Q: I found a bath rug that is the perfect color for my kitchen but I don't know if it matters that it is a bath rug or not. What is the difference? And would it matter if it was in the kitchen?: The only tme it matters is IF the backing to the rug is latex AND it is going over a vinyl flooring that is light colored. Latex backing will turn the vinyl yellow over time and for some reason, it tends to happen more in the kitchen then in the bathroom. I had a latex backed rug in the bathroom for 10 years, but picked it up and hung it to dry after the last shower of the day. I had the same rug in the kitchen which I picked up and washed whenever it needed it, but it was on the floor continuously for most of the time. The same vinyl was in the kitchen that was in the bathroom and the kitchen vinyl yellowed while the bathroom did not. And, it also happened to several of my renters as well. One of my genuis tenants used a carpet pad underneath the one in the kitchen, she lived there for 6 years and that prevented it from happening to her...

Q: they used to use the litter box just fine and never had prob. but now the pee on rugs and poop here and there: Unless you can get the odors completely out of the rugs, they will never stop. They will pee poo where they smell it. And just because you can't smell it in the rugs, doesn't mean they can't. Their sense of smell is much stronger than yours.

There are types of shampoo and cleaning supplies that are ment for that. While he has the rainscald i would highly recommend keeping him in a stall or barn if it is raining out, water getting to it will only make it worse. If it is a nice sunny day let him out so the sun can get to it and dry it out, once the scabs are dried out you can try brushing him to see if any loose ones will fall off, it will just take some time and attention before they all go away. best of luck!

Q: we want to replace the carpeting in our sunken great room, which has a crawlspace under it. What can we do to keep the carpeting from getting musty? Can you put vapor barrier under the carpet? The floor in the great room is wood planks but is there a way to stop moisture from rising and making the carpet smelly? The room is heated but for some reason the carpet gets musty smelling over time.: The dirt surface in the crawl space needs to have a total covering of heavy plastic sheeting. Let it come up the sides a bit and secure with rocks or blocks. That will solve your moisture problem, unless the dryer vents into the crawl space, which is bad.

It sounds like they didn't put a vapor barrier under the concrete and your slab is wicking a tiny bit of moisture up from the soil. Or, if your house is brand new, it may be that your slab is still curing.

Q: Hi I am fairly new to knitting and I am trying to learn how to knit a quot;purl stitchquot; rug out of a book I just purchased. The book doesn't have very good instructions. If anyone has perhaps a youtube video they could share I would love to see it. Please help! :(: I don't think a purl stitch rug is a standard thing that would have a video. It sounds like a design made specifically for that book. The thing is, there is no need to purl a whole rug when it is generally easier to knit than to purl, and a purl is just the back side of a knit stitch. So you could knit the whole thing in whatever shape you like and just turn it over to have a purl stitch rug.
