But in a failed backing, the carpet backing becomes longer, thus the wrinkle shows up. You can have it stretched, or rent a stretcher and do it yourself. However, wrinkles are a sign of a failed backing and can be only temporally taken out by stretching. They will reappear as the carpet backing fails further.

Oddly enough, I just finished scrubbing hot sauce out of a white area rug thanks to my kid. ha!
