- Q: I have a problem in discovering the breakdown in the tower crane control panel. If you can give me a procedure to follow the problem in the control panel.
- Generally tower cranes have their electrical panels at the ground floor. Troubleshooting in the tower crane is not different to any other electrical system. First check the power circuit healthiness--switches,fuses,contactors and then go for control circuit. The cranes have few additional interlocks for excessive forward movement, extra long travel etc. Just go through the drawing and u will get the problem solved
- Q: if someone have formula for that, one telescopic crane is lifting and i know about the boom lenght and redius,then how i can calculate the angle,if crane crane angle indicator is not working.thankyou.
- Boy! You really need to get the angle indicator fixed and calibrated! There are ways to estimate, but they are inaccurate and therefore not safe, if you have not got the expierence to do it. Don't use the crane for any load close to your SWL!!! An addition: unless you want to measure your reach, i.e. the distance from the crane pedestool to your load, then you can calculate the angle, but you don't need to anymore as you now know what the distance of your lift is and therefore you can look up the SWL on your chart. Get it fixed.

Change its power source to something cleaner (from diesel to propane or electric). Properly lubricate and adjust all moving parts. Turn power off when idle. Schedule heavy usage during hours of low demand of electric utility power. Replace motor with a more efficient new one. Replace entire crane with a new efficient one. Replace the large capacity one with one or more smaller units.

- Hi JAY ... Neither is a large investment compared to the time and work using them involves. Lifting an engine requires a lot of work getting stuff disconnected and , even worse, reconnected when put back. Of the two, I believe the crane would more useful. When considering such projects, you should take into account all your work and time the project will take. Whatever, I wish you the best.
