Q: Lifting a car with your arms or lifting it with a car jack? and please explain why
Power is the measure of how fast you are doing work. If you lift the car with your arms at the same speed as the jack does you are generating the same amount of power. Assuming you CAN lift the car with your arms it takes 3 seconds to lift it the specified height using the jack it takes 30 seconds to lift the same amount you have generated 10 times the power with your arms that you have with the jack. Using the jack allows you to lift the car with a smaller force but more slowly so it is LESS powerful The same amount of work is done in both cases but because the jack is slower it is less powerful in the true meaning of the word. People consistently talk about power when they mean force.
Q: Whats that thing called that u see on the bottom of the front bumper of race and drift cars. Its some kind of bumper cover support mechanism, it‘s held up by one or more small hinged poles on each side of the bumper.
It is called a splitter. It keeps air that would otherwise go under the car from doing so. This creates a zone of high air pressure above the splitter and a low pressure zone below it. This creates downforce, keeping the front of the car from lifting off the ground and losing traction. It has to be balanced by a wing or spoiler at the back, or the downforce in front of the front axle would actually lever the back of the car upwards. Similarly, having a rear wing without a splitter can lift up the front of the car.
Q: I am around 3-4k upside down on my vehicle. I have 4 years left on the loan. Should I sell and pay off the negative equity or should I keep the vehicle for the remainder of the loan and put that 3-4k towards the principal and cut 1.5 years off the loan payment?
Keep in mind. It's a really bad time to sell a car - with the crappy economy no ones buying (except for hybrids.) And dealerships are giving close to nothing on trade ins. Also depends on what kind of car you have, Toyota's and Honda's will keep their value. most others, will greatly depreicate esp. the SUV's and other gas guzzlers. I know it sucks, but I would wait a few more years to sell. or if you can (as suggested), put the 3-4k towards the principal and cut 1.5 years off the loan payment. You'll end up saving money (interest is the killer) and you will payment free sooner :)
Q: i know i shouldn‘t be picky about my first car but what do you guys think about it.
Yea it's a good car. Holds up in a crash and for it's age and toughness insurance is low. I say buy since I got one too. I can't leagally drive but I've got a big farm to drive on so trust me it's a good buy.
Q: A 15,000-N car on a hydraulic lift rests on cylinder with a piston of radius 0.20 m. If an oil compressor drives a connecting cylinder with a piston radius of 0.040 m, what minimum force must be applied to the smaller piston to lift the car?a) 600 Nb) 1,500 Nc) 3,000 Nd) 15,000 Ne) 30,000 NPlease write me ur complete solution and not just the final answer. Also please answer me seriously.
I see you're under pressure to finish the problem. In all seriousness though, you need to use pressure. Pressure Force/Area. In a hydraulic system, pressure is roughly the same throughout (assuming no significant height changes). So we can assume that the pressure at the small cylinder is the same as the pressure at the large cylinder. From that assumption the following equation can be formed: 15000/(pi*.2^2)F/(pi*.040^2) F 600N
Q: Might be a silly question but still thought would ask By upward lift I mean, the car just glides on the road at about 1-2 inches when travelling at speeds of over 80-90 miles per hour How much will be the impact on stbility of the car? Is it impossible to design such cars ?
Yes it will carry over. The state of Virginia can look this information up in the computer system with his SSN. Some states issue driver's licenses based on your SSN. California assigns you a seperate license number starting with a letter of the alphabet. He also has to notify his ex-wife or ex-girlfriend of his intentions to move out of state. If he moves without notifying her by certified mail, she can should file an injuction to have him arrested for skipping the state to avoid payments on court-ordered child support. My son's father moved 2 years ago without notifying me. I found out after SSI contacted him about not protecting his son on the SSI claim. I was pressing fraud charges they were dropped, pending he'd add our son to the claim. He's now serving 4 years in a Washington state prison, but probably will only serve 1-2, with time off for good behavior for failure to properly notify the custodial parent of his intention subsequent move out of state. I wouldn't have objected to the move at all, had he told me. Since he didn't, I pushed for the jail time on the moving. He figured since we hadn't gotten married, he didn't have to bother (we were engaged to be married when I got pregnant had my son). Be careful who you're friends with, my dear. Men that have their license suspended for non child support payments are bad news. It's usually a way to get back at the ex for one reason or another that trickles down to the child(ren). If you think he wouldn't do that to you, think again. Start rethinking your friendship with this man make some drastic changes to get him out of your life.
Q: engineering trivia q/a.air foil technology brings forth the star trek hydro turbo lift systems.is this a form of hydrolisis or numeric numatic.or a fancy engineering term .for its transport make up.taking into account 0 gravity‘s positive/negitive effects.hydro,or num;? signed;degoi of our empire earths;new futuristic systems; of which you are a necesity;engineering specialist beyond 2007.
What? None of the above, lookup maglev maybe not _exactly_ the same, but gives one some idea. Hydraulics are a problem for long distances and high speeds, and pneumatics make precise positioning relatively difficult.
Q: this is for auto-tech..... PLEASE HELP!
The car must always be properly balanced on the lift before the car is raised upward. If it is not properly balanced it could fall over, requiring the car to be replaced or repaired at best, resulting in injury or death at the worst. If the lift is a drive on car lift, always put a wedge behind the tire before you raise the lift. If you fail to do this, the car could roll off of the lift. Make sure that there is enough clearance before you raise the vehicle. You do not want the vehicle to hit the ceiling. This is especially important to consider when working with RVs or taller trucks. Do not lift the car all the way up when you first start. Start by lifting it up to knee height, then gently check it to make sure that the car is properly balanced. If, despite this, a vehicle begins to fall, GET OUT OF THE WAY. You aren't going to be able to stop it.
