- Q: My car is being vandalized.I find marks that look like finger marks. I want to make sure that the prints can be lifted before I make a police report.
- The best thing to do is contact your local police dept first. Have them lift the prints. Hopefully they have a responsive crime scene unit. If you did it yourself you will run into problems later. For example: if they have suspects in custody and it goes to court a defense attorney will ask Mr. ___, do you have experience, training with lifting latent prints from a vehicle?. If not then you have some explaining to do. I say leave it to the professionals. Besides, they may have the suspects in custody already from another crime the following day, but if you lift the prints from your car and hold on to it how are investigators gonna run those prints against the data base system so the perpetrators can be identified? Another problem is having the proper tools to lift the prints. Plain old Scotch Tape is not going to do it! It may look like that on TV but it is no where near that. It is specialized tape. It looks like Scotch tape on TV because that what it SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE ON TV. The real thing also looks similiar but it is not the same. The latent print is then transferred onto a glossy 3x5 card and submitted as evidence. Then it is ran thru the Computer system. I encourage you to watch what a real professional uses to lift a latent print when you call the crime scene unit. Some agencies will come to your home to conduct a fingerprint investigation. Also, you might be able to report the crime online or over the phone.
- Q: I‘m about the get a distrobution job and want to buy a 2012-13 sti (not sure yet). I heard people that have sti‘s look down apon doing this to the car. Why is this? What sort of stuff CAN‘T you do because of adding an air lift to the car.the streets suck where I live so I don‘t want to have a low car to get ruined on the streets here. Plus if or when I do get an sti I can lower it when i hang out with friends and stuff I guess.please don‘t comment saying stuff like you ****** you shouldn‘t buy a car if you don‘t know **** about it or anything along the lines of that. - Probably because an sti is a car thats supposed to handle well and usually bags don't do much for handling. I think some of the newer systems improve on stock suspension, but I'm not too sure. Do what you want if you get the car. It really doesn't matter cause it sounds like you are not too interested in tracking it anyways.
- Q: Car lift for my garage?
- I agree with the other response. It looks like it would be unstable in the base. My buddy is looking into a lift for his garage but he has limitations on height. He found a company that has a lift similar to a pallet jack, that you slide under the car and just lift it. It is ismilar in price but seems WAY more stable.
- Q: Bumper canards convert some drag into reverse lift and when put on front bumpers they can help to hold the front end of a car down at high speed. They are used in Formula 1 racing and now I am seeing them even on NASCAR cars.Do they work on street cars? How do you know? How can you measure the lift they are reducing? - I know what they are. Street cars don't get fast enough for it to make a difference.certainly not on FWD cars. Basically this drag could be created by using a better designed bumper instead of bolting on stupid looking slivers of carbon fiber. OEM? No one uses them.

- if you are doing a wheel stand, you are not worried about shifting. if you want to burn tires up, look into a line lock kit. this would allow you to leave the front brakes engaged and the back tires free to spin.

- Fora 4 lift in a 2 wd truck is going to cost well over $1000 its not like a 4wd were all you need is lift blocks and a drop down pitman arm in 2wd trucks you need the blocks for the rear as well as a whole slue of front suspension components like new front spindles a arms the whole nine not to mention the ride quality will be really messed up! ive seen 2 lift kits for 2wd trucks run around the $1200-$1600 range so i can only imagine what a 4 kit would cost!
- Q: We have speakers in the trunk, and 20 inch rims, and the previous owners of the car, lowered the car when they put the rims on it, and now it‘s eating the hell out of our tires. We have a nissan altima, anyone know what type of springs or whatever we need to use to put on the car so that the alignment can be straight for the rear tires?
- Ooohhh tough one. Probably, you'll have to find out what was done to lower the car and undo it. There are TONS of car guys out there that would be more capable of giving specifics on an Altima.
