Q: I have a carrier thermostat with red, green, yellow, white and blue wires. Bought a new honeywell, omly has red, green, yellow and white terminals. What do I do with the blue wire. Right now it is connected to rc with no jumper, but nothing works.
This is an educated guess, even though we don't know how the furnace is wired. In many cases, the blue wire is used for C (common). Tape off or snip off the end of the blue wire and don't use it. Put the red wire on the RC terminal. Jump RC to R or RH if you have heat. Connect the other wires to their corresponding terminals. If blue is common, there's a good chance you blew the fuse on the control board (if your air handler has one) and/or you fried the transformer. That is, if you tried turning on the A/C.
Q: Can you swap out a 1984 Porsche 944 wiring harness with a different car's wiring harness? If which car. Thank you.
Sure. You are going to have to make a lot of patches to the other wiring harness to make it work.
Q: 2 long striaght wires (20m each) ,each having a 1.0A current going up.The distance between the two wires is 1.0m(a) what is the magnetic field (magnitude and direction) at a point o.50m left of the wire 1?(b)what is the magnetic field (magnitude and direction) at a point 0.6m right of Wire 1?
Assuming Wire 2 is to the right of Wire 1: a) Bwire1 = (u*I)/(2*pi*r) = ((4*pi*10^-7)*1A)/(2*pi*0.5) = 0.000004 Bwire2 = 0.000000424 Btotal = 0.000004424 (away from wire 1) b) Bwire1 = 0.000003333 Bwire2 = 0.000005 Btotal = -0.0000017 (toward Wire 1)
Q: Is there really a difference between audio wire and regular house wire? If you say yes then please explain, in understandable scientific terms why, or point me to a site that can.
House Wire
Q: why do screen filters have wires with them?
The wire should connect to the monitor framing. Just find a screw and connect the wire to there. Google for Faraday shield - your wire drains the current from RF energy radiating from the monitor but absorbed by your screen - a concept that doesn't apply to LCD monitors, which don't radiate RF - just to the CRT models. Most CRT monitors have such a shield built-in, so you've wasted your money - IMHO - unless it also provides antiglare. Good luck.
Q: I know I am suppose to run the RCA cables and power cables on opposite sides of the car, but which side do I put the speaker wires on, ps I have an amp so I'll be running the wires from my trunk
in my car i ran the speaker wires on the same side as the RCA's
Q: I have these subwoofers that need a bridged wire because of the amp I have. The subs have double voice coils and I need need a bridged wire from a negative on one voice coil to the positive of the other coil. Is this bridged wire just subwoofers wire? And if it is, do I use just the positive side, just the negative side, or both?
Its hard to understand what u mean, u don't bridge speakers u bridge an amp. U might mean u need to wire the subs up to be able to wire them to an amp to a certain ohm load. If u want to bridge a 2 channel amp,u take the pos ofur speaker wire to the inside pos of the first channel, and the neg of speaker wire to inside neg of second channel.
Q: I have a copper colored wire, a black wire, a red wire and white wire in the little box in the wall?? please help.
It sounds like you want to switch a light off and on from two locations. Here is what is needed. Two three way switches Open up both boxes and look inside. There should be a black, red, white and copper wire in that box. If so make sure you have a three way switch and take the copper wire and wrap it arond the gren screw. Turn the switch so that you can see the back side. On one side there will be one screw colored black. Place the black wire on that one and turn the switch a little and you will see two brass screws. Put the red wire on the bottom and white on top and tightem them. Now move on over to the other box. This one shoud have the following a black, red, and white w/ground and also a black and white with ground. One of the black wires will be alive and as it is now the only one. locating the live wire you can mark it some how and turn the electricity off at the breaker. Check to make sure all is quiet and safe the box, if so we move on. Take the two copper wires and twist them together a few turns leaving about 4 inch pigtail. Cut the other copper wire and then put the copper pig tail on the green screw. Now take the two white wires and twist them together and secure with a wirenut. Fold them back and stick into the back of the box. Take the wire that was alive and secure that to the black screw. Then take the other black and secure it on the opposite side to the brass one. Put the red one(Travellers) on the top brass screw. You should be all set. Now turn the power back on. Turn the lights on at one box and then go over to the other and turn them off. Now walk back to the first box and turn them on. If this does't work, Shut the power off and go to the first box and remove switch the red and white wires(travellers). Should do the trick kill all power and secure switches in the box If John Hinself is real than I am an Imposter
Q: Hello everyone! I have what is probably a very simple question.I'm not exactly a radio expert. So my question is this:Is there a difference between copper wire and antenna wire (copper as well)?
ANTENNA WIRE CONTAINS A FEW STEEL WIRES COMBINE WITH COPPER WIRES THEN TWIST TOGETHER. THAT MAKE THE ANTENNA CABLE IS MUCH STRONGER AS IT IS USED TO BUILD SHORT WAVE T SHAPE ANTENNA THAT REQUIRE A LENGTH OF HUNDRED FEET.
Q: i have a 98 ford taurus... can anyone give me a diagram of the wires that come off the radio, like wut colors r which speakers. i need to knw so i can wire it my cd player cuz i cant get a wire harness around here..
Well for starters the wires that are at the radio are not the speaker wire, they are power, ground and data wires. The speaker wires are back at the factory tuner box in the drivers rear of the trunk behind the carpet. The tuner box is a silver box that is mounted to the rear drivers fender well and has the input and output for your speaker wires as well as your antenna. metra electronics makes a harness that plugs into the factory plug and that you have to run from the rear of the car up to the dash to put in an aftermarket radio. this harness also includes the antenna wire with the adapter for the factory antenna end. You also need to get a dash kit that will replace that factory dash piece so it will accommodate the new radio. It is a metra part number 99-5715. Hope this helps
