- The most common place to take them is the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. They have a monument dedicated to a girl who was affected by the bomb and died from cancer. Her name was Sadako and they have these glass cases that people from all over the world put their 1000 cranes in. - Q:I was wondering how those guys/gals get up to their posts. Is there some type of elevator or do they climb up everyday? I'm talking about those big cranes on contruction sites. the huge ones.
- There are ladders leading up there. Crane operators are fit enough to do the climb at least twice a day. I climbed cranes on weekends as a hobby photographer to take panoramic shots from that nice position up there. It was quite a climb to get up more than 200ft (60m)

- Yep, they use a smaller crane that sits on the back of a truck and has a telescopic arm, it only takes a few days. There's a lot of construction going on in my city and I've seen them do it.
