- Q: I'm remodeling a house on a tight budget. All the carpet needs replaced and I was wondering if anyone has bought carpet from Ollie's Bargain Outlet? If you have, is it a good choice and will it last a long time? I was also looking at Lowes carpeting. A good friend of mine told me that Lowes carpeting isn't very good in the long run. Has anyone had any problems with it? (I'm installing the carpet on my own if that makes a difference)
- We have a carpet business in my family.. and if you get to see and feel the carpet a good way to tell the quality- the softer the underside of the carpet- the better. Personally I'd go with Ollie's over Lowes carpeting and no matter where you go, it really only lasts 7 years before either looking dingy or needing to be restreched, do you know how to install carpet? just asking because I can give you pointers if you dont. some people just kind of lay it in there instead of putting down the tack board and stretching it, or seaming it properly. and no matter where you get it from, make sure you get padding for underneath, if you're going to be living there, you'll regret it if you dont, makes a world of difference even on the cheapest carpets. that's all. thanks!
- Q: My carpet was just cleaned and is already dirty...it shows everything! I don't want to have to get down on my hands and knees to spot clean (the entire carpet constantly needs cleaning!) and I cant afford to pay a carpet cleaner every week. Is there like a carpet shampooing/cleaning machine you can buy for around 100 dollars or ANYTHING I can do? Thanks!
- I have white carpets (oatmeal) and sometimes 12 children running around counting all the neighborhood boys and the small children I watch + my 3 young boys. I washed them until they started to wrinkle only to find them getting dirty with in weeks. I then found Sears brand of Dry Carpet Cleaner which costs $26 dollars for a large box (in the appliance maintenance department) and it works awesome. It picks up spots that have been there forever and leaves the house smelling soooo fresh! It drys (you must lightly mist and brush in) in about 2 hours, and you will be amazed. Because there are no soap residues left behind, the carpet stays clean with regular vacuuming! I have my own carpet cleaning machine (high end model) which I am now getting rid of it! Try it, you will never go back to shampooing carpets again!
- Q: Does anyone have a rug cleaner recipe that contains ammonia, dish soap and water. And is depensed from a foaming container.
- Is this a rug you can take outside.? if so, use the dishwashing liquid( just a little) and scrub it then rinse well, hang to dry..Mine come out beautifully.
- Q: Need to find the best carpet and upholstery cleaning company in Lakeville? Need to find someone with experience, specializing in water damage and pet odor removal, someone who can perform truckmount steam cleaning and dry cleaning of delicate upholstery in Lakeville?
- I okorder They get the stains completely out. And the odors are non existant!
- Q: My mother wants to get an oriental rug appraised before perhaps selling it to be cut up. (It's very big but has some rips.) Is it worth getting it cleaned before the appraisal? Thanks!
- If you have ever seen them clean an oriental rug you would say nothing would be worth the cost. Here is what they do and you can do it yourself. Lay the rug on the driveway. Take a scrub brush on a pole and using rug cleaner scrub it. Then rinse it off with a garden hose and hang it over a railing to dry.
- Q: I have wall to wall carpets in my apartment. I have placed large rugs on top of the carpet. Without damaging the carpet or the rug, how can I stop them from .wrinkling and moving? Is it caused by static electricity?
- Call or visit carpet stores and ask for Rug Hold. Sometimes called Rug Grabber. It's an underlayment to prevent rugs from slipping on top of wall to wall carpet. The backing on rugs will not grab on the pile of carpet. Lowes or HomeDepot may carry it.
- Q: Does the carpet make them sound better? Or is it to protect the cabinet? Or is it just because it looks good?
- Not all of them are carpeted. In fact, I don't think I've seen any carpeted ones in many years. Old Cerwin Vegas, had carpeting as I recall. Anyway, it's just cosmetic. The carpeting doesn't show road wear as much as the Tolex vinyl coverings.
- Q: I just recently moved into an apartment that is all carpet. Wanted to know if there is any sort of temporary hardwood (or anything similar) floors, I can install over the carpet, since I am renting and cant rip out the carpets
- If it is a tight, level loop commercial grade carpet with very little give to it, you can install a snap together laminate floor over the carpet. If there is a wood subfloor under the carpet, you do not need a pad or anything under the laminate. If there is a concrete slab under the carpet, you should probably put down a moisture barrier under the laminate, such as a sheet of visquine. The really great thing about this type of floor, is that when you move, you can unsnap it, take it up, and take it with you to your next rental without doing any damage to the home. Laminate comes in a wood look and a tile look. The tile look is more expensive, but it looks great in kitchens. The wood look is marketed two ways: really cheap, fake looking stuff, and higher end laminate that really looks like and has some texture and graining like real wood. I highly recommend WilsonArt for endurance, but it costs more. Shaw laminate has some amazingly realistic looking styles for reasonable prices. If you buy an $0.89 per sq ft laminate, you will probably get some chips in it. Make sure you have some left over in case you need to do a repair (no matter which brand you buy.) Styles are discontinued regularly!
- Q: Conference room carpet, static electricity is particularly serious, how to remove? How can I get the equipment grounded? What are the specific requirements?
- Practice is not the same, the equipment grounding, as mentioned above, is a factory overall planning. In the early days of electrical installation, there was a bus. Just connect the equipment. But it is a monomial electrostatic grounding. Such as a PCB turnover car, as long as a separate static chain, to achieve anti-static effect. ESD protection 1) grounding is the connection of some antistatic products or other equipment to a ground wire. The method of buried line is used to establish "independent" ground wire. The resistance between the earth and the earth, < 10, acts as a potential charge on the discharge conductor. The grounding method is that the human body is grounded through the wrist band; the human body is grounded by the anti-static shoes and the anti-static floor; the work surface is grounded; the testing instruments, tools, clamps, irons and other grounding; anti-static floor, floor mats, grounding and so on. 2) the use of static elimination equipment such as ion fan, ion wind guns, is the electrostatic eliminator good, its principle is to produce positive and negative charges in a static eliminator, then put these charges to the place by electrostatic blowing wind, electrostatic charge polarity will be opposite in and out. The static electricity elimination equipment also has the human body static electricity release alarm device, the human body static electricity eliminator, the clean room, uses the vacuum cleaner, the ion wind mouth, the ion wind stick and so on.
- Q: I have a carpet shampooer, and I'm doing my spring cleaning, and my carpets are off white, and as you can imagine they get quite dingy, especially in winter when people are walking in snow. I have quite a lot of traffic dirt and random spots. I've not been impressed in the past with the shampoo that came with my machine. Could I use oxiclean in my machine to brighten my carpets?
- You most likely could do that if you add about a 1/4 cup of anti-foaming agent to each batch of soap solutuion. It is available at the carpet cleaning rental station at most grocery stores. It keeps the foam from overwhelming and damaging the machine.
