- Q: If you have first hand experience with these units, please advise. The idea sounds great; turn it on, leave the house, come home and the whole house is vacuumed, and the unit is back in its port being recharged. Do they do a good job? Do they miss areas like around the chair legs at the dining room table? Do you reccommend a particular brand?Please share your experience.
- They are very slow, don't do a good job on carpets and you have to remove chairs and other obstacles in the room. We feel its easier to just do it yourself.

- Q: I have a two piece standard Kenmore vacuum (not an upright vacuum but one of those that the hose attaches to the body). Anyways, I was vacuuming and then all of a sudden the roller quit spinning. I thought maybe some string or some other obstruction was preventing the roller from spinning or perhaps the belt broke. But I took everything apart and found out the motor doesn't spin. I can't even spin it manually. If I remember right shouldn't the motor be able to spin freely? My motor is stuck and won't spin and I can't find any obstruction preventing it from spinning.Any thoughts?And secondly, can you clarify if the motor should spin freely when the vacuum is turned off because I could have sworn that in the past if anything got wrapped around the roller (like string) I could easily unwind it.

- Ask the Hotel's housekeeping staff if they have a vacuum you can borrow Buy another Suitcase and pay the Extra Bag Fee. Stuff as much as you can into the suitcase. if you have someone who can keep sitting on the items and pushing them down. Go to a local shipping store and have them ship any extra items back by something like UPS/FedEx. If you can do without things for a few days, sending it ground may be a cheaper alternative to buying the extra suitcase and paying the extra bag fee. Decide what you no longer want to have and find a local charity to donate the items to. Leave them in the Hotel for them to just take or throw away.

- Q: How can I tell how loud a vacuum is before I buy it (if there is no display model)?
- Most places do have a return policy so could return it if you were unhappy. Could also make a request to the owner to put one together. If it has mostly this type of item on sale I am sure they will be happy to do this to make the sale. I think you will find that most vacuums do make close to the same amount of sound. That is what I have found. I worry more about the power it has to pick stuff up.

- I love my Hoover Windtunnel. I paid about 125 for it at Wal-mart. It has the rotating hand brush also. Mine is a 12amp also. I noticed that most are 12 amps. Hope this helps. If not you can go to Sears and they will dump stuff on the TEST CARPET and let you try them all out and then see where you can get the best deal.

- is it a vac designed to pick up liquids? if not, electric shock is a greater worry than the darn filter! or are you saying she washes the filters, and they're designed for that type of maintenance, then it would be o.k. as long as they're completely dry before they go back into the vac Filters that get wet are the perfect habitat for mold growth, so every time you vaccuum you'd be blowing mold spores all over the place--it's gonna stink, at the least! Look up the vac model and get the owner's manual form the manufacturer's web site to see what you should be doing with these filters.
