Q: I have always liked the older American Muscle cars but never have known anything about them. When I am older I would like to own one. Witch had the power that will basicly lift the front end up, or have that amazing tourqe and high hp? I am just curious witch are the more popular cars that people want with the power in them? Thank you all.
hemi dart. but that will cost a couple million dollars :P i think the l88 corvettes would be close to doing a wheel stand. with about 600 hp and very good weight balance. but the fastest actual muscle car, the vette was a sports car, is the 69 road runner, none will lift the front wheels unless they were gutted and made for drag racing. which would make them useless on the road the quickest 1/4 miles times were by the shelby cobra, and the 66 corvette, the 3rd was the road runner i guarantee a stock 440 is not putting out 700 hp tot eh wheels, that would mean nearly 1000 hp at the crank. they were rated at 390 and put out 490 the craziest was the olds 455, which was adverstised at 390, actually put out over 500.
Q: Ok so i went to Canadian Tire for some new tires.which somehow gives them the right to listen to my engine(which I locked down) and tell me that my rear rocker panels are rotted away and its not safe to lift the car off the ground. Now I know that I shouldn‘t listen to anything that Canadian Tires says but it piqued my interest. I googled it and nothing. I looked at the repair manual and lo-and-behold rear rocker panel aren‘t even listed anywhere. Is this a typical money grab? Or could they have just gotten the part name wrong? Maybe I should just ask if theres any truth to what they‘re feeding me.
All cars have rocker panels. It is the panel that goes from the back of the front fender to the rear tire, and is below the door. Yes, they do rust out, especially after 15 years. Just look under the car to see if it is rusty. They should be able to lift the car by another way, not the rockers. Why are you worried about them listening to your engine. There is no right to it. They can hear it when they drive it in to change the tires. You locked it down?? What are you talking about??
Q: I not an expert on arrow dynamics, but I really want to know if you put a wing on your car, will say mounted centered on your cars balance point. Lets say this wing wasn‘t like those ricers trying to produce down force so there civic doesn‘t fly off the highway, but a wing that produced lift, this could improve the gas mileage of your car. I‘m thinking it could even be mechanical in some way providing various amounts of lift, but on the highway you could make a 3000lb car drive like it was 2000lbs. That‘s a big *** difference, i just don‘t know how crazy drag would be on the wing itself, but I was just reading about something called the tube plane, a large percentage of its lift was created with the main body of the plane, technology is a far larger market than oil, driving around in vehicles shaped like bricks isn‘t helping MPG‘s. Any comments
A lighter vehicle would be more fuel efficient if the driver used the loss of mass to their advantage. If the loss of weight was used to gain more speed, the gain in efficiency would be lost. But if the driver were to drive in the same manner as usual, the lost weight would have a large advantage. The drag coefficient on the wing worries me a little, and also the wing may add some awkwardness to driving in general, but if done correctly could be a good thing. I am not an Engineer, but can see the advantages and disadvantages to both sides of the equation.
Q: I came across this -- something about an SUV from Guizhou:贵州越野车顶债主高速狂飙30公里时速140码My question is, what does 顶 and 140码 mean here? Thank you, if you can help me.
I had read this news in Chinese some days ago. 顶 means lift, jack up 140码 means 140 yards( the speed) A car lifts or jack up a people(the creditor) and run 30 kilometers with 140 yards. It's so difficult for me to translate this. I am a Chinese, and also a English beginner.
Q: I have a 2000 black acura TL. I‘m having trouble getting my car to start and there is absolutely no problem with my battery I just need a new starter will it need to be lifted or can I get a mechanic to come replace the starter???
if he needs to get under the car he can bring a floor jack and stands not a big deal really most starters are under the car on bottom of the engine
Q: I want to lift the car about 1.5 all around without losing ride comfort.
Probably, but you wont get any more than that, what kind of car?
Q: Lift up to their own whereabouts
Hydraulic cylinder back to the hydraulic tank check valve sealing problem
