Q: i accidentally spilled my nail polish on my carpet last night!! does anyone know of any tricks to take it out???
Nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol, be sure to dab the stain don't rub because it will spread the stain. Good Luck! :)
Q: I have burned holes in my rug that need repaired. I have a piece of the same rug. Can this be repaired eaisly.....or best to call repair service.
Cut a square piece of the rug out. Take an old pair of jeans. Cut out a square 1 bigger on all sides as the cut square of the rug. Use Elmers glue and glue the jeans square to the subflooring then put glue on the top of the square. Cut a piece of the carpet from the piece that you have the same size as the first square you cut out. Place it on top of the blue jeans square and press down to make sure it is totally catching the glue. Voila!
Q: It's like a Persian rug (much less expensive--a rustic rug for our lodge-style home that's perfect as a wallhanging, but we want to hang the rug like a tapestry using velcro against a velcro-stapled board (as they do in museums). The problem is that the weaving is so virtually impenetrable that I'm breaking needles, fraying thread, creating callouses, dying a slow death :-) This will take me next to forever. There must be a better way than doing this by hand. Or, am I simply using the wrong equipment? I'm using curved upholstery needles, thimbles, upholstery thread (the thread often frays or comes out of its knot!), pliers (for the intense pushing of the needles through the shield-like rug backing. Please help!I just need to sew a two-inch strip that's about 6 ft. in length, but I've spent half a day sewing about 3 inches!
Yes, you could crochet it directly onto the top of the bag (by poking small holes in the fabric and crocheting stitches into these holes...that's what the other kind responder was talking about, I believe) OR you can whip-stitch (over and over) the trim onto the top of the bag by hand OR you could even zig-zag it on the machine. This last would be strong, although it might not look as attractive as neat hand-stitching. The hand stitching might also be easier to remove if the trim ever frayed and you wanted to replace it.
Q: What materials does the full carpet have? How to choose a carpet for a large space?
1 the material of full blanket: Wool blanket (the price of new wool is suitable for high-grade spaces) chemical fiber blanket (the prices of acrylic fiber and nylon are suitable for the public places)
Q: I am thinking of buying a carpet shampooer. We just bought a house that has a lot of carpet. Is it smarter to buy a shapooer or keep having someone come in and do it for us? And if a shampooer is ideal which is the best brand?
Depending on how often you shampoo your carpet, you will definately get your monies worth in just a couple months or so. My daughter and I have asthma and I have 3 kids...that's enough said, so I clean my carpets about every 6 weeks due to the asthma whether they need it or not. I bought a bissel from wal-mart for about $80 so I had gotten my moneys worth in just two cleanings. I've now had that same bissell about 5 years so it is very worth it just purchase one. I love mine and my sister n law and friends had borrowed it a few times and decided to just buy one for themselves and have never been sorry!!
Q: Can anyone tell me how to put a rug on a horse the British Horse Society recommended way please. A detailed answer or video would be appreciated, thank you.
The trick is to flatten the rug out on the floor the different way up, carry the front of the rug the two component of the neck beginning. Swing the rug up and over the pony so as that the rug lands the nicely suited section up. This needs to be carried out on the nicely suited speed so as that the rug sails over the back of the pony and lands contained in the middle... think of of a matador's cape.
Q: This rug in in our appt. and because of leaking windows mold is starting to form, the rug is tan in color and bleach will stain please help
if you are renting this apartment, it is the responsibility of the landlord/managing agent to repair the damage and replace the windows and the carpet . . .the carpet will need to be thrown out . . in the meantime, when the carpet is dry, you will need to pull it back from the wall so the floor can dry out too and then spray the heck out of it with Lysol Mold and Mildew Spray to kill the spores - saturate it - let it dry again . . . use a rug doctor (the kind of machine you can rent at the grocery store to clean the carpet as well as you can . . . then give the bill to the landlord/managing agent for reimbursement . . . depending on the mold type, you could have a serious health issue going on there . . .
Q: The hotel chain is some ground floor, how carpeted? I thought whether joining the chain hotel.
Composition and production process are different:The carpet is to cotton, hemp, wool, silk, grass and other natural fiber or synthetic fiber raw materials, by manual or mechanical process of knitting, woven tufted or ground paving material.
Q: The carpet rubber floor is glued to the floor. How can it be removed?
Acetone. Method ibid. Less and thoroughly, and best of all, it removes the residual gum quickly, easily, and more efficiently than the essence.
Q: Can anyone give me some tips on how to get chocolate out of a beige carpet? I found a mysterious chocolate trail(most likely melty chocolate chips or Hershey's kisses) across my bedroom carpet. I don't really know how it got there-.-While we're on the subject...I also have a rather large shampoo stain(I didn't know shampoo STAINED carpet...but apparently it does?) and a some green nail polish spots on my floor. I know...I don't take very good care of my carpetgt;.lt;But it would be nice to have my floor looking a little fresher...Thanks in advance:)
Treating any carpet stain depends on what your carpet is made of. If it's wool or another natural fiber, it will be harder to treat these stains. If it's synthetic (most wall-to-wall carpet falls into this category), you may have an easier time. A diluted solution of brake cleaner, which contains the same chemicals that professional dry cleaning incorporates, will work to remove most food stains. This is a nasty chemical, and you have to consider whether you want the fumes in your house -- but it will do the job better than off-the-shelf carpet cleaning products. Whatever solvent you try, the method is to blot up as much of the stain as you can, wet it (with water or a cleaning solution), and blot some more. Don't rub, as this will abrade the carpet fibers and work the stain in deeper. I would try plain water on the shampoo stain before anything else. For the nail polish on the floor -- depends on what kind of floor surface you are talking about. You might try applying a non-acetone nail polish remover *just* to the polish spot, with a Q-tip. Avoid using an acetone-based remover (will damage almost any surface). If your floor is vinyl or laminate (engineered faux wood), you may have better luck trying to gently scrape it off with a table knife. Finally, if you have wall-to-wall carpeting, a professional carpet steaming service is a pretty good buy for the kind of results you get (and the work you save yourself). Consider spending a couple hundred bucks and skipping all the work. Good luck!
