- Q:I have just bought a pair of Yamaha HS50m monitors, connected only the power cable, switched them both on, and they are both making a noticeable constant hissing noise? Is this normal? Should this happen? Is it because I have not yet connected them to my interface or any other device?I am worried I have purchased a dodgy pair and would be grateful for any info.many thanks
- Almost all powered studio monitors have some hiss if you have the input level turned all the way up - this is normal.
- Q:I don't have the power cable no more..its an 8 pin power cable and it has on the back120v24v12v5vits a round adaptor and it looks like an old computer keyboard but it has 8 pins.thanksromeo
- Sounds like you need a standard S-Video Cable, available just about anywhere. We can get them locally at the 99cent only store, walmart, target, ect
- Q:I just bought a new motherboard and it had a 24 pin power thingy, my power supply was only a 20 pin. After looking at my manual it said I was able to do that if I aligned them a specific way. After that PC turns on, the lights turn on, hard drives turn on, and everything else. the thing is the screen stays black and says no signal.I was looking on the motherboard and there is a 4 pin ATX12V1, but there is no such cable that comes out of my power supply. I think the reason the screen stays blank is because it said that was used to power the CPU. What can I do since I do not have a ATX12V1 cable that connects to my motherboard? The only cables that come out of my pwr supply are for the IDE and floppy.
- Buy okorder for little to nothing depending on what you are looking for. Gaming and lighted ones are going to cost a little more but you should be able to pick one up cheap!!! Hopefully you bought the correct motherboard! But you are definitely going to have to have the correct power supply to feed the proper amount of power to your CPU! ;-)
- Q:So my old power cord cable is no longer working and i need a replacement but i cant find one. does anybody know where i can find one? PLease include links
- The picture in the manual shows a standard IEC type power cord, which you can get at any electronics or computer store.
- Q:i want to use a 120 vac extention cord wire for the power cable to my amp, is this safe? extention cords have a heavier gage than the wire in radio shack and such and is much cheaper. i dont see why this would be a problem considering car batteries are only 12 volts vs. 120 volt extention cord raiting
- It's not the voltage you should be concerned about. It's the amperage. The amperage is lower on a house ~a/c system b/c the voltage is higher; that is the electricity moves faster. Another thing noteworthy is it can be more than 12V, when your car is on the pwer is coming from the Alternator not the battery. I wouldn't go with anything less than 8 gauge wire at the least. Go to radio shack or the auto parts store and buy it bulk off the spool should only cost 10 bucks for 6-8 ft. . Good luck
- Q:hi i need to connect a extra cd rom drive to my computer and dont have enough 4 pin power cables in my computer how would i get those and how would i install those. Thanks
- These are called Y-Cable. Buy one. Remove the power cable from the old cdrom. Attach it to the newly purchased cable. Now you get 2 new points. Attach one to old cdrom and other to the new cdrom.
- Q:How to choose the diameter of the power cable threading protection tube?
- PE cable that waterproof cable can be a short time to soak the water PE water pipe is used to transmit water to the water pipe than the requirements of the drainage pipe than the cable all PE high hardness
- Q:When doing competition, is there a rule where your battery in the back can't be bigger than the one in the front? Are Monster Cables as good as they perceive to be???? I.E. their 400 series cables that are wound in different arrays to optimize each frequency out put? Can a Power cable actually provide more efficiency if constructed right, once again, their 400 series?Subwoofers being 1000 RMS but only getting 500, will running them at their RMS make a significant difference?
- Power cables are very very important when running a comp set up. You want as much current running through as you can possible get. Same goes for your ground, you want it to be just as good. Monster Cables are a very good brand of cable. RMS is basically the wattage a speaker can take continuously. If you run twice as many watts through your amp it will be significantly louder and boost your SPL.
- Q:I'm getting some upgrades for my pc and that includes a new power supply with the necessary amperage and 2 6-pin pci-e connectors to power my card. The card is already here but the psu probably won't get here until next week. I want to know if there is any way to run the card from the power coming from the pci-e slot. The card requires 2x 6-pin connectors, but i want to install it now to get that out of the way...
- No, it will simply not work as the additional power supply is needed even for normal operation (not just gaming). This is designed to avoid overloading the motherboard's power circuits.
- Q:Does it need the PCI-e power cable on the PSU
- Well the older models don't, but the newer models do. Theres either 6-pin, 8-pin, one 8-pin one 6-pin etc.
