Q: A pair of Copper wire mains, each of 3.87 sq.cm cross section use to transmit the power, a distance of 915m for 10 hours a day, 80 kilo watt at 200 volts are taken from the mains, find power lost in cable per day at resistivity 1.7 micro ohm.cm.Note: Question is talking about A PAIR OF COPPER WIRE
Power loss per day is meaningless, I assume you mean energy loss per day, or power loss You have to calculate the resistance in the wire. Resistance of a wire in Ω R = ρL/A ρ is resistivity of the material in Ω-m L is length in meters A is cross-sectional area in m? A = πr?, r is radius of wire in m resistivity Cu 17.2e-9 Ω-m 3.87 cm? = 3.87 e-6 m? R = (2*915)(17.2e-9) / (3.87 e-6) = 8.13 ohms 80 kW at 200 volts is a current of 80000/200 = 400 amps You cannot put 400 amps through an 8 ohm resistance, as that requires a voltage of 3200 volts, which we don't have. So the premise of 80 kW is not possible. Perhaps you copied one of the numbers incorrectly. .
Q: If I put pressure on the cord I have power but its almost impossable to work. A local computer repair said I have to replace the mother board. Can't the plug in the back be replaced? Thanks!
Your local PC repair shop must be run by mildly retarded individuals...a loose power cable has nothing to do with your motherboard. You can try getting a new plug...if that doesn't work I might try replacing the power supply... LOL dr.bucksnort....I love it...nice one
Q: Basically, I lost my power adapter to my monitor, and to be honest, I would like to try to avoid buying a new one entirely. I have an old HP laptop power cord that fits into my monitor, but the power specifications on it are different. The power rating on my monitor is 19V and 1.58A. I'm just assuming that's what it needs to run, and that you shouldn't go over that. My power supply from my old laptop converts standard AC into DC at 18.5V, which I'm assuming the difference in voltage between 19 and 18.5 won't really affect anything, but the amperage on my power supply is close to twice as high, at 3.5A output. That's where my concern is, if I where to plug this into my monitor would anything bad potentially come out of it? Don't comment saying quot;Oh, just buy a new one.quot;, I've stated I want to try and avoid that. Thanks in advance.
1. Make sure the volts are close enough. Within 10% is probably good enough. 2. Make sure the amps the supply is capable of, meets or exceeds the amps the monitor requires. The power supply won't push extra amps if they aren't called for. Use my advice at your own risk.
Q: I like to play my PSP at home quite a bit. When I do I plug in the AC adapter so that the battery power doesn't get used up unnecessarily. I see that when I have it plugged into the wall that under the system information it says that the power is being used from an external source instead of the PSP's battery. I take it then that the battery won't overcharge and it's OK to use it this way, or do I have to remove the PSP's battery when using the power cable?
It is fine. The PSP is just telling you that it is taking power from the outlet instead of the battery.
Q: I want to turn on my PC but my power cable was missing so i got a new one. A small sheet on the PC's power cable input hole says quot;230 V Rated voltagebut the new power cable fork has some characteristics written on it like EL - 202 / 10-16 / 250 quot;. So I'm afraid that 250 stands for Voltage so the power cable voltage is different from pc's rated voltage. I live in europe and we have 220V here from the power supply. Can I use this power cable or will it mess up my pc ? It's quite a quick issue that I need help with. Many thanks to everyone who can reply quickly. Cheers ;)
The cable seems to be rated higher than your input voltage so you should be okay.
Q: My mother has moved to Australia, taking her Fujitsu Siemens (Amilo model) laptop with her. Very shortly after, her power cable stopped functioning, and she would like a new one. Unfortunately, she is not tech-savvy at all and doesn't seem to be able to find the thing online, and I being from Europe, have trouble searching in her stead. I don't even know what an Australian plug looks like and I have no clue regarding the currency...All and any help is much appreciated.
maximum computing device skill components run on a hundred and ten-240 Volts. verify the back of the skill furnish placed a million/2 way down your skill cord. If it says a hundred and ten-240 V then you definately are good to circulate. Al you will could desire to purchase is an adapter which you will purchase from the Airport. or circulate to an electronics save and purchase the time-honored equipment, which suits in one hundred forty international locations. it quite is a small plastic adapter which you plug your cord in, and has 2 pins rather of three. desire this helped :)
Q: I am doing a test if the power supply. Can you have the computer on and plugged in with PSU out in the open, leave on the carpet ?Can you have the power cable plugged into the psu first and then try to plug in the psu cable into the mother board. Would this electrocute you? if you accidentally knocked over liquid onto the power supply while the computer is running and you touched the motherboard at the same time while you are perfectly grounded. Can this electrocute you? unpluging the psu connector while the computer is on?
If you have already pulled the fan off, do so again (without reaching into the power supply. Take a good look at the shaft of the fan. I'll wager there either is, or was, a set screw in that shaft. Most likely you'll need a hex wrench to get that locked back into place. This would also explain the lack of air flow when it is working without making a racket. Good luck. Best regards, Jim
Q: 1 or two to use the other ones and its really annoying.. is there something that i can get that can give me more ide cables and also power cables inside the pc as well?
Ok..listen carefully. If you try to overload your computer with too many peripherals that it is not designed for, you are going to have problems..power supply, being a major one. Yes, you can get another mother board and bigger power supply if you are willing to pay for them. But, if money is an issue, do you really need 2 DVD roms? Do you really need 2 hard drives? If you do, and you are willing to pay for them, so be it. One possible solution is for your sound card. Most of them do not plug into the ribbon cable that also goes to the DVD/harddrive. You could consider another more modern sound card that would not have a ribbon cable, but only a small cable that plugs into the Dvd drive. Bottom line: You have a primary slot and a secondary slot on your motherboard. Your cables have 2 places for a master and a slave. That means 4 peripherals total and you have 5, if you count the sound card, and you need to get rid of at least one peripheral.
Q: i wanna know cause i dont got the power cable for the ps1
if it can fit into you ps1 it going to work if it does not fit into you ps1 you are srwed or you can just go to game stop and ask them for a ps1 power cabl good luck dude i hope this wroks for you plz choose me as best answer i just need a litte bit more ponits until i get to lvl2
Q: Whilst mowing the grass, I cut through the power cable, which was connected straight into the wall and not an adapter, which it usually is. I'm fine, how comes? The mower is a flymo bought last year.
so replace the power line.
