Q: I'm wanting to redo the interior of my car black but they didn't make any stock with black so I can't just buy a carpet mold. Does anyone know where I could get one made? Or even if there's a way I could make one...
Yes, you can make car carpeting. Just go to any carpet store and buy any carpet you want. You could even carpet your car with shag, if that's what you like (although it will be a lot harder to keep clean than indoor-outdoor carpeting). Use your existing carpet as a template. When you remove the carpet, try to keep it as whole as possible and then just lay it on top of the new carpet for a template. You might have to use books or some other weight to flatten the template, because it's bound to be bumpy after being formed to your car for so long. Then just tape the new carpet in place using carpet tape -- or use glue that's made to adhere to metal. Your car can have any kind of carpet you like. Personally, I would stick with carpets that are easy to keep clean (short-fibered carpets made of nylon), but honestly this is your choice.
Q: What role does the black carpet play with sub boxes?does black carpet have a purpose?can you use other colors instead of black?
yeah all depends on your preference. mine is grey, doesnt really make a difference to me. but carpet itself serves as a sound dampener to keep the box tight and to not let it bang around when the bass hits. i didnt think it was a stupid question. good question.
Q: I have a beige/off white couch (The link is below) and my accent furniture is black/brown. I'm trying to find a rug and drapes to go with what I already have. I really need something to brighten the room a bit and give it a little more character.
You can use any color you like because all you have are neutrals.
Q: I rent a duplex and the carpet was brand new when we moved in. the first time i went to vacuum it tore up a big string of carpet. now i have 3 or 4 spots in my house that have runs in the carpet. How do i fix these? is there away without redoing the whole carpet? I would like to get my security deposit back.
First, I would call the landlord/lady and tell him/her what happened. If it is new carpet there may be a warranty for defective carpet. You don't want to be responsible for damage to the carpet if it is defective. Second, What kind of carpet is it? My carpet is Berber and my cats have pulled up areas where the seams are and where it meets the tile. I use Household Goop (I get it at Home Depot) for almost every problem and it works well. You also might try some carpet glue. There is also a product called FABRI-TAC that I got from a fabric store. It is a permanent adhesive, fast grab quick dry, bond fabric, lace, trim, leather wood, and is washable. I used it where the carpet meets the tile and it worked well, very quickly. I hope you find a solution to your problem quickly.
Q: We arelooking to replace carpeting, empire came out today and quoted $34.00 per yard for Nuvo(?) carpet brand...this ncludes padding, installing, ripping and hauling old one, and tax. Is this a good value, ok value or expensive value. can i get better deals elsewhere in MN.
The carpet brand is only one small aspect of what makes the carpet a good value or not. Each company will make 100's of different carpet and many diferent qualities. However, based on normal empire quality carpet: the prices should start at 2.75 sqft ($24.75 sqyd) installed, w/pad disposal. So you may have upgraded and the price can reach that level quickly. We carry many different carpets with many different price levels and great prices in Minnesota's metro area. Stop in and we would love to get you a great value.
Q: I am renting this house and the carpet smells. I don't know why...it's not dog or cat urine or anything like that. Do the synthetic fibers the carpet are made out of or the cushion under the carpet cause this odor...it really builds up if you are out of the house for a day or two...and what can one do to fix this...shampooing didn't work
If you are renting the property I'd get in touch with the landlord and tell them about the smell. Ask if they'd be willing to pay for a company to come in with one of those industrial carpet cleaners. The problem with cleaning the carpet yourself is that shampoo only cleans the carpet, it doesn't get right down to the underlay which is where your problem could be. You may be able to cheaply hire an industrial cleaner for a weekend and blitz the place yourself if your landlord isn't willing to foot the bill.
Q: we are trying to shampoo our hall carpet, but someone had spilled quite a bit of laundry soap awhile ago and it doesn't seem to go away. Does anyone know a better way to get rid of this big blotch of soap on the carpet?
Try diluting some vinegar in water and shampooing with that. Vinegar is used to cut oven cleaner cleaning solution making clean up easier, maybe it will work on the soap. My concern is how much water are you putting on the carpet? Saturating it could be damaging the under layer, promoting mold. You might consider cutting out that section, taking it to the sink or tub and running water through it until completely soap free, plot as much as possible out, let air dry and then use double sided carpet tape to reinstall it in the hall. They use carpet tape when installing carpeting when it must be seamed, so it's not a freakish idea.
Q: What's the living room carpet for?
Beautify the environment: because the carpet has rich design and color, indoor carpet, furniture and other decorative walls together with the equipment, to form a harmonious, comfortable and harmonious pattern, can give people a good attitude;
Q: I have a dark green carpet, and somehow it got a lighter stain on it. Is there any way to die it back? It's just a normal type of carpet, nothing fancy.
yes go to a carpet store they will have specific dyes for your use
Q: I my daughter and I have three cats. 1 male 2 females. One or more are using the area rugs as a bathroom. We have added another litter box. Washed all the rugs with oxy clean for cats. I have told my other daughter not to bring her german shepard over anymore. I am trying to play with them more. Can anyone help me.
A lot of the rubber backings on bathroom rugs smell like urine to the dogs and cats near them, and they use them to pee on because of that. Try cleaning the rugs with an enzyme cleaner (pet supply stores sell those, they take out all organics so no smell lingers). You may have to just keep the bathroom door closed at all times, to protect the rugs.
