- Q: I spilt vegetable oil on my carpet and I can't get it out.
- Try cornmeal. Sprinkle it on heavily and leave for awhile. Vacumn it up.. If still have oil, repeat until all absorbed. Cornmeal will not stain or discolor the carpet. It is very absorbent and costs very little.

- Renting a rug doctor's the best way to go, commercial quality equipment without having to buy it. Otherwise the bissell proheat series is good. Hoover not so great in my experience....

- As long as the rug has not been cut off of a roll of carpet, and there is not any damage to the rug, you can. If you do not have a receipt, and you paid by credit/debit card or check they can look up your receipt. If you paid by cash they will give you a store credit. I worked as a head cashier for 2 1/2 years and now work in the paint department, so I know they will.

- Take the rug to a Dry Clean that specializes in fur coats...or at least one that has experience in cleaning fur coats. They should be able to clean the rug.

- Stable rug is not waterproof and not very tough material. Turnout rug is made of tougher, waterproof material.
- Q: In new construction, with concrete floors.I am putting in bifold closet doors which have a track on both the top and bottom of the door.Should I wait until the carpet is in to put the track on the floor, or should I put it in and let the carpet installer carpet up to both sides of the track?Thanks.
- Call the carpet store and ask them. If the carpet and pad are thick it may be 1 to 1 1/2 thick or even more. Will your doors fit on top of the carpet, will the track be solid or will the door wobble on top of the carpet. If the carpet is flat and you are gluing it down it may be OK. If on top of the carpet you will need to remove it before you replace the carpet . Put the track down and have the carpe fit to the track.
