Q: Erm... I spilled beer on my carpet.Do I need to use a carpet shampooer or can I just scrub it out? Does it stain?
as a IIcrc Cert. Carpet cleaning Tech, I can tell you that if you didnt get all the beer out of the carpet, and what i mean is if the padding is still wet it will form what is called a water stain witch most of the time will come out if you clean the carpet again but dont use soap in the carpet cleaning machine put it in a spray bottle and spray it on the carpet first let it sit for about 10 mins, then put rubbing alochol in the water water about 1/2 cup then the rest hot water. then dry good
Q: We're moving into an 850-sqft place with all hardwood floors. We are thinking about putting in either rugs or carpet for the WHOLE PLACE (except bathroom and kitchen) because we have a 1 year old who could really use the extra cushion. Which is more cost-efficient? Where can I get quality rugs/carpet at a bargain?
Truthfully, when it comes to crawling around on hardwood, your little one is much tougher than you might suppose. If she were mine, I would be much more concerned about her vulnerability to the host of chemicals, gases, pathogens, allergens and critters that lurk in both rugs and carpets. The rough texture of rugs and carpets can also cause nasty rashes on her sensitive skin. Hardwood is also much easier to keep clean. Trust me. Your babe really doesn't need the extra cushion of a rug. Toss a blanket and a cushion on the floor for when she wants to lay back but let her crawl all over on that nice smooth, clean hardwood. She'll thrive. I raised 2 healthy boys on hard porcelain tile -- but at least I knew it was clean. About my neighbour's carpeted floor, I wasn't so sure. The only bruises my boys seemed to sustain was from their own adventuresome mishaps.
Q: Searches bring up books ABOUT rugs! I need a rug with the pattern of books, on an area rug, contemporary, or traditional, just has to have books on it for a themed room. Thanks!
whilst you're going for affordable your purely real selection is to look at polypropylene rugs that are indoor/backyard. they are barefoot delicate yet unlike a pile rug plus they are easily hosed all the way down to bathe. the two Grandinroad and Frontgate supply those rugs on line. even with the undeniable fact that I even have seen a number of those presented at homestead Depot or Lowes, they don't have the softness. i exploit those rugs the two indoors in intense site visitors aspects and exterior on the deck besides. you are able to decide from classic to cutting-edge varieties. yet you will no longer get them organized without transport expenses. it incredibly is the internet in spite of everything.
Q: should horses (in summer) always or most of the time wear a kool coat/sheet?if so why is this essential?
My mare runs around naked just about all year long. Sheets in the summer are not essential. They are helpful, especially if you are in a high insect area. Some people put sheets on their light colored horses, especially a day or two before shows, to keep them cleaner. Some people say that they do help the horse stay cooler, but I have not experienced this. Sunburn is not generally a problem with the body of the horse, but many horses with pink skin may have problems, especially around the eyes and nose. Sunblock will help with this.
Q: I have a smallish (3ft by 5ft) area rug that needs to be cleaned. It's not worth enough to pay a cleaner and I have hardwood floors so I'm not trying to rent a steam cleaner. I was thinking about using a clothes line between two trees and hosing it down real well with a pressurized garden hose... I have tried vacuuming and quot;beatingquot; the rug with a stick, but there is a dingy coloration that I think needs water/washing to get it looking nice. I wasn't going to use any detergents, just water and a scrub brush then let it air dry for a day or so. Does this seem like at least a semi-good idea? I'll sooner throw the rug out and spend money on a new one than spend money cleaning this one. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
The clothesline and garden hose method is what I do with small area rugs. If you have any way of soaking it with a carpet cleaning solution first, that helps a lot. There are garden sprayers which can do that quite well. Don't use a detergent, or any cleaner that makes suds. It's too hard to get all of it out and any remants will tend to attract dirt when they are dry. Even windex would be better than nothing. Try to do it on a day when it'll be warm and dry for long enough to get the rug at least mostly dry before you bring it indoors.
Q: Hello! I am trying to change a carpet in my mazda protege 1996, and I am having a problem to find carpet material. I do know i can get it online a carpet that is specially made for my car but they cost like 100- 150 buck. Does anyone know if i can get carpet material in home depot if so what kind should i get. Thank you in advance:))
house carpet will work. just take your old carpet out but watch you don,t tear it, lay it over the house carpet and cut around it. try checking with the carpet stores. sometimes they have remnants you can get pretty cheap.
Q: it has a big yellow spot on the carpet now..
There's really nothing you can do. If you have any carpet left over, or can buy a small amount from a dealer.. You can cut around the stain and replace the carpet. You'll have to get special carpet tape (It's a sticky rubbery substance on both sides with strings in it.) and a carpet iron (Basically how it sounds. You plug it into the wall, it gets hotter then a clothing iron would and it melts the two pieces of carpet together.) to do it. But if you do it right, no one will notice a seam in the carpet. There's no way to dye it because the dyed carpet will never look like the original carpet.
Q: Can you put an area rug on burber carpet?
Absolutely, one of the most cost effective ways to enhance your space on a small budget. Do's: Your accent rug must be totally different in color, but must have adequate tones that match your burber to a T. Area rug colors should match 2 of the following 3: - walls - furniture - drapes Our Den = light beige burber, and a Home Depot 5 x 7 rug that sits under the coffee table infront of the Sofa. Its a moss green outline, with light beige, rust, and black in it. It looks phenominal. Hint: Take your Credit card, and buy 6-10 rugs from Home depot / walmart, or wherever, and return the ones you don't like. The more rugs you bring home at once, the higher the odds are you'll find one that transforms your entire room.
Q: We are replacing the carpet in two spare rooms with laminate flooring. What is the best way to get rid of the carpet?
Most carpet is held by nail strips that are routed around the whole room. All you need to do to start the removal is go to a corner with a pliers or vice grip and grab ahold of the carpet and pull upward. Once the corner releases you won't need any tool, you can just pull it up all the way around the room. As for getting rid of it, I just put my old carpet in the trash can and the trash collector took it. (It took about 4 weeks to get all of the carpet, pad, and particle board into the trash.) I put in solid 3/4 wood floor and needed to change the subfloor to plywood. Make sure the subfloor you have is rated for the type of flooring you are installing. Each case of flooring should have instructions inside.
Q: How to remove the coffee stains and coke stains on the carpet?
Use tea, borax with warm water to wipe, and then sprinkle several borax, slightly dry, use clean water to rinse, can use 10% glycerol solution to rub clothes which are contaminated by coffee or other drinks. Using diluted ammonia also can be remove, can wash with 70-80% hot water immediately: 10)the nature of rubbing the carpet and clothes is almost the same. Silk and wool fabric can't be washed by ammonia, can refer to the following. Or paint glycerin on stains, can use glycerin and egg yolk mixture to wipe, use boiling water to soak, then rinse after using detergent. Old tea and coffee stains can also be washed by using salt or glycerin solution. Old tea stains can be cleaned by concentrated salt water, then rinse with clean water, or use a mixture of ammonia and glycerol (1. 3% hydrogen peroxide solution can be used to wipe old coffee stains
