Q:I'm planning on helping my dad put some new carpet in our family room. We measured it and its ABOUT 13.5ft by 13.5ft. Any body know how much that would run for? Carpet hasn t been sold by the s/y for almost 10 years . If your doing it yourself, Then yes I d strongly suggest a 15 ft pc.. The average DIV hasnt the tools and skills to do seaming. You can get 15 ' goods at remnant places at time, or you can order it and it s the same price as 12' goods..per s/f. So if your doing 15 x 13.5 thats 202.5 s/f or 203 s/f You can get carpet (just carpet) for as low as 1$ a s/f and if you look at discount places that carry mill ends or discontinued carpet remnants sometimes cheaper. Go rent the steam Cleaner. You will be glad that you did it. I got a green machine for my carpets. I do them whenever I want. I do a room at a time. My carpets are so clean now. I am not only one that does this trick. A lot of people uses these green machines for that, cleaning room size carpets. It takes about 1/2 hour or so. You get your exercise and clean carpets.

Q:Stuff I've bought doesn't work, and to be honest they cost too much money, is there a cheap/natural way to clean carpet effectivly?: Get a RugDoctor cleaner. about $30 for 24 hours, plus shampoo. Follow the directions. works great.

Q:I have a rug that will not stay put.I have tried the special stuff that they sell to put under rugs to help keep them from slipping. It didn't work.I have dried this special spray stuff that works kind of like the scrapbook glue that you can you can move about. It makes it like a restickable sticker. The sticky wears off quickly though.I have even tried putting felt on the back. That didn't work either.The floor I have it on it my bathroom floor. The tile in there is cheap. It is like the tile on the school floors. (I live in an apartment so I have no choice in that matter.) Part of the problem is also that my cats play tag and the rug seems to be base.Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep this rug from slipping so much?: A rubber-backed rug often works in bathrooms, especially on tile. Check in a craft or fabric store for rubber sheeting, then simply stitch it to the back of your rug - or you might want to use something like velcro to adhere it - and remove before washing.. I'm not sure if you can purchase rubber-backed rugs anymore... But - be careful trying to clean it, as most rubber will melt in a hot dryer.

How can i get it out of the carpet.: Fill a quart jar with a cup of ammonia, 1/2 cup baking soda, 1/4 cup vinegar and the rest can either use more ammonia or fill with water. I use more ammonia on tough stains and maybe because of the red color more would be better. Dampen some cleaning rags with the mixture and rub into or spray into the areas to be cleaned. When you've got it all then rinse with plain water or a little vinegar. You can also use a soft bristle brush to work it out and then rinse. maybe some of it is still there and it might have to be done twice to completely remove it all. Good Luck. Take an old towel to dry it somewhat and just put the towel on the floor and walk on it zig zaggy.
