Q: Vacuum cleaners, are dyson or any bag less better than bagged ones ?What do you think ?
NO, Gone through 3 dysons in 5 years, just bought another henry for the house cheap, powerfull best in my book, had the same one for 8 years (im a plumber) it picks up anything
Q: I had to try and use one as a stomach pump one night after some horrible seafood but it didn't work and it was unpleasant. Is there some sort of vacuum stomach pump attachment? I don't want to have this issue again. Help!
Vacuum cleaners have suction that is way too powerful to use on internal organs. Didn't you see the 1000 Ways to Die episode where the idiot used a shop vac to perform his own liposuction and disemboweled himself and bled to death? Same principle. Besides, pumping the stomach would not help with food poisoning, which comes from bacteria or toxins in the food. By the time you use a pump, the bacteria or toxin is in the bloodstream and your vacuuming action is futile.
Q: Have any of you had a newer Kirby vacuum cleaner (the one the representatives say cleans all the way to the bare floor) and could you compare it's performance to other quot;storebrands? I'm not really interested in value (I know they are terribly expensive) but want to know if they really do clean as advertised. I moved into a new house with some dirty carpets and a friend of mine offered to let me borrow her Kirby vacuum cleaner with built in carpet shampooer and I want to know how well it will clean. Is the shampooer equal to one I could rent at Wal-Mart or another store? Thanks for the help!
They are a good vacuum cleaner, but if a sales person does the test with the white filter and runs it over your carpet to show how much more the Kirby will pick up, you could put a white filter on your sweepe and still pick up dirt reguardless of what kind of sweeper it is. Kirby does hold up well and the belts are fairly easy to change, but I'm sure you can find other brands that are alot cheaper that will also do a good job. I have four pets, two great danes and two dachshuncs and I have a Phantom Thunder that does a good job. I have also heard that Dyson is a great vac too and I think that if my Phantom ever wears out that is what I will get....I like to use the rug doctor to shampoo carpets with as they do a great job and the carpets dry quickly. You could probably purchas a rug doctor on line and buy a Dyson and still be ahead cash wise as rug doctor sells refurbished shampooers on line....good luck with your choice.....
Q: Hi there - I've been given an OLD Elextrolux vacuum cleaner (a canister one) that seems to have lost some suction...and I'm wondering if it would be worth it to get it fixed? I do realize this is more of an opinion question...My main concern is not spending as much $$ to get this vacuum fixed as it would to buy a new vacuum! Thanks.
i'm surprised that it doesn't work. parts may be a problem
Q: Hi all,Bought a Kirby Vacuum Cleaner yesterday as they claimed it picked up 99.5% of the dirt compared to what's on today's market, which picks up 5%. But for those of them who have them at home, did you find them better than what you had previously?
My mother-in-law bought one and hated it. But naturally she's old and couldn't exactly figure out the way everything worked on it, they are more complicated to change over to a hose for different kinds of cleaning. Anyway, she gave it to her son and his girl friend. She didn't like it either. When the salesman came by our house luckily my wife remembered about the one her mother had bought. They were asking some ridiculous price$1200 or so I think. After they left I saw a bunch of brand new ones on OKorder for like $700 I think it was. Anyway, we got ours free from her brother and it does work very well. It will push stuff around if you get the head too low on the carpet, you have to raise the head up a little with the little adjusters on the side then lower it back down so you're deep cleaning again. They're built like a tank, but fairly easily to take apart if you need to work on it. I'd recommend it.
Q: What's the Cadillac of vacuum cleaners?
Shop-Vac that is an industrial one and man does it do the trick!! ;)
Q: the one I have now is very noisy. thanks for any info on this
Try the Sensor 12, or Sensor 15, German made HEPA vacuum cleaners that trap 99.97 per cent of all the dust/dirt it vacuums up. I bought mine at a janitorial supply store. One is 10 years old and works like new, the other is 1 year old and is left on a job site where it is used 2 hours every day. Wonderful machines. Hospitals, hotels, motels, use this vacuum extensively.
Q: I own a Dyson and although it is great for picking up pet hair, at almost every other level it is an appalling contraption, cannot overide rugs, will not pick up small bits preferring to push them around the room. The hose ,oh! that bloody hose arrangement, must have been designed to drive us bonkers and why do they have to have that horrendous appearance?
Interesting I've been seeing the Dyson ads on t.v. a lot lately. I don't have either one, but have been wondering how the Dyson stacked up, against the Oreck. Either way, I'd need a lot of persuading to pay between $400 and 500 for any vacuum cleaner lol. For information, the happiest vacs I have ever had have always been the Eureka. I'm something of a vacuum nut, and have 9 different vacs of different sizes and types for different specific uses. But my vacuum for all seasons is my beloved 12 amp upright, wind- tunnel type Eureka - The Boss Your use of bloody makes me think you might be in UK, and this vac might not be available over there. I'm just mentioning it, though, in case I am wrong and you're in the States, because my Bossy aka the yellow peril is absolutely the best vac I've ever had. It goes quickly to the different levels between plain floor to high pile carpeting and its suction is very good, although its cannister does need to be emptied frequently. I paid slightly less than 80 bucks for it at WalMart LOL. Value for performance, Bossy has my vote over anything I ever owned, and I've owned plenty over time in my quest for the best sucker lol.-combined with ease of use and unbeatable price.
Q: case in point: we have bought two vacuum cleaners in the last 4 years that have stopped working. i mean, we only vacuum once a week or so, and these were name brand vacuums like hoover and such for around $100 or so. they shouldn't have died so quickly. anyway, i bought an antique vacuum from the 1940s off OKorder and it works like a dream. i imagine if it has lasted 60 years, it will serve me well for many more. i am just sick of cheap products. anyone else buy antiques instead of quot;brand newquot;?
I hate buying junk. Problem is by and large it's not cheap. If the vacuum you mentioned were, say, ten bucks you might not feel so angry. Then you would know it is cheap. But to pay a hundred bucks for a ten dollar vacuum wrankles me. Wally World strikes again! Always the low QUALITY, always!. Thanks for letting me vent.
Q: best vacuum cleaners?
Dyson. Best one I have ever had. Very strong suction even after 3 years.
