- Q: How efficient are vacuum cleaners in preventing the dust and other dirt that they suck from escaping through the air outlet. I'm using a Khind branded wet and dry vaccum cleaner model VC 3661, priced about USD 60, manufactured in 2004. The type that is shaped like a bucket and has its air outlet facing upwards and a removable, washable cotton bag inside. I notice that it has only two layers (slices) of dark -colored Sponge like material when I remove the air outlet cover. Is that sufficient to prevent dust, dirt and most importantly bacteria from coming out form the cleaner itself. It could be releasing the bacteria and spreading it all over the place.
- Many vacuum cleaners do an excellent job of picking up dust and dirt. Those that use bags to dispose of the sweepings do a good job of retaining the dust and dirt in the bag. Whether it eliminates bacteria is not indicated on the bag.

- try a wet and dry vacuum cleaner. steam cleaners and dry cleaners are probably too expensive, and a wet'n'dry is only about twice the price of a good vacuum. but really, if u have a good vacuum to start with, you cant get much better. also there are such things as 'power heads' to attach to the vacuum tube. they have rotating brushes and the like inside and help get difficult dirts (pet hair is the worst ive found, and a powerhead makes it a lot easier to remove from carpet) this prompts the question, are you using it on carpet?(recommended) there are better products for other surfaces

- Robotic vacuums are great nowadays as technology becomes better and better. Yes they can go from room to room and clean on their own.
- Q: Why are vacuum cleaners so noisy?
- It takes a powerful motor to create the suction needed to make a vacuum cleaner effective. There are quiet models, but they don't work as well. The best way to use a quiet vac is to go with a central, and have the canister mounted in the basement or garage. All you hear is the motor in the power head if you are vacuuming carpet, or the air moving if you are vacuum hard surfaces. Hope this helps.
- Q: I have 6 cats and need a vacuum cleaner that the filter is not going to stop up every few minutes. I have gone through 3 bagless vacuum cleaners in the last few months but they have been vaccums from walmart like eureka and such. - I just bought my second Kenmore. They are great, and suck much better than cheap vacuums. If you have the funds, a Dyson would probably be the way to go, but a Kenmore does a thorough job for less. I have 2 cats, so I get where you're coming from. When my husband first used my Kenmore (after his Bissell died), he was raving to everyone who would listen about how great it was, lol. He says he's a Kenmore man from now on! No more Walmart vacs for us!
