Q: Hi well I'm wondering if I can by those 8 pin 6 pin power cords what goes in to your graphics card to plug in to a power socket on the wall. Because I only have 500 wats and at the moment I have the 4850 and already I'm thinking about getting the GTx 295 or something can't remember. But it needs more then 500 wats lmao.I don't wont to upgrade my PSU so will I be able to plug the GTx in to the the wall like as a sprite power cable what goes in to the AC power cable in the wall?BTW I live in Australia so could could you tell me where you are like USA London ect just in case Australia doesn't have it. =)And where can I buy this transfer as well.
You cannot plug it into the wall. Its too sophisticated. A single GTX 295 requires a 700-watt PSU with a 50 Amp 12v rail. Insane power consumption going on here. Upgradable to quad-SLI (woo). If you can afford a GTX why can't you afford the PSU? A PSU regulates your power and protects your equipment from voltage spikes etc. Get the PSU. Whats wrong with your 4850? can your board support a x-fire setup (two 4850s linked?) That'd be cheaper in the long run.
Q: Whats the Power Pass mean on a coax cable splitter?
It means it can pass DC current, such as used for satellite LNBs and amplified antennas
Q: Hi everyone,I attempted to build my first PC; purchased the hardware, software, etc. Everything is assembled perfectly. After installing the motherboard, power supply and the respective cards, I connect the power cable.Upon connecting the power cable, the PC turns on and the only way to turn it off is to remove the power cable (from the back of the PSU). The PC boots up as if I pressed the power button!!I've read that this problem could be the power supply or the capacitors on the board??I'd be appreciative for any advice,Thanks,p
Hmm that sounds like you have missplaced the cables to the motherboard from the front pannel (on switch, HDD led etc.) Kenny
Q: ill exlplain more the battery is connected to one end of the fuse then i want to run 2 power cables out of the other end to both of the amps will tis work or will i just loose power the fuse is 60A if that helps. 60A is massive why a fuse that big is needed i dont no
You will need to run a wire to each amp using a fused distrobution block as mentioned. A 60 amp fuse isn't really that big for car audio. Some amps can pull 80 amperes. This fuse is really only there to protect the power wire from being shorted.
Q: So I've had my laptop for about a year and a half now and I've gone through 4 power cables, 3 non-factory. What happens with each one is, I plug it in, the blue light surrounding the hole turns on, the end of the power cable that plugs into my laptop gets super hot and either melts the power cable, or when I plug the cable in, the light won't come on unless I have it in just right. This usually starts to happen between one and three months after I get a new cable. It's starting to go through them faster now, any ideas?
Get it repaired. There might be a short circuit inside the socket. It will ruin your computer if you dont act now. You will lose your laptop or spend more if the laptop itsel gets damaged.
Q: The voltage level of the cable is how much the number of high and low voltage cables
Color line, HDMI cable, S-terminal line of the three transmission video signal (HDMI can also transmit audio signal); coaxial line is the transmission of audio signals
Q: can i run a ati radeon hd 2900xt with a two 4pin molex power cable?
Direct Answer : No you can't. Indirect Answer : You can, you need a converter though, there are converters that connect two 4 pin molex power cables into one six pin video card cable. PS. If your power supply doesn't have a 6 pin cable, more likely than not this means your power supply will not be able to handle video cards like the Radeon 2900XT.
Q: I have solid interconnects and speaker cable, but I was perplexed by the notion that the power cable that comes with your power source and preamp is somehow inadequate. It seems like another thing to try to market and sell to unsuspecting enthusiasts of an expensive hobby.
For the level of equipment that most people have it will not be a noticeable difference. In fact in the ultra high end equipment side it doesn't make a huge difference anyway. However those who want the absolute best possible sound spare no expense and will look for the absolute in quality, even if that means spending $10,000 on a pair of speaker interconnects for what most consumers would consider a diminished return and not worth it. Use my 10% rule as a good place to start for interconnects and power cables, but always audition what you buy and if you don't see hear a diference or don't think it is worth it, take it back. But please do not critisice those of us that strive for the perfect sound and image.
Q: Okay so I am trying to upgrade my graphics card and In order ti di That I need a new Power Supply Unit. The PSU I was looking at is a 850 watt one and it has six pin connectors. The problem is all my componets are 4 pin connectors. If I get the new power supply can I somehow get a 6 pin connector to fit in a four pin like a adapter or something. BTW in order for the graphics card to function I need a six pin but all my other stuff in 4. So is there a way to work that out
Most modern component use SATA power cables. Some older components uses the 4 pin molex connector, and by old I don't mean old really, I mean recent. Even CD/Blu-ray drives are going to SATA power now though =[, so 4 pins may be phased out in the next decade or so. Many modern PSU's come with 4 pin molex connectors, PCI-e X6 pin connectors, and a variety of other connectors you'll need. If you really are worried just check the specifications, it should list all the connectors it has. If you're getting a 850Watt PSU chances are it will have some variation of PCI-E X6 pins, either x6 pin or x6 + 2 (6 + 2 basically functions like a 6 pin and will work just like a 6 pin, so don't freak out about that either). And most modern PSU's will come with plenty of 4 pin molex cables as well. Basically, you should be fine no matter what. And yes, there are 4 pin Molex to 6 pin PCI-e power adapters, normally it takes 2 Molex to power 1 6 pin though.
Q: I lost the power cord and I can't seem to find a replacement online. Is there anything I can do to savage this since I do not want to buy a new printer. If it helps, I have an old power cable from a samsung ML 2510, but that printer is deemed useless since it started to smell like smoke.
It is the same kind of cable for your pc power supply, just find it in computer shops.
