- I would say that jack that the power cord plugs into has come loose from the motherboard. It may at times have enough of a connection to work at some times. - Ive never come across this before. Maybe its because i don't no anyone who has a dog which has peed up there PS3. I would suggest you dont get a other cable because that one might break aswell due to water getting in your ps3. If i was you i would contact Playstation or the store you got it from for more advice. - Split the power cable... Skin the insulation back on the individual wires..Keep track of the colors.... Split one side far enough back to put pieces of shrink tubing on the individual wires...put the approcate wires in an insulated butt splicer....crimp the splicers...Heat shrink the tubing...Then tape the individual leads with 3M-130c rubber tape ..Then put about 2-3 layers of 3M 88 tape on top of the rubber tape....It will last as long as you will Have A Good Day
