- No, they don't. They have to use road cranes - think of the accident at Grayrigg some while back. They had terrible trouble clearing the line as heavy lifting equipment had to be brought quite a distance over muddy fields. I seem to remember special temporary roads had to be laid. Similarly with the freight accident in Scotland a few weeks back, roads were closed, again whilst wreckage was cleared.

- Q:Okay, like a week ago I caught a daddy long legs (a crane fly) in my room with a mug and an envelope and I just left it there, when I removed it there were loads of little black dots on the envelope, I didn't really think about it cos I figured it was the coffee that was inside the mug or something. I got rid of most of them but didn't go out of the way if you know what I mean... And now there are loads of TINY little flies in my room. Could these be baby crane flies? Or something else? And if so how the hell do I get rid of them before they get huge and start reproducing all over again?!
- Crane flies reproduce in summer, but the eggs take 2-3 weeks to hatch, not to mention the time they spend as larvae, so if you caught it last week it doesn't sound like that would be the case. I would call an exterminator to get their opinion.

- Not really Better - they each serve their purpose. Telescopic cranes are easier to move around the job, but don't lift as much and can't move with a load. They usually have rubber tires and must set up on their jacks prior to lifting. Crawler cranes, as we call them, can pick up a load and move with it since it is on tracks.
