Q: Why does the wheel turn?
Because the car is going to move forward, the wheels must be turned
Q: I saw the 3 wheel motorcycles, however I have my ninja 250 still (I plan on keeping it) What do you guys/ girls think? 2 wheelers or 3 and explain.
Many three-wheelers which exist in the form of motorcycle-based machines are often called trikes and often have the front single wheel and mechanics similar to that of a motorcycle and the rear axle similar to that of a car. Often such vehicles are owner-constructed using a portion of a rear-engine, rear-drive Volkswagen Beetle in combination with a motorcycle front end. Other trikes include ATVs that are specially constructed for off road use. Three-wheeled automobiles can have either one wheel at the back and two at the front, (for example: Morgan Motor Company) or one wheel at the front and two at the back (such as the Reliant Robin). Due to better safety when braking, an increasingly popular form is the front-steering tadpole or reverse trike sometimes with front drive but usually with rear drive. A variant on the 'one at the front' layout was the Scott Sociable, which resembled a four-wheeler with a front wheel missing. Three-wheeler cars, including some cyclecars, bubble cars and microcars, are built for economic reasons: in the UK for tax advantages, or in the US to take advantage of lower safety regulations, being classed as motorcycles. As a result of their light construction and potential better streamlining, three-wheeled cars are usually less expensive to operate.[citation needed] Three-wheeler transport vehicles known as auto rickshaws are a common means of public transportation in many countries in the world, and are an essential form of urban transport in many developing countries such as India and the Philippines. Auto rickshaws are a form of novelty transport in many Eastern countries.
Q: What does a steering wheel lock do? How would it prevent someone from stealing a car?
A steering wheel lock, locks a strong bar across the wheel and keeps it from being turned. Before locking the wheel, you turn if full left or right so the wheels are cut and the vehicle is difficult to tow or push. If you're talking about a CLUB go for it. One luxury a thief doesn't have is time and if your vehicle has a steering wheel lock on it, most thieves will look for easier pickings. You might also get a discount on your auto insurance, check with your agent.
Q: Can you list any good websites that you can get wheels for a Honda CBR 900rr. Does not have to be custom or chrome etc, just direct replacement wheels.Remember 10 points to the best answer.(I dont want sites that only cover choppers cruisers etc)
Look up Dennis Kirk or J P. They both sell tires.
Q: I am planning on getting new wheels for the car, and I have a couple questions about the offset as I do not understand it 100%So the current offset of my stock wheels are at +37If I get new wheels and the offset is 20, how would that make a difference on the appearance/handling.Will it make the wheels stick out more or go in more? And would hub centric wheel spacers be recommended to make up for the difference? Would the handling be worse on the car? Thanks for your help!
If you were to replace ET37 with ET20, assuming they are the same width rim/tire, the wheel will stick OUT by 17 millimeters. I would guess this will be too aggressive and stick out of your wheel well and most likely rub against the fender. Forget about spacers with this setup as it would be counter-intuitive. If the new wheels are wider, it will stick out even further. If the new wheels are thinner, then it might mitigate the difference but this is unlikely since ET20 wheels typically come on aggressive looking cars like the M3 and would definitely be a wider wheel. If you were to go the other way, ie. ET44, then you would want 7 mm spacers (in this example) to offset the difference and reduce the tucked look, again assuming same width. As for handling, having your wheels further out makes the car a bit more stable, and looks much better in my opinion. My car is oem ET31 and I have ET47 winter rims, implying they're tucked in 16mm compared to stock. I didn't use spacers last winter, I thought it handled just fine, could barely notice any difference in both city and highway driving. However, they looked strange from behind due to the offsets. Hope this helps you understand offsets a bit better. I would look for a similar offset and avoid spacers altogether if possible. Good luck!
Q: are they the same thing? which is better? which is safer? I‘m looking at Honda Pilot 2005 and it is all wheel drive. I want four wheel drive; is that the same thing?
I think the difference is four wheel is 2 wheel until you put it in 4 wheel manually. I had a Subaru Forester that was all wheel drive. All four wheels were active all the time unless one or two wheels were spinning (such as in slush, slick snow or ice). It would then put all the power behind the non spinning wheels. I have never drove a car that was so good on every surface. My husband said it was the most sure tracking car he had ever driven. I went through snow that was half way up! to the doors. I sold it for a larger Hylander and I still miss the way it performed in the winter. Loved that car!!! Consumer Reports will tell you what you want to know about how the Honda Pilot 4 wheel performs and what kind of mileage you can expect. Your library has copies of this book and magazine. Honda's have a good repair record. Good Luck
Q: my truck come with 20" wheels i wondering if 17" wheels will fit it
17 Wheels For Dodge Ram 1500
Q: So i have a 1991 honda accord LX. My car is perfectly aligned. but oddly my steering wheel is turened about 45 degrees to the left as drives straight and have no probles driving it what-so-ever. It has been in an accident before (only 1). Was hit on front passenger side, which left the wheel dented inward at the top. I was told i need to replace a few parts, and got a new hub bearing, steering knuckle, lower and upper control arm, and afterwards my tire was straight like it was before the only difference was the steering wheel. Could it be the whole steering gear that needs to be replaced? or the rack? what could the problem be?
wen they did the alignment they didn't center the steering wheel. that's one of the first steps of doing that job. so i would go back and tell them to get the steering wheel centered.
Q: Hit the wheel "is what it means
Hit the wheel, also known as French wet kiss!
Q: Will plastic ruin a metal grind wheel?
ruin it? No. But it will melt into the pores on the wheel. However, you can get the wheel back into shape with a grinding wheel dressing tool. Just google that and you'll see all kinds of them. It basically wears off the top layer of abrasive grains and opens up fresh pores. the wheel will be like new again.
