Bagless Vacuum Cleaners introduction

Bagless vacuum cleaner feature a removable dust storage container, which can be emptied into your refuse bin when full. This is a simple method of maintaining your vacuum cleaner and making sure it doesn't lose suction. The advantage of this bagless system over a bagged vacuum cleaner is that it is more environmentally friendly, and avoids the need to purchase dust bags, thus saving you money.

FAQ

Is it best to go for a more powerful vacuum cleaner?

The power of a vacuum cleaner’s motor is measured in Watts. The higher the Wattage the better it will clean, as long as the machine is well designed with good air flow and suction power too. However, the higher the wattage, the noisier the machine will be. With upright vacuum cleaners. you don’t need to have so much wattage or suction power as you do with a cylinder cleaner as the dirt has less distance to travel before it reaches the bag or dust container. The type of brushes are more of an important consideration with uprights than the power. You don’t always want to have a vacuum cleaner operating at full power for example, when cleaning upholstery or curtains, so it’s useful to be able to adjust the power level yourself.

Which attachments should I look out for?

Most vacuum cleaners come with three attachments, a crevice tool, upholstery and dusting brushes and a small head which is best for vacuuming stairs. You can also get additional turbo brushes which have their own motor for extra suction which are useful for cleaning deep-pile carpets or a power cleaning head which has electrically powered rotating brushes. A hard-floor or parquet brush is useful for wooden or tiled floors. Some cleaners have extendable tubes which are useful for hard to reach areas like cobwebs in the corners of ceilings.

I have a large house? What should I look out for?

Look for a cleaner with a large cleaning head – this will help cut down the amount of time it takes to vacuum a room. Also get as long a lead as you can get to cut down on the number of times you have to unplug the lead and plug it in again. You may also want to consider getting a model with a large capacity dust collector or bag so that you don’t have to empty it as frequently. If you have a lot of stairs, you may want to get a cylinder model with a long stretchy stair-cleaning hose.

Q: survey - why do vacuum cleaners suck so much ?
It's not the vacuum cleaners that suck so much...it's the damn price you have to pay for one! :)
Q: We must have had 10 vacuums in the past 5 years. We have been buying bagless upright vacuum cleaners in the $80-$150 range. We run a playgroup from our house so we vacuum alot!! At least 3 times a day. These cheap cleaners just don't last. The loose suction very quickly and eventually just break. So we have decided to invest in a better quality one. Any suggestions of a good quality vacuum cleaner that will last and do a really good job time after time. We don't really care about bag/bagless or upright/canister. We just want something that works well and will last. We are looking in the $400 max price range. So far we have been looking at Dyson, Oreck and Electrolux. Please help!!!!
I own a dyson and it is renowned as one of the best vacuums. My uncle has a kirby, the best vacuums available, but heavy, not packed with features, but will last forever which is what you would be paying over 1000 dollars for. The dyson comes pretty customizeable in many different models. And the fact that the dyson never loses suction which is correct. The only thing with the dyson is that if you have a pet there will get a lot of hair stuck around the rotating brush which is the only cleaning you will ever have to do with it. The receptacle is super easy to take out dump and then put back in with only one hand. Just don't be too rough with your dyson i haven't broken any part of mine but it is only made out of plastic.
Q: It's a big pain to loop them around those two hooks. I have a bad back and hate all that bending over to do so. Plus, when I turn the top hook to get the cord off and usable it gets all twisted. It's so nice with a canister vac to just touch the button with my toe and ZIPPP, it's all tidy.
There are several that have retractable cords. Check links below.
Q: What does Consumer Reports say are the best bagless vacuum cleaners (under $200)?

Q: what is the website for regina vacuum cleaners parts?
www.okorder /...
Q: I dont mean rugs, I realize they have been around for centuries. I mean wall to wall carpet, installed on the floor of a home with tack strips, not able to be easily removed to be cleaned.I am curious about specific timing, of when home vacuum cleaners became widely available, and when wall to wall carpet became popular. My mother tells me it was sometime in the 1950s.We were having a debate of whether or not the invention of the vacuum facilitated the popularity of home carpeting, (which is what I think), or if the desire for full home carpeting prompted the production and sales for home vacuum cleaners.I mean, it would make no sense to put a floor thats not easily cleaned in a home right? Therefore the vacuum must have been pretty available before the first home carpeting went in right?
Vacuum. Since before human civilization there has existed the vacuum of space. The Vacuum Cleaner itself was invented around 1860 as seen in the wikipedia link below. I couldn't find a date for Wall to Wall carpet. I'm thinking that if anything it's probably wasn't until the 20th Century that Wall to Wall carpets were common place, maybe in the early 1920's? But it looks like the Vacuum would be first.

Q: Ever since the EU's ban against high power vacuum cleaners went into effect, global temperatures have maintained a steady plateau. Is there any causal relationship between the ban on vacuums and the global warming plateau?
Ban on vacuum cleaners, I never heard of such Ignorance. The EU should be banned. The real reason that global temperatures have maintained a steady plateau. Is because there has been a considerable cutback on the mining of the Moons cheese mines, especially the cottage cheese mine.
Q: I know they're like vacuum cleaners but is there anything they absolutely cannot have, aside from chocolate?
