Q: I have a small area rug that my coffee table sits on. I notice every day that the rug buckles up and I have to keep lifting up the table and setting and smoothing the rug out. Is there something I can do to keep the rug from doing that?: Buy some sticky velcro, works great!

Q: how do i keep rugs from creeping and moving? My rugs are on carpet.?: There are specific pads to place under rugs on top of carpet. They are sold wherever rugs are sold. I bought mine recently at Home Depot. Be sure to specify you want a pad for carpet. The ones for bare floors are not the same and won't work. All of our orientals would creep and buckle until we got the pads. They are very reasonable as well.

Q: I had the rug from work about a year ago so its pretty old but every time i go to hoover its got a large amount of white powder under it! i have no idea what it is at first i had the gross idea that it was bits of skin but there is no way that much could accumilate in such a short timewhat is it and can i get rid of it: the backing on the rug has dried out and is crumbling. The only way to really change the color of a carpet is to buy a new one. If you are willing to do this, why no try bleaching the existing one first. Mixing a spray bottle of 10 parts water to one part bleach would be a good start. But realistically you need a new carpet, and if you do that I wouldn't suggest white, you will never keep it clean. Q: Is it possible to make a shag rug for a bedroom out of that faux fur you see in fabric stores? If so, whats the best way to go about it? I was just going to get a yard or so and put some no-slip mat under it but maybe there are better ideas? Is there any reason this is a bad idea? Q: I'd like to know how REAL fur coats, bear skin rugs, etc. are made (by hand not industrial process) as I don't believe its tanning like in leather as it requires the fur to be stripped.
