- Q: If i were to buy rims and wheels for a 1995 lexus sc400 (RWD) and wanted to switch the rims and wheels onto a FWD car, could i? the wheels are offset (rear ones are wider), so could i just switch the rear wheels with the front wheels when i put thm on the fwd car? BTW, i already know the wheels and rims fit both cars, just wondering about the opposite (front-back) wheel sizes. Thanks
- If you put wider wheel, thus wider tires on the rear wheels of a FWD, you are going to get more understeer than usual. If you look at people who race FWD in road courses, they put wider wheels and tires in front to reduce understeer. Understeer is not fun. The front of car will slide whenever you throw your car into a corner. And you need to reduce speed or adjust you steering to correct this. This is something that most race car drivers want to eliminate, but car manufacturer set up a little understeer for saftety reason to warn drivers that the car is at its cornering limit. So larger wheels and tires in rear of a FWD is not a very good idea.
- Q: I‘m looking at purchasing new wheels for my WRX STi. I‘ve narrowed it down to either Work XD-9s, Emotion Kai, OZ Ultraleggeras or Prodrive PFF-7s. These wheels are within my price category. Any suggestions on these choices or any other wheel? Thanks.
- well, go for oz if you want to be just like every other lame-*** STi them oz look stock on that car. to be just a little more original try the ro_ja r2-5
- Q: What is the meaning of the car wheel? For example, 255/55 R18; behind the R18 is the diameter of it, is the whole tire or wheel hub?
- Example: P215 / 60R18 89H "P" refers to car tires. (To distinguish tires for trucks or other models) "215" means the width of the tire section, the width (in millimeters) between the two sidewalls. This width varies with the width of the rims matched by the tires: wide rims with wide tires, narrow rims with narrow tires. The width of the tire, which is generally marked on the sidewall, refers to the width of the tire when the tire is mounted to the desired width of the rim. "60" is the flat ratio of the tire, the width of the tire width and the height of the tire, where the tire height accounted for 65% of the width of the tire, the smaller the value, the more flat. "R" refers to the structure of the tire, indicating that the tire is a meridian structure, that is to say its ply is arranged in the carcass. "B" means that the tire is a skew structure, the current skewed car tires have ceased to exist. "18" indicates the rim diameter (in inches), the tire must match the 18-inch rim, otherwise it can not be installed. "89" indicates the load index: This tire has a maximum load of 1,279 pounds. Different load indices represent different maximum loads (usually in pounds or kilograms). "H" indicates the speed level: the maximum speed of the tire is 130 miles per hour. The old European bead marking system is indicated by 215 / 65HR15. Different English letters indicate different speed levels.
- Q: Hey guys,I‘m a noob skateboarder and i bought my skate a month ago. It‘s standard sized but I replaced the wheels with 70c cruising wheels because I encounter a lot of rough ground. However, I‘ve been trying to ollie a lot but I can‘t do it. Is it possible to do simple tricks on soft wheels? If not I might have to change them to the stock hard ones.
- the softness of the wheels shouldnt effect your ollie at all. softness just affects your sliding. its probably how big your wheels are. idk what 70c is but if its like a longboard wheel, then thats why. its way to big
- Q: And what ever happened to hubcaps?
- First we need some definitions so its not apples and oranges here. The perennial (classic) hub cap from pre-WW2 to the 80's and on was metallic decorative, covered the entire steel wheel rim out to the OD almost, was pried off with tire tool and installed with rubber mallet and were collected and swapped around.and would race down the highway when they became dislodged hitting a bump or curb. The wheel cover came along more or less with the eighties and covered mainly only the hub (grease cap and axle) and were held on by screws and speed nuts. These were often lost or damaged or the screws/nuts lost when garage personnel would repair, replace, remount tires. Some times they would have an OD hubcap like rim that pounded on like a hub cap. These evolved into somewhat larger units with elimination of the outer rings. These were all molded plastic. Along with OBD2 came the transition in the 20noughts to the wagon wheel type spoked wheels (steel rims becoming a special order so never used option), primarily molded aluminum and decorative in their own right once you get past the the wagon wheel affect. The coverless wheel was/is a response to need for suspended weight savings in order to meet gov't fuel economy mandates.and brake cooling to compensate for similar lightening of brake components. Recently, as some have come to realize the aesthetic appeal of the old hub caps as opposed to wagon wheels, some wheels styled to camouflage spokes or even to carry caps have reappeared. Whether or not that will become a trend depends on whether or not people tend to remain complacent about spoked wheel styling, or with the very substantial nuisance and expense factor when it comes to cleaning and maintaining them.
- Q: The medecine wheel is the wheel that represents creation, community, and equality.
- Possibly the equal armed cross and the swastika before it was contaminated by Nazism. Both are solar wheels just like the Native American medicine wheel with similar symbolism.
- Q: 13-year-old bear child driving alone 8 hours, causing the city to find, find the wheel has been punished, said driving is self-taught. What do you think of this?
- Prodigy for death
- Q: What is the difference between front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, and four wheel drive? Which kind of drive do most cars today use?
- Front wheel - engine causes front wheels to move in turn moving the vehicle Rear wheel - engine causes rear wheels to move in turn moving the vehicle Four wheel - a little more complicated, but engine causes all four wheels to move in turn moving the vehicle Most passenger cars have front wheel drive Most trucks have rear wheel drive (minus minivans and some small car-based SUVs) Four wheel drive can be found on many trucks and SUVs.
- Q: By reason, the wheel cover and tire flat can reduce the car wind resistance. Why is the F1 car without a wheel cover?
- F1 modeling is not to reduce the wind resistance design, but to increase the pressure. So there is no need to waste weight to the wheel cover
- Q: Car to do four rounds of maintenance when the wheel bearings do not need to dissolve refueling (except the cart, mainly with the core of the 2-in-1 of the kind of overall bearing)
- Two-in-one bearings generally do not have to break the oil ah but also sub-models ah I am now a diesel engine that is necessary to break up the oil ah gasoline engine is rarely broken down ah
