Q: in a 1989 f150 i know how but the sterring wheel dont move what da heck
Car tires have a flat tread. Motorcycle tires have a rounded tread so they get traction while leaning in a corner. Cars don't lean in corners. I would think it would be dangerous to use a car tire on a motorcycle, even on a cruiser or touring bike. This is because you would be fighting the bike to lean in a corner. If the bike would lean in a corner you would ride up on the side wall which would give little traction. I wouldn't risk my life to save a few bucks on a tire. Do it right and use a tire designed for the task.
Q: im lookin into gettin a car for my sis and she is really interested in this celica. the owner said it needs a wheel bearing and a spindle assembly. how much for both parts and labor am i lookin to spend
Quality is like buying oats. If you want good quality oats, you pay a good price for them. If however you want oats that have already gone through the horse, well they are cheaper.
Q: hi every body<i want to know about a train wheel and how the flange of the wheel holds the train in the track and avoids derailment?
Interesting questioin. The flanged wheel has been called one of the greatest inventions of mankind. As stated above the flanges are on the inside of each wheel and rub against a wear surface of the rail. In other words, each wheel is responsible for one half of the forces required for keeping the train on track. The width (guage) of the rail is absolutely critical in keeping things operating. Amazing system when you consider it, the flange is not much higher than the width of your thumb, the actual contact patch of a wheel on rail is about the size of a dime. That gives you a bit of an idea why trains are so much more efficient than any other type of land based transportation.
Q: can any kind of aftermarket rim be powdercoated to a color of my choice?I am interested in the tenzo DC5 rim, but I don't like any of the colors. can you explain the proccess of powdercoating, and if it can be done to this wheel?thank you.
May I stand in disagreement to your plan on powder-coating a wheel of any base metal origin. Weather a wheel is aluminum, steel or magnesium it contains base metal impurities. No mater what solution, aluminum oxide, glass bead or silicon carbide blasting used will not render the surface totally clean. We have a powder-coater in the area who is a metallurgist and I posed your very same question. His answer was they would be happy to do it but would not guarantee that the power-coat job would stay on for an extended period of time.
Q: My daughter is almost 9 years old and does not know how to ride a bike yet. I really want to go shopping for bikes this weekend and teach her to ride by summer. The problems? She lacks confidence when it comes to physically demanding activities. And she is over the 50lb weight limit of training wheels at the store. So #1, where do you find training wheels for big kids? I would prefer something with a 100lb weight limit so that I can assure her they are plenty strong. And #2, do you even think training wheels are necessary? I learned without them, but are they very useful for the average kid?
leave it alone and it will still get you home. maybe stiffen the suspension for race conditions.
Q: i skate on the road in front of my house and on my patio. im looking for good wheels for that can take a hard landing without cracking. if possible under $30
bones are the best. small wheels which is 48mm-53mm i think are good for street because they slide which is better for reverts and powerslides. Also when you do a 180 on the street you usually have to slide it around a bit. big wheels which are 53mm-60mm are good for droping in and going fast so you dont slide. they will grip better and wont slide. 53mm i s an all around wheel
Q: I was considering putting a quick release race wheel into my 94 Mazda. What exactly do I need to purchase other than the wheel? I know a hub of some sort is involved
Look, Caleb. If you want to play racer, keep the car off the street. Steering wheels are not supposed to come off. Don't play with it. Leave it alone. Unless you are crammed in behind the wheel of an actual race car where the steering wheel needs to be removed in order to get you out so you don't burn to death, you have exactly zero reasons to have a quick-release steering wheel. I cannot stress enough to leave it alone.
Q: Okay I‘m buying a new car and it‘s two wheel drive, except that it is front wheel drive? I have never driven a front wheel drive before. Anyone have any opinions on front wheel drive cars? What are the differences between front wheel and rear wheel drive??-thanks
Front wheel drive won't be a problem. The only thing i have with them is they have less traction in accelerating because when you accelerate the front lifts up causing the wheels in the front to have less force on the ground and the back sinks down which with rear wheel drive the back sinking down will cause more force on the rear tires. Unless your going racing or is a street racer i wouldn't worry about it. Most cars are front wheel drive anyways. GOOD LUCK!!
Q: Bicycle wheel width and not wide What is the difference? Wide benefits Narrow the benefits?
Mountain bike tires of course wide and good, strong grip, but not suitable for road riding, wind resistance is too big. Sports car, of course, is a narrow road car, road riding a small wind resistance, easier. The width of the tires should be chosen according to the road.
Q: I suggest filling in the wheel with confetti, so when the puncture does not feel so bad mood. Is this feasible? What will be the impact on the wheel?
Yes, the paper does not affect, is estimated that the number of puncture can not spray, but also no mood to see
