Q: We have a large carpet that we want to cut and lay over our cream one (to save it as we have a two year old) The carpet WILL fray and become untidy and we have heard that it will cost 80p per 12 inches to get it 'overlocked' or is it called 'binding' (the edges sewn up so it doesnt fray) and we just cant afford it as the measurements are 16 feet x 9 feet = ?40 (odd)... Ive done a little research and have come across 'double sided carpet tape' (?) also I see something else 'GLUE'.. that can be used. Does anyone out there know how we would do it... the tape AND glue (?) Can someone give me step by step instructions or directions on how to stop this carpet from coming undone and fraying. Thank you very much indeed. x: Paint the back side of the carpet with a latex glue. This product is used to make repairs to the edges of expensive wool rugs.

Q: What is the name of the mat laid under the office carpet?: There is generally a layer of sponge pad or rubber pad or pearl cotton pad beneath carpet. Diamond carpet does not need a mat uunder it, directly sticked on the ground by glue.

Q: I have a couple of very expensive rugs that I need cleaned. Just dont want to trust them to anybody that may not know to do them right. Anybody know of a professional that does this: Go okorder ., to locate a certified carpet/upholstery cleaner in your part of the country. If they do not clean wool area rugs they may recommend someone who does. I hope they are not full of pet/dog urine. Some dogs will mark their territory on a wool rug as they sense another animal in the area. Being stupid, they mistake the wool scent for another dog instead of sheep.You can locate specialty wool cleaners in most large metropolitan cities.

We're going to have most of our carpeting changed to laminate because I have HORRIBLE dust allergies, but we want to keep the carpeting in the living room and dining room. Choose a carpet pad that has moisture resistance, giving it anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties. If you are gluing the carpet to the floor, choose adhesives with low VOC emissions.

Thanks.: You can clean a carpet, but if it has been wet and has a pad under the carpet, you will have to cut the carpet loose at the wall and remove the pad from under the carpet. You can not clean that and the mold smell is in the pad. Either replace the pad or just leave it out. I never put pad under carpet. Now clean the carpet and add some mildew killer to the cleaning agent. They sell this at Lowes and Home Depot. Reattach the carpet at the wall with a carpet tacker prior to cleaning as it might shrink otherwise.
