Q: I bought this cool wool runner rug at a consignment shop. It is possibly a blended wool with some brown cotton type thread woven in it that extends thoughout and the remains of the thread is the knotted fringes at the end.: The design is typical of the southwestern motif. It's not old at all and it's made in Mexico. They make these kinds of narrow rugs with that kind of border. It's not made in India and it's not a dhurrie. These Mexican rugs are hand loomed and usually a cottage industry rug. Usually women make them at home. It's less than 30 years old.

Q: Why is there so much chromatism when producing multi color carpet: So different batches, because dyeing is ralated with the temperature and humidity of the air, the higher the humidity, the darker the color, the lower the temperature, the brighter the color

Thanks!: First notice if your cat is showing other signs of other problems, like hiding away much of the time, drinks more water than usual, eating less----things like that, as it could be a urinary infection causing him to pee on the rug. I have 3 cats of my own and have had 3 before these and at least 2 of them showed the symptoms I mentioned and they needed to be treated by a Vet right away. Turned out to be a Urinary Tract infec. It's easily treated and an antibiotic will be given. Please tell your Mom not to give up on Kitty yet! A Vet can tell by an exam and feeling your cat's tummy area for any swelling and get a urine sample as well to get a diagnosis. Collect as many as you can from friends and neighbours and search the second-hand shops for them as well.

Your living room would probably be better suited to a 5X8 (60 X 96) or similar. When choosing a rug, ask the salesperson about wash-ability as some fibres are more prone to staining even when spills are promptly cleaned with rug cleaner. Solid colours also tend to show dirt quicker, so look for a rug with flecks of red in two slightly different shades or even a bit of a texture so that certain unavoidable dirt (lint, pet hair, etc) might be concealed a bit. Q: How to clean the glue on the carpet?: If it is chewing gum or flexible glue like double faced adhesive tape or Black & Decker glue ( full- purpose adhesive), and banana oil. use the volatile oil, but the carpet will be damaged, chloroform and hot water containing soda are the best. transformer oil and rosin water can also be used; if it is glass glue, acetic acid could be used(vinegar essence, nail color remover); if it is 502, it is afraid of heat and alkalis; if it is epoxy resin (combining of two kinds of glues), white vinegar), Fengyoujing could be used if you are afraid of pollute the air.

Q: I have just this cheap low shag carpet in my boys room I want to put down some wood planks. I don't understand why I would have to remove the carpet, it's so low it's not plush. Not quite as bad as commercial office carpet but pretty close to it. Can't I simply install the fllor over it, what's going to happen if I do?: Only can you install laminate over carpet if it is a very short napped, glue direct to the floor commercial carpet.
