- Take okorder ..... , will require more yardage. Measure the welting cord and stripping currently on the chair and add 10-15%.

- a fail proof way to get an idea of how much fabric you will need: Take a tablecloth and drape it over the chair. This will give you a feeling of how much fabric you will need. If the tablecloth is too big, buy less fabric than the table cloth measurements and vice versa. I realize this is not a professional way to measure, but for the layman, it is a great way to get the spacial measurement needed.
- Q: To reduce low back pain when working at the computer, is a Ball Chair the best, or a Kneeling Chair? Any comments from users would be appreciated.
- The problem with a Ball chair is that you have to try to keep good posture all the time and that is very hard to do. The kneeling chair is the same way. Research has shown that the average person can only keep good posture for about seven minutes, before they start to slouch. You should just get a good chair with good lumbar support and a high back to make sure that you keep your head against the back and not forward toward the screen. The key thing with lower back pain and chairs is that we were not meant to sit in a chair for five hours straight. One should take breaks as often as possible to stretch and walk around. I really didn't answer your question, because I don't recommend either one. Hope this helps.

- I would have the chairs moved inside. Will there be a space for a cocktail hour so that someone has time to set up? If so, I see no need to waste money on chairs that will only be used for 30 to 60 minutes.

- if you are painting it, you do not need to strip it. sand every spot that is worn, spot prime the bare wood, fill all low spots with plastic wood or ready patch, sand when dry, spot prime the patched areas, prime the whole surface of the chair, sand the whole chair with steel wool, wipe it down with a tack cloth to remove all steel hairs, then spray the last coat on with an hvlp sprayer. u may recoat, or clear coat to add protection with out further sanding... i would use an oil base primer and top coat

- Q: I have a desk chair that leans back and one of the arms broke. When you lean back in the chair it puts alot of stress on the arm and it finally snapped after a couple of years. - You are wrong about using a glue. But then glue is not the right word anyway. Use a material called PL Premium Construction Adhesive. Tube section at many locations. Just don't spend much time breathing it and do not get it on your skin. This adhesive is used to stick most anything to anything - forever. Builders and masons have used this stuff for decades. The old joke is that PL will stick a Volkswagon to a brick wall. How strong? Well, if you use PL to stick two large boards together, you will never be able to break the bond - even with an axe or a ten pound sledge. The wood will be smashed to pieces and the two adhesive faces will still be solidly stuck together. As it relates to your work, I have used it to repair runners on rocking chairs and legs that have snapped apart. Still going thirty years later.
