Q: Hi im trying to renovate my bathroom ,but im trying not to put that 1/4 inch cement floor to put the tile on cause its going to be biger than the living room floor is there anything else i can use that can be smaller than 1/4 inch floor board.i know theres like a thin membrain like paper or something ...please help: You can use regular plywood as a sub-floor and it is cheaper.

Q: Has anyone had any issues with installing kitchen cabinets over Pergo floors? The installation instructions don't recommend it, I was wondering why? I'm screwing the cabinets do the floors or anything, and have left the appropriate space for expansion around the perimeter.Just looking for some personal comments on your experience with Pergo.Thanks!: i think of that ensure you flow with the wood. it would look quite large with the pergo floor. I quite have pergo in my eating room and lounge, yet we've not placed it interior the kitchen yet. we even have wood cabinets. my neighbor has pergo in her kitchen with wood cabinets and it sounds as though quite large.

Q: My dog urinated on our laminate wood floors and how the floor seems to have lifted, almost like air bubbles along the seams of the flooring. It looks horrible and I feel like these floors should be resistant to water and other liquids. Can anyone help?: Laminate flooring is the most overrated stuff on the market...no one tells you about how it warps with water, it is not nearly as scratch resistant as you are led to believe, and no matter who says what, it does NOT look real. Your floor is lost, sorry, but the liquid will just keep traveling and more and more of the floor will lift.

Q: what is the best brand laminate flooring?: They just laid new vinyl flooring in my house and its was not laid correctly they did not put any filler on the floor so you see every bump there is on the floor. Q: Vinyl tile floor: NEVER use mop and glow!! it is terrible!!.....first sweep, and clean the floor very well....let dry, then rinse the floor with a bucket of water with vinegar, this will neutralize any soap residue...let dry...go to your local hardware store, or walmart and buy floor wax (ask for help if you need it) then, use a clean mop.....wet the mop with plain water and wring it out ....pour small amounts of wax onto the floor and evenly spread it around with the mop (do not re-dunk your mop) do the entire floor....you may need to repeat a second time.....make sure it is COMPLETLY dry before you walk on it.....regular maintenance after waxing is easy too.....just sweep and mop with vinegar water....do not use ammonia based cleaners!! good luck!!

Q: I'm not sure what is wrong with the floor in my house. On the hardwood part there are lumps forming all over the place. In the laminate kitchen there a lumps and you can feel where it's sinking in certain places. What kind of company should I get to look at the floor or foundation? The house is only 7yrs old and we just moved in 6 mos ago. We had the home inspected before we moved in. Is there any way insurance pays for this if it's a major problem? Shouldn't our inspector have seen this? It's seems like there are new bumps and sinking every day.: First look for major water leak.Then if water is standing under your home.Is the yard draining properly?Its a water problem.
