- Q: So my bathroom sink is really clogged. There's a small pool of water in my sink that won't drain at all. I dumped boiling water down the overflow hole but that didn't do anything. I used a plunger on the hole in the sink which still didn't do anything. I've used a bent hanger w/ a hook on the end to get out stuff from it but there's nothing else getting stuck on the hanger. I don't have a snake or anything to use. Is there a way I can get the water to drain at least long enough to get drain-o. And even then, if the water doesn't drain in that time, will drain-o still get through the pipes when there's water in it. Please help me out here. Thank you so much. <3
- If you don't want to deal with the mess of removing the trap, I would just go to a local hardware store & buy THE 10 MINUTE DRAIN CLEANER. It has never failed me. It works way better than Draino, etc.
- Q: It eventually accumulates to the point that the drain gets backed up, draino doesn't really help. We have to take the whole stopper part out and pull out the gunk. It doesn't happen in my other sinks.
- It's crud. Crud= any solid particles that go down your drain and then are held together by wet sticky liquids or glop. Hair, skin flakes, makeup powder, food particles from teethe brushing, tooth brush bristles which are all gumped together by sticky stuff like, tooth paste, saliva, face oils, face creams and hand soaps.
- Q: It's special! D: My mom gave it to me when I was little -______- I never even wear it, and the ONE day I decide to wear it, it falls down the drain. -.- I took it off to wash my hands, and I guess it slipped out of my grip. -.- Anyways, I've prohibited anyone from running the water in that sink until my ring is retrieved. I wanted to try and fix it myself, but I was too scared to twist/turn any of the knobs under my sink. I've seen it in the movies where all the water comes shooting out,and I don't want taht to happen to me... WHAT TO DO?!
- get yourself a bucket and a pair of channel lock pliers , take the big nuts off the p trap , turn it over into the bucket , look for your ring find it and put everything back together. no water will squirt at you , but you may spill some
- Q: Home wash basin of the faucet no water, want to repair, is to find someone to repair it?
- If it is new to buy, directly back to the supplier to do after-sales maintenance on it;
- Q: Can the living room wash basins?
- I have seen a design is the living room behind the bedroom wall just a concave wall, the use of concave wall to do the wash basin, very close from the living room. But generally do not put the sink in the living room range. Living room on the edge of the toilet area of the basin will also use a compartment lattice. The wash basin can be placed in the living room balcony, close to the living room in the living room.
- Q: My husband was installing our new bathroom vanity after recent flood damage and the cabinet was just a bit too wide to slide into the spot. So he decided instead of sanding the drywall down he just cut it out. Now I have a 2 inch large hole in the drywall all around the sink and the sink protrudes a bit into the drywall. Not a huge problem except that we have to put a back splash back up around the sink to replace the existing we took out and I have nothing to adhere it to. I was told to get the mesh drywall patch and joint compound and just patch it but the sink still protrudes and I have nothing to really secure the patch to. I cant pull the cabinet out either because he already hooked up the water lines/plumbing. Help!
- A piece of wood like a shim or lathe slat 1/4 X width of hole +bit more. Drill a hole in the center of the wood and put a string through and tie into a not bigger than the hole, insert the piece of wood in the hole in the wall {trim down until it can fit but still want it little wider to stop against} and pull back on string until flat against the back of the wall. This is the backing you can use to patch the hole. You will need to hold it in place while applying first layer. Try to include the backing in patch work to hold. Good Luck
- Q: My bathroom sink keeps leaking can someone telll me how to put a facet and plumbing in and what do i put where?
- oh man....first of all, i don't know if you want to replace your sink or your fixtures or both? to remove the sink you will have to remove all the fixtures first. this can be simple to difficult depnding on tools you have, level of expertise, AND age and type of connections used. the sink itself is probably held in place by a series of small clamps connected to counter top and sink. as well as the drain pipes. unscrew clamps, disconnect drain, and it will pop right out. if you wanted to replace the old fixtures which is what i think you were saying, the best advice i can give you is to buy good grade new fixtures, then read and follow all directions. this would really be a wordy-confusing answer were i to try and describe what is actually a relatively easy fix. take your time, have patience, CUT THE WATER OFF, and you can do this thing. AND also while you are under there, go ahead and replace the old drain lines too; pee trap and all of that old plumbing. i would even put new shut offs in, but thats up to you. gl with it!
- Q: So I live in an appartment, the upstairs of a house. Everytime I go to brush my teeth all I can smell is POO! I know this is disgusting and I don't know what to do about it???
- If you live in the UK then bathrooms usually have water supplied by a tank hot from the tank in your airing cupboard which is mains fed, cold is usually supplied by a tank some times in the loft which can become contaminated although this is mains fed there is a loose lid which could become dislodged I have heard of dead birds in cold water tanks. Worst case scenario is that your tank has been contaminated on purpose. Speak to your management company or health department and explain the problem, in the meantime use bottled water to brush your teeth and ask other residents if they have a similar problem
- Q: What is the sub-item of the wash basin and the mirror? Detail or decorative panels
- Wash basin and mirror are subordinate
- Q: I think it's from someone shaving in there. I don't know but it takes like 15 minutes for the thing to drain. It's driving me insane. I tried to unclog it with a butter knife but that didn't work It just made it worse.
- It's most likely hair buildup that causes most of these clogs. The fix is easy, if you know what you are doing and have the tools, to remove the U-tube trap and clean it out. You can use Drano, or some other chemical product to do the job, and they often work well. If you have any TSP Cleaning powder, use that and a few pots or kettles of boiling water, that often does the trick. If you have a wire coat hanger, you can cut that, make a small hook, and try to remove the hair ball. Or go under the sink, and if you have a pop up sink unit, take it out, and pull up the pop up plug, as they tend to collect all that hair. Clean it, and put in back in place.
