Q: I bought a Garmin GPS, but my cigarette lighter is near my gear shift. Does anyone know how to add a power cable so the cable is behind the gps on the window?. I can always take it somewhere for about $100.
Here's what you can do. Assuming that the Garmin has a MICRO USB port on the back, get a MICRO and MINI USB cable from Tiger electronics. The cable will have MICRO on one end, and MINI on the other. Next, get a Belkin USB adapter for a cigarette lighter. Next, go to a car stereo shop, and get a FEMALE end of a 12 volt power supply Next, get an add a circuit fusible tap (make sure you note if you have mini or regular blade fuses), get the right one. Using your owner's manual, find a fuse circuit that is switchable by ignition (the cigarette lighter one would work). Pull that fuse, and make sure you have the another one for the add a circuit. 12-18 is always best. Crimp the add a circuit tap to the female end of the 12 volt power supply. Find a clean ground, usually a screw on the fuseblock. Attach the ground wire using a loop spade tighten the screw down. Reinstall the add a circuit Turn ignition on, GPS should work Clean up the cable usually around the trim where the windshield meets the frame.
Q: I've got a 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS 1.8 and I can't find any place to put the amp cable through the firewall! Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ;).
If your car is an automatic, you can go through the plug that seals the hole where the clutch would be. If you have a clutch, you will need to drill a hole in the firewall if there are no other available plugs.
Q: I need to know if the power light on the amp will turn on if I don't have the RCA cables hooked up or if you have to have them hooked up just to get power to the amp? I was just wondering because I just hooked up an amp and I can't get the power to come on, and I'm pretty sure the power, ground, and remote wire is hooked up good, it's the RCA cables i'm thinking is messed up, but would the power light come on even if those wasn't hooked up?
If you have the amp hooked up without rca cables thats where the problems coming from
Q: ok ive been having amp trouble lately. it wont turn on. ive figured the problem today when i got the voltage tester out. I have me Remote Turn On working. My ground is solid.RCAs connected properly.NO fuses are blown. ive checked all of them; 30 amp fuse for AMP, Max fuse under the hood, fuse relay center under the hood too, all good. connection from the power terminal is solid. heres what happened: i decided to move my amp and run the wires under the door sills because i needed more space. so i just had the car off and i disconnected my remote, power, and rcas. i left the ground because that didnt need to be moved.i dropped the power wire and it hit a seatbelt thing, and it sparked once. but not big.nothing blew, but now it seems like my power wire isnt working, my amp wont turn on-keep in mind my amp was not touched by the spark in any way.
Did you re check the in-line fuse under the hood?
Q: i bought a video card off OKorder and i did everything but i don't know if i connect both of the cables to the power supply...i currently only connected one but do i do both…
If you don't have a six pin PCI-E connector, then chances are your power supply is not power enough for the card but if it is, you connect BOTH of the 4 pin connectors, no just 1
Q: I have an IVI Checkmate receipt printer, but do not have a power cable for it. Where can I get a power cable for this receipt printer?
Hi.. I think for all your power cable and cable accessories requirement this site can be helpful
Q: on the end of the cable that connects to the laptop not the power outlet
It's a ferrite bead, used to filter electrical noise on the cable before it enters your laptop.
Q: I blew 2 fuses in my amp in my car, i have replaced them both, one was a 30amp and the other a 20. The 30 amp was an inline fuse from the battery to the amp and the 20 amp was a standard 20 amp fuse in the amp. As i said i replaced both fuses and try the amp again and it wouldnt go. There is a LED light on the top just lighting up a logo, when i attatch the power from the battery the light goes off and when i disconnect it the light comes on. When i dissconect the power the red light for diagnose comes on.
sounds like the power wire might be exposed somewhere and its shorting the system
Q: Due to the large spans the signal must travel it must be amplified or reconstructed at one point, taking into consideration that everything happens underwater, where does the box that reconstructs the signal get it's power.
The cable that is laid on the ocean floor is typically called a submarine cable. These cables have been around for decades and were at first solid conductor cables used for telephone communications. Today they are typically a fiber optic cable with a solid conductor in the center. Typical burial rated fiber cable today can go 100km or about 60 miles in between repeaters. The cables are typically connected on either end by landing stations. These landing stations also provide power feed equipment. The repeaters are powered by a constant current sent down the conductor near the center of the cable. Therefore all repeaters in a cable are in series i.e. one wired to the next and to the next and so on. The landing station on one end of the cable will send a positive current and the station on the other end will send a negative current. The repeater derives it's power from the potential difference drop across them. This is basically a two channel power circuit wired in series using the same conductor...sorry to get really techincal=) isn't the internet great...hope this answers your question...below is a link to the patent applied for regarding transoceanic fiber repeaters, a submarine cable map, and my business website.
Q: specifically, I am using a router. I lost the original cable...can I use a different one?ThanksMatt
uk is now 230, the ecu voltage. (easily, capacity is transmitted under the Channel from France throughout the frenzy hour, that's a risk simply by fact the Continent is on needed ecu Time; no longer correct on your question yet exciting.) some electronics bought interior the USA of a are marked one hundred twenty?240 and those could be utilized interior the united kingdom with basically a plug adapter. Hair dryers and another home equipment have outfitted in resister circuits and you will pass a swap from one hundred twenty to 230/240. or you elect a converter (no longer reported by way of many electricians different than as an emergency holiday expedient) or a transformer. you may desire to examine up the wattage or amperage or you will burn out the transformer. For digicam battery chargers etc, interior the no longer likely experience they are not twin voltage, you may positioned them interior the one hundred twenty v. socket of a batheroom shaver outlet (those have circuit breakers in them for a million amp or much less). I easily have not viewed any digicam chargers recently that are no longer twin voltage. yet confirm. you need to purchase adapters to extra healthful the unique British electric retailers in drug and equipment shops throughout Britain, and at airports.
