something? Thanks in advance!!
a generic AC voltmeter is designed to study 50/60 Hz Ac from the mains, no longer audio voltage, so do no longer count number on that analyzing. an ordinary element to do is in basic terms swop over factors. you have tried the audio equipment with yet another radio and that they artwork, now try yet another radio on your automobile with your audio equipment, in the event that they do no longer artwork, it leaves in basic terms the speaker wires. in the event that they do artwork, this is the radio. Oops i'm forgetting there could be a separate amp, so which you will could desire to objective yet another amp too to get rid of the defective ingredient. Do the element it somewhat is least complicated first with any success you will no longer ought to do each and every thing.
Q: I just bought a remote starter/keyless entry/alarm system, i'm looking to install it myself... I'm just wondering what gauge wire that most cars use.I'm assuming power wires are lower gauge then others, Could I use 16 gauge for power lines or would i need something larger? Thanks in advanced.
Why do you need to wire the stereo to the battery? Only thing you should have to wire directly to the battery is an amp. If you are wiring the amp to the battery I would say use a 4 gauge. Now, this depends on the rms of watts going to the amp, but 4 gauge is always a safe bet and give you room for growth in the future if you want to upgrade.
Q: Like I hear people say If you have good Wires you will have good bass. What is good wiring. What is the best wires I can get. Help me I'm new at this. Post some links or Something. 5 stars for best. Thanks!
For okorder /... As for wires just for speakers 12 gage or 10the gage will work fine ..... if you have big system amp wiring is used 4 gage
Q: I am building an ice chest boombox and want to wire a toggle (on/off) switch to turn the amp on and off....the amp is wired directly to the battery....my question is that I am using 6 gauge wire....but can't find any female spade connectors that are 6 or even 4 gauge to hook to the terminals on the switch.....what is a simple way to do this....am I going to have to solder the wire straight to the terminals?
Why not wire the toggle switch into the remote + wire? The one that turns the amp on and off with the head unit. 7/5/2013**** Leave the power supply wire alone. The thick 4 gauge wire that runs from the battery directly to the amp, leave it alone, don't put a toggle switch inline on that wire. Instead there's a wire from your head unit (or ignition) that runs to your amp, it turns on the amp when the head unit turns on or your ignition key is in the on position. It's usually 16 or 14 gauge. That's the wire where the toggle switch belongs. Look at your amp, this wire I am speaking of is probably labeled remote+ or ign or something like that and it's usually located next to your power and ground connections on the amp.
Q: Electron flow in a conducting wire.?I have some confusion regarding the flow of electrons in a wire when voltage is applied across it. Intuitively, i see that when i apply voltage across the ends of the wire say by a battery. The voltage pushes the electrons in the wire. As, a result the electrons flow in straight direction rather than going zig-zag. Some of the electrons reach the positive terminal of the battery, now my query is what happens when the electrons reach the positive terminal.Do they loose all their energy? Also, how is there a constant flow of electrons in the wire because since electrons are flowing constantly from the negative to the positive, is there no instance all the free electrons in the wire have reached the positive terminal? Basically what i mean to say is do the free electrons ever gets extinct? I am sorry if my question sounds stupid but can anyone please explain me a little bit in a conceptual manner?
The pace of the electron is variable relying upon the the style of energy you are dealing with. In our case, electrons waft within the conductor, though it's sluggish, it is only like ping-pong balls(Analogous to electrons) inside of a say, plastic pipe slanted down ward. When you provide a bit little bit of strain( i.E. Electrical Voltage or emf in our case) one pushes the other and the other one to the subsequent one so on momentarily (Which is very rapid action). This is how you to find the light turned on immediately once you turn the swap On. I feel is the brief answer for the query. Thank you.
Q: I have a 200 amp main breaker just below my meter, which is mounted on a pole. The neutral wire coming in is run to ground. From this box, I've run 2 cables (1/0) ~80 ft to another box with a 150 amp main breaker. This box is grounded to an 8ft ground rod. I am wondering whether this setup (no neutral wire from meter pole to building) would potentially allow a ground fault without tripping the 200 amp main. For example, if somebody dug into the line with a backhoe? Oh yeah, the cable is in a 3ft deep trench that will be covered. I have an abridged version of the NEC, but I haven't found this particular topic covered. Thanks.
Amy, you're so sexy when you talk electrical! I LUUUUUV You ! :-)
Q: I have 4 gauge wiring ground and power cables, as well as a smaller guage wiring that is colored grey. I have the amp hooked up to the gound and power, how do I connect the sub to the amp?The subs is a 08 L7 in the kicker truck box wired to 2 ohms. The amp is the Alpine PDX 1.600.
take (i use 12 gauge wire on my sub installs) 16-14 gauge wire and hook up the positive on the amp to the red terminal on the sub and negative to the black one. I'm not really sure what you need exactly
Q: i have old wiring for a stove that iam putting in ,a new box but i have only 3 wires 2 of them are white and 1 black how should i connect on a 4 wire receptacle? on the receptacle 1 white 1 green, 4 a ground then it says x then y ???????
I would suggest that you go and pick up the correct box. You should 4 wiring box if you are using 220 volt system. white, red, black and green
Q: Whenever I'm making jewelry, I typically wind up using crimp beads (with toggle closures, in most cases). Whenever I cut off the beading wire at the end, after enclosing the crimp bead around it, there's always this itsy bitsy part of the wire that irritates me to no end when I wear the jewelry. It seems that I can only cut the wire so much before I wind up snipping at the crimp bead. How can I remedy the irritation fact of the left-over wire?Maybe put glue on the wire piece and let it dry? Idk. Grr.
Depending on the size of the hole in the beads, I usually run the wire down throw about 2 inches worth of beads; then crimp and clip. This also ensures that if the necklace if caught and pulled you have about 2 inches of slack before you are chasing beads on the floor. If you hole in the beads are small you can do two different things. 1) find a coordinating bead with larger holes that you can end the necklace with on both sides of the catch 2) Be sure your wire is running straight back down the original wire after going through the crimp, then crimp and clip. The end of the wire will be straighter and not tend to go out to the side and punch your neck. And unfortunately there is not a solution every time.
