- Q: My 4 year old cat only pees in his litter box once after the litter is changed. Then he pees on everything! From rugs, to carpet, to clothes left on the floor. We've washed every rug he's peed on, just in case it's a territorial thing, but he just won't stop.
- i agree with amy k it sounds like he isn';t liking the litter, my female 18 month old was doing the same thing only it was on beds. I asked around and found out some interesting things. When you wash the rugs afterwards spray an oder nutraliser like feliway or piss off this nutralises any oders that the cat can smell. Like dogs cats have a way more sensitive nose to us so he can probably still smell his urine on there. This stuff works well and can be bought from a good pet shop. Also i switched my litter to the crystals. My cats had to get used to it because they were used to the clumping litter but the crystals draw away the oder and draw the wee to the bottom so it lasts longer. Try this n see if it helps :) Good luck
- Q: 4 years ago I shortly dated someone in the military who purchased a persian rug for me in afghanistan. I felt guilty keeping it, but he insisted I kept it anyways, and am now wanting to sell it, however I know nothing about it. Are there any websites that can teach me anything about the rug, like to verify it really is a persian rug or values?
- You can read full story at WikiPedia about Persian rugs and its type.
- Q: I am currently trying to find a new rug for our bedroom. I am just not sure what color would work.
- the gray rug looks great which you have shared. it will look good in the bedroom
- Q: Commonly used ceramic tiles, What is the general thickness of the carpet?
- Tiles have 60*60*9, 80*80*11, 100*100*13, 60*120*12 (unit is cm)
- Q: We have this rug that's been washed over and over again and it still has SO much dust in it! I can't find where to find a rug beater and I really don't know how to get the dust out...can you help me??
- Washing rugs can trap the dust into the fibers. What you need to do is find a way to release the dust. There are several types of rug chemical cleaners that can do that, which you can find at Home Depot. You should also hang your rug outside and whack it several times with a stick to remove any dust trapped in the pad, but make sure to stand so you don't end up covered with dust. Then get a vacuum with a strong suction capability and run it over it several times.
- Q: Great landlord. Don't want to damage beautiful floors. Need to have rug lay flat. In living room. Carpet is thin. needs padding
- A true pad won t really work since it ll bunch up,make it to thick and cause a tripping hazard.. What you should use is a special mat made just for rugs over hardwood. This type allows the rug to stay it place w/o slipping and bunch up, allows the wood to properly breathe and not stain the wood . These are bought any where wood and flooring are sold, just get the kind made for rugs over wood. Since you know your rug size you can get the closest size to your rug. You can even cut these and trim them to fit so the whole rug is covered from below. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
- Q: we bought several new throw-rugs to protect carpets at door-ways. They were folded in half on a pile in the store. It has been impossible to remove that crease, which as the traffic goes on it bunches up in the middle even worse. Any ideas on how to get out these creases where the fold was? Have washed, weighted down, turned over, hung up.....can't seem to prevail! Need advise on how to get rid of these creases. Will never buy a folded rug again.
- This is really not an answer or solution ; my notion is that you will have to live with it. Applying steam on the back side to the backing and then weight it down would an other possible solution; I wouldn't put $ on it though. Could you use the rug somewhere that the crease would be under a table or chair?
- Q: Cleaning methods of several common carpet stains
- 1, coffee stains can be washed with soda water, and then dry with white cloth.2, wax stains on wax stains can first put a piece of white and clean cloth, spray water on the cloth, and then use the electric iron hot wax, wax position, wax will be dissolved in cloth.3, the original pen oil can be washed with alcohol, and then dry white and clean cloth.4, lipstick can be washed with alcohol, and then white and clean cloth dry.5, chewing gum stains can use dry ice cooling to harden the chewing gum, and lose the viscous force, it is very easy to make chewing gum was extracted, the remaining small stains, usable alcohol cleaning, reoccupy white and clean and dry cloth.6, red wine stains must be immediately soaked cloth with wine stains, followed by the point to the point of pouring salt, about two hours later, with a vacuum cleaner thoroughly clean, you can remove stains.7, smoke stains if the carpet hair was burned, with charred blade will cut part of the raw materials, other materials filled in the hole.
- Q: We are looking for the best on the market, not the cheapest.
- You shouldn t use a true pad or sorts. The best I ve seen for area rugs in a line called Rug Hold. Its a non skid underlay ment for rugs. Come in a wide variety of sizes and types . The type you need is for rug over hard surface. Now there are some felts that can be added to the backing of a rug but w/o seeing yours its hard to say if you can add it or not. Any padding for carpet will not work properly and actually be a tripping hazard, even a thin 1/4 rubber pad. Any question you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
- Q: I have rented the rug doctor before and have been satisfied w/ the results. I am in an apartment and not willing to pay for more. It works great for the $20 rental. However, the get you on the shampoo, anit-foam, ect. Does anyone have a cheaper alternative? By the time I get all this, its not so cheap anymore. Is there even possibly something organic I can make or get cheap? I am having a baby in 3 months and do not want the linger of chemicals in the carpet.
