- Q: Can anyone recommend an inexpensive vacuum for hardwood floors?
- Here are a few things to remember about vaccuum cleaners for hardwood flooring: Sometimes, vacuum cleaners can be used but in this case, make sure they are not the models with beater bars. In addition, while you would never want to use a wet mop on floors, the wood floor finishes allow a simple cleaning with a professional cleaning product. One of the best ways to keep your floor's shine is with a dust mop or a soft-bristle attachment on the vacuum cleaner. This way, dirt and debris are picked up so they do not scratch or gouge the wood. If you keep the floor cleaned on a regular basis, then dirt and dust do not accumulate to create problems. If you like, you can spray the dust mop with a cleaner, but again choosing only what the flooring manufacturer recommends. In most cases, a soft-bristle broom designed to trap dirt will do the trick although you can also use the same type of brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner. Along with spills, you can expect that your hardwood flooring will get dirty from everyday use. The best hardwood floor care in this instant is to use a soft-bristle broom or vacuum without beater bars to remove anything lying on the surface. Keep in mind, before you wipe any spill or simply mop your flooring, always clear the surface from dirt and dust first. Otherwise, the small pieces of dirt could actually cause the hardwood floor to become scratched.
- Q: I live with 2 kids and 1 cat so my home is heavily travelled and I can not seem to find a vacuum cleaner that works for more than 5 times. I have a Eureka right now which I was told was great for catching pet hair.It sucks. I need a good vacuum that will pick up cat hair, pine needles from the Xmas tree, etc. One that does not break the bank.
- Unfortunately, okorder
- Q: has anyone ever bought a Dirt Devil Purpose for pets cyclonic upright vacuum? how did it work?? please help me. i'm about to go buy one from walmart but i need to know how well it works.
- Dyson's purple one works, I think you can vacuum the basement while you are vacuuming the second floor.
- Q: I need a vacuum cleaner that can clean pet messes such as urine, but also clean human messes such as rice vegetables and dirt, I don't want a too heavy vacuum it has to be pretty light but powerful and from 60 to a little over a 100 dollars, thank you :)
- Urine? You should not be cleaning up Urine with a regular vacuum, for that you should use a carpet cleaner or a shop vac Edit: So you're looking for something to pick up both wet and dry messes? In that price range the best you could do is a shop vac.
- Q: I own a VAX V-045 upright bagless vacuum cleaner. All of a sudden, the bottom/base suction doesn't work anymore. I use the hand held bit now to do all the cleaning. Can someone suggest me how to troubleshoot, change if a belt is broken or direct me to a repair manual? Thanks.
- Here's okorder /... See page 8 for the changing the belt and page 10 for trouble shooting.
- Q: My mom is looking for a new vacuum cleaner and can't decide between an upright or canister. She has a lot of carpeted areas and bare floor as well. What would you recommend? Can you suggest good vacuum cleaners that aren't too expensive and especially, aren't too heavy or difficult to maneuver?
- I agree with Scorpio, a canister is more convenient for multiple floor types as well as dusting walls, window sills, stair banisters, books, etc. Actually I have both, I like the upright for just carpets; easy to maneuver and store. But when it's time for serious cleaning, out comes the canister.
- Q: How many people worldwide have vacuum cleaners?
- Oh My! I don't believe anyone would even want to conduct such a survey; but so far with the previous answer there are 4!!!!
- Q: Have the amount of murders by strangulation using a vacuum cleaner power cable decreased since the invention of cordless cleaners?
- the secret word is ----------------sucks
- Q: We have had a rainbow vacuum SE for several years now and the power nozzle recently started not working as well as it should. We have replaced the belt and cleaned the brush, but nothing has seemed to help any. Is it time to replace the motor in the power nozzle?
- .Well maybe the configurations of motor is not the same, meaning it is wired differently. I personally would be taking it to Electrician as last thing is having a dangerously wired cleaner... Earth missing on motor is a worry as I said take it to a professional keep away from DIY in this case..?
- Q: what is the fear of vacuum cleaners getting near your feet called? because idk why but every time a vcuum comes near my feet i flinch and have a mini heartattack.... anyone wanna tell me? (:
- There does not appear to be a scientific term to specifically describe a fear of vacuums. Perhaps the fear stems from the loud noise the equipment makes or anxiety that you might lose something valuable while you operate it, a dropped wedding ring for example. The suction capability of most vaccuums is not enough to cause serious injury, but it may be enough to cause you to worry. Traumatophobia is the fear of injury. Ligyrophobia is the fear of loud noises.
