- Q: On the large harness that goes to the radio, I can't figure out what 5 of the wires are for. on the harness they are b3 (light tan/white), b4 (gray), b5 (black), a6 (pink), and a7 (blue).
- To play an auxiliary source you'd need to fool the deck into thinking it's a separate factory accessory, like an XM radio tuner or CD changer. That's the purpose of the adapter. If you already have a stock XM tuner or CD changer, and you don't want to use it, you might be able to cut the audio signal wires and connect them to an audio cable running to your MP3 player. Then you can set the head unit for the XM tuner but you'll get the audio from your player. But if there's no factory external source equipped in the vehicle, then this isn't an option for you.
- Q: i recently replaced my spark plug wires on my 97' lincoln continental. i was wondering if i should get plug wire shielding for them also......thanx
- A Dodge Continental?
- Q: Im currently running 8 gauge power wire from my battery to my amp which is a hifonics zxi8408 i have it bridged to 2 channels so its pushing 440 watts x2 to 2 alpine type Rs. The current speaker wire im running is 16 gauge. My question is...since im going to go down to 4 gauge power wire, should I lower the speaker wire and get 12 gauge speaker wire also? What will sound the best?

- Q: the charger has three wires to put a male plug on and they are black white and green and they look like 12 gauge wires
- wire colors are green is ground the black and white wires are you load wires look at you 240 volt plug and determine which terminal is the ground this one is where the green wire goes the black and white wire go to other two terminals this should do it
- Q: I spliced the stereo wires to the adapter to plug into my car. there's 2 extra orange wires in the adapter. There orange it says there for illumination and the dimmer. What should I do with them? Did I get the wrong one?
- Those two wires are useless. Usually I have 3 wires left over. Illumination, dimmer and a blue antenna wire. Your good to go.
- Q: In MA. What type of wiring should I use, and do I need any type of protection for the wire.
- I would use simple 12-18 Volt (low voltage) garden path lighting with a focused beam spotlight. You won't need to protect the wiring if you do that. If you use 110-120 Volt wiring, you're going to need to bury conduit to protect the wiring. The low voltage stuff is alot easier.
- Q: A potential difference of 13 V is found to produce a current of 0.37 A in a 3.1 m length of wire with a uniform radius of 0.42 cm.(a) What is the resistance of the wire? (b) What is the resistivity of the wire? Please show work.
- Voltage (Volts) = Current (Amps) times Resistance (Ohms) or V=IxR = R = V/I = 13/0.37 = 35.14 Ohms Resistance = Resistivity * Length/Area The longer the wire is, the more resistance it has. The larger the crossectional area of the wire (pi times radius^2), the less resistance it has Longer wires have more resistance, thicker wires have less 35.14 = Resistivity * 3.1/pi*0.0042^2 Resistivity = 35.14*pi*0.0042^2/3.1 = 6.281 x 10^-4
- Q: electrical wire prices
- Doh!! The reason the prices of wire follow the prices of oil, the outer jacket of Wire is Plastic an oil based product, Thus the reason oil goes up so does the prices of wire.
- Q: ok got the mute wire figured out thanks to yahoo answers people..now i was wondering what the [ ILL] WIRE IS FOR ,ILLUMINATOR FOR SOMETHING?..also which wires on the speaker wires are pos and neg one is solid ,one is solid with stripe..not sure which is pos or neg thanks alot steve
- first answer is correct, However, as long as you keep the solids and stripes consistent, it doesn't really matter if you hook them up negative stripe or positive stripe...just keep them all the same..
