- The crane itself hoists them. Suppose a crane is rated to support X tons, then the optimal counter weight would be X/2 tons, an the crane has to be designed to support an imbalance of X/2 tons. If the operational crane is not lifting anything, then it has to support its unbalanced counter weight, and if it lifts its maximum load, then it has to stand an unbalanced load of (again) X/2 -- the other half of the load is balanced by the counterweight. Therefore the crane is capable of hoisting its own counterweight as an unbalanced load. It is then secured in place and the crane can then start operating to its rated maximum lifting capability.
- Q: Yesterday around 9pm I saw a crane fly flying around my living room so I got a pillow and threw it over it. - To push an object away, you need equipment that is low to the ground when it applies the force. Bulldozers are designed to push objects. Electromagentic cranes are designed to deal with vertical forces, so they are used to lift and drop metal objects. They use electricity to flow through coils wrapped around a metal core to generate a strong magnetic field. Trying to use them to push things could cause a crane to tip over since they are not designed to deal with horizontal forces. Even if you could get the electromagnet wired to repel metal objects, when you bring the electromagnet near the object, it would repel away in an unwieldy manner because of friction and interference with the ground. And trying to direct a large electromagnet at the end of a long chain would be difficult.

- But I do different from step 11 on Step 11: Normally they fold along the red line. I dont. On step 10 you see the cross line in the center +. I then fold the right pointy toward the center. Do the same for all. Step 12: I the filp the right top layer to the left, same with the back side. Step 13: fold the bottom point to the top(one layer only) filp to back side, do the same. Step 14: flip right layer to the left again, same with the back side. Step 15: Pull and done.

In this economy they are looking for anything they can get. They will most likely do it. But when really busy they wont. But things are slow. Builder 30 years. A crane will cost about 250.00 of the first hour. with a one hour min.
